APOPO’s TB detection HeroRATS next location.....Ethiopia!
We are proud to announce that a new TB detection facility will be opening in Addis Abba, Ethiopia later this year. APOPO will be sending a team of HeroRATs to identify more TB positive people that have been missed by public clinics who can then be put on life saving treatment and stop the further spread of the disease.

In addition to their adorable faces and love for bananas, peanuts, and strawberries, HeroRATS have super sniffer noses! They can sniff out sputum samples for tuberculosis at a rate of 100 samples per 20 minutes.This is more efficient than traditional methods and also far more effective-- truly life saving!
