A thousand years ago, when the Mikaelson's were still human, Niklaus had a secret lover.
She was soft and sweet, gentle and kind.
Y/N would wash the blood away from the wounds that colour his skin as a result of his father's rage.
Her soft humming would lull him to sleep, his head against her breast comfortably as they lay out in the forest where he felt most at home.
His siblings knew of Y/N, they had seen her around and met her once or twice but Esther and Mikael weren't in the know. Niklaus was too afraid they'd forbid him from seeing her and he could handle being without her.
Each of his siblings had sworn not to tell but Finn was so awful at keeping things from their mother.
Niklaus hadn't known that he brother has tattled until it was too late.
Henrik had been killed and Esther and Mikael in turn made the rest of their children undead forever.
However it was only when Klaus's true identity came to light that Y/N was punished too.
In addition to Mikael locking away Niklaus's wolf side and swearing hatred on him, he sought to punish him further by shoving a dagger deep into her chest.
Niklaus's scream shook the trees, Elijah held him as his sobs dragged the grass back into the ground and buried the life that was lost.
As centuries past, his grief was hidden behind more death and agony of which Klaus inflicted across the world.
Her face was painted a million times over, a thousand different styles until Klaus could not bear to look at her anymore, it was like tearing his heart out over and over.
When the daggers came into his possession, they reminded him of her. He could still see her fearful eyes begging him for help as the blood seeped through her dress.
And yet the weapon made him feel close to her each time he used them.
Her memory began to fade as the years went by, she drifted within his mind as other things came and went.
But she could never be forgotton.
Esther knew that, and she used that to her advantage.
She knew from the first time she stumbled across her son bathing in the lake late at night with his arms hanging loosely around a girls naked hips, their foreheads touching as they gazed lovingly at each other.
When mikael killed her, she kept the girl preserved and buried safely.
A thousand years later she finally had use for the girl.
So when her children stood threateningly at the doorway, Klaus's rage on full display, Y/N's frightened whisper would break his attention.
His eyes found her.
She was in that same dress she died in, still stained by her own blood but now coated head to toe in mud.
He stepped forward but Esther's hand grabbed Y/N's wrist tight in a warning and he froze.
So did Elijah and Rebekah.
"She's human, Niklaus." His mother reminded. "You could be human with her, have a family, a real life together like you were supposed to." She offered, watching the glimmer in her sons eyes.
Elijah stepped forward, hold hand resting on Klaus's shoulder as he too stared straight at the confused, petrified girl they had all loved.
"She's not real." Elijah whispered, assuming it was a trick and Esther's expression darkened as a blade was swiped quickly across Y/N's wrist, not hard enough to be fatal but enough to draw blood and panic Klaus.
He was in front of her in a second, trying to pull her to him but Esther threw him to the wall before he could reach and just like that Elijah and Rebekah were moving too.
Y/N was shaking silently in the corner by the time that Esther had been torn apart.
Her body flinched and trembled even once she resided in Niklaus's arms.
She whimpered weakly, confused words recited in the same language they had used all that time ago.
Niklaus didn't remember much but he had played the memories of their words over and over so many times that he was still able to comfort her in his mother tongue.
They got her home quickly, hiding her away in Klaus's room and muttering amongst themselves as to what to do.
"There must be a way to at least let her understand english-" Rebekah questioned and Elijah sighed, glancing over to how Y/N's fingers touched Klaus's curls and she whispered in their old language about how short it had become.
"We'll ask Davina... we should let Niklaus get her washed...she appears as though she'd been dug up." He murmured, a furrow to is brow.
Rebekahs gaze drifted to her dirtied finger nails.
"She wasn't dug up...mother wouldn't be so kind. She dug her own way out." She uttered and Elijah grimaced.
"Come, we should get her some tea..." Elijah swallowed thickly, guiding Rebekah out of the room and leaving his brother alone with his old love.
His hands tried to pick the clumps of dirt from her hair whilst also trying to understand the fast words she threw at him.
He tried to give her the word for bathing and eventually she nodded, holding onto his hands as he lead her into the bathroom.
The bath was small, not like the lake and the water was hot, it startled her. Klaus steadied her, helping her down and climbing in behind her when she cried out for him not to leave her alone.
Not again.
The feel of her skin back against his was a feeling Klaus had been so sure he had forgotten forever. She tried to turn to face him, ending up completely pressed on top of him as his hands washed the soap and water down her back only start panicking when the expensive body wash made her soft skin scatter with red rash.
"Oh-" He muttered and wrapped his arm round her waist and lifted her up with him. She muttered out in confusion but didn't struggle, too happy to be in his hold as he drained the water and started again, laying back down with her.
"Come here, my sweet." He guided her onto her back so he could reach and see her hair as he washed it enough until it was back to the silkiness he remembered so fondly.
He heard her little sniffles first, before her shoulder shook slightly with a sob. Klaus's heart sunk slightly and he nudged his nose into the side of her neck, placing gentle kissed like she had loved so much but they made her cry harder.
Her words were lost on him, he couldn't recall the language well enough after so long and it made his guilt swirl so much it hurt. Klaus tried to make sense of something but all he could make out was "Darkness" and "loneliness".
He tried to comfort her with the few words still in memory but she wouldn't stop, not even once she was dressed in one of his shirts and tucked to his chest under the covers, a cup of tea in Klaus's hands that he'd insisted she sip on from time to time.
Eventually she sunk into sleep but it only lasted for so long before she was clawing at her throat with her already broken nails, as though she were suffocating.
Klaus grabbed at her hands, immediately being sucked into her mind.
The image of her waking beneath the ground, unable to breathe or see as her hands tried to find the light above.
Only a few seconds passed before Elijah was bursting through the door, awakened by the screams. Rebekah and Marcel a few seconds later.
"I'm calling Davina." Marcel muttered to Rebekah after actually seeing the girls condition and hearing her foreign cries.
The lights were back on which calmed her partly, finally being able to see.
Her hands clung onto Klaus's shirt, clutching the fabric against her palm for any sort of security.
Elijah and Rebekah were sat on the edge of Klaus's bed, watching the once full of life girl from their village full of fear and confusion.
Ages went by before Marcel returned with a half asleep Davina and a couple candles.
Klaus rocked his love calmly, hand stroking her arm to prove he was still there as Davina set up around them.
Her chant echoed through the room, flames standing tall and proud as she reluctantly held her hand out for Klaus to take and then gently held Y/N's in the other.
"I'm sorry...this is the only way I can think of." She whispered before a thousand years worth of Klaus's memories were thrust upon Y/N.
A loud sound of pain emitted from her and she held her head. Klaus frowned in concern, trying to cup her face to see what was happening but when she looked back at him it was like she had seen a ghost.
A thousand variants of each emotion painted her expression before she crawled back against him and breathed in his scent with each hiccuped cry.
After a while the others left and Klaus rest his chin on top her head.
She didn't utter a word for days, not in any language.
Klaus would dress her and feed her each day, hold her to him as he showed her the television which only seemed to hurt her head.
He had left her downstairs on the couch when she had fallen into for once a stable sleep without the traumatic nightmare of being buried alive.
He was just in the other room, trying to think of any way to make things better for her and for them.
Y/N being alive had never once been a possibility in his mind, especially her being alive with no knowledge of any time passing to all of a sudden knowing every shameful act he'd committed.
Klaus was too lost in thought to hear Camille making her way into the abattoir, calling out for him and stumbling across Y/N who had just woken.
"Oh...uh hi." She blinked at the girl.
She was clearly in Klaus's clothes. The sweatpants were barely holding onto her hips and the shirt was easily recognisable.
Y/N stared back, she recognised her, from Klaus's memories.
Camille, Cami.
He liked her, they'd danced together. He'd thought about her, a lot.
It made her stomach twist uneasily and her knees pull to her chest self-consciously.
"Camille." Klaus's voice echoed over her head before he was kneeling down beside her and stroking her head, checking she hadn't woken in terror again.
"I'm afraid this isn't a good time." He informed her, sitting down on the sofa and noting how Y/N withdrew, instantly making the mental connection.
"You haven't been answering, I worried something had happened." She explained warily as she watched Klaus watch Y/N.
"This is Y/N." He introduced faintly, his attention not lifting to her. "She died a thousand years ago but my mother brought her back, she's struggling to adjust for the moment. I'd appreciate if you left, I don't think new people is helping right now." He tried to tell her to leave as politely as possible.
Cami only nodded, the information hitting like a wave as she apologised under her breath and retreated.
Klaus stroked Y/N's cheek as he sighed softly,
"Please understand that I love you Y/N." He murmured. "I would have chosen you over any woman I have ever come across without a doubt. I would have taken my mother's deal, I would be human beside you." He told her, eyes sincere. "I only wish we could go back all those years, I should have married you then." He uttered, a kiss pressed to her cheek.
"Why didn't you?" She whispered, speaking in english for the first time.
"I was afraid. Not of us, of-"
"Mikael." She mumbled, “I remember now, sorry." She sniffed and he sighed.
"You shouldn't have been given all my memories like that, it's too much for anyone to handle all at once." He sighed, his hands cupping her face and stroking her soft cheeks.
"I won't ever leave you alone again. Never in the dark, never in the cold, never anywhere."
"I don't understand why she would bring me back." Y/N whispered and Klaus frowned.
"I'm happy you're here, my heart." He murmured, his brows furrowed. "I've lived to long without you, and you have not lived long enough. Things will be better now."
"You hurt and kill..." She whispered, a soft sniff to her words and he looked down.
"I know." He nodded. He hated all the evil she had seen him do through his memories. He was nothing like he used to be. "But I'd never hurt you, and I'd keep you safe."
"I don't want to be here." She whimpered and he held her onto his lap.
"It's just hard at the moment, we've only just started adjusting. It'll get easier and you'll start to like it. I know you've seen things through me but it'll be so much better when you actually experience them." He persuaded, stroking her hair but she didn't look overly convinced.
"I don't want to push my way into your new life." She mumbled and sighed softly to himself in slight annoyance, not being annoyed with her but annoyed with the idea that he could ever not want her with him in his life. She would never be an inconvenience for him, a long time ago she was every thing for him and now she was that again. It had been clear that Klaus's attention had remained on her since the second his eyes found hers again, it was very possible that Klaus wouldn't be so infatuated with power so much now.
She held the innocence of his past that he had lost.
She gave him something that no thing or other person could ever supply.
She was old life and she would be his new life, he could finally have a second chance worth taking.
His body was curled around hers, protecting her frame like a shield as he nuzzled her hair.
"You're not pushing in, my love. If anything, I'm pulling you in. I don't think I can ever lose you again."
Klaus uttered, his eyes closing as his mind conjured a hundred different possibilities for their future.
"You are the life in my death, even when I was human...you were the light.

Elijah’s pissed.
He’s like really pissed.
I’m screwed.
-10 Minutes Earlier-
“You burnt down a bridge?”
“Why didn’t you invite me?”
“I was going to do that.”
I blow out a breath as I glance from Finn, Kol, and then Rebekah.
“Um, not me,” I gesture to Sage, “We.”
Sage deadpans a look at me and I give her a shrug.
“Why did you burn down a bridge, Y/n?”
I turn back towards Finn who seems bewildered.
“We,” I gesture to Sage again, who rolls her eyes, “Burned down the bridge and the bridge’s sign because Sage found out that the wood that created both was made from White Oak…you know…the same White Oak that could kill the lot of y’all.”
“Pardon?”
I turn to Kol who is looking at me skeptically.
“The last of the white oak was burnt down over a millennium ago. We made sure of that.”
“Brother, it’s true,” Bekah says, “I was going to burn down that bloody bridge myself tonight.”
“How is this possible? How do you know this Rebekah?! And why did you keep it to yourself!?”
Klaus yells at his sister after being silent for the first time in his life. Elijah on the other hand, who is leaning against the staircase behind him, hasn’t made a peep.
I eye Rebekah warily and side-eye Sage who side-eyes me.
“The Salvatores!”
I quickly yelp out trying to help Rebekah from having to admit that she had a threesome with both Sage and Demon.
“Yep. I was snooping as I usually do and overheard Damon asking the Mayor about some records about the town's bridge and such. And then Sage here did some digging, the same digging I’m sure Bekah did,” I nod to Bekah who is nodding along with me, “and then that’s when Sage found out from Damon and some records he has at the boarding house that the bridge is made from White Oak.”
I finish my dialogue off with an almost convincing smile and look at the vampires around me. Rebekah gives me a soft smile and nods, agreeing with me, Kol still looks skeptical, as does his Hybrid brother, Finn looks confused, per usual, and Elijah…hasn’t looked away from the wall in front of him in the past 5 minutes.
Everyone is silent.
“This is the part where you guys say thank you,” I give them an awkward toothy smile.
“Thank you,” Kol yells sarcastically, “Thank you for what?! For one, you burnt down an entire bridge on the ramblings of a vampire that wants to kill our family, and if that’s not bad then you went and burned down an entire bridge…without me. Who do you think you are?”
“Watch it,” Klaus snarls at his younger brother.
“Who am I?!”
I begin to march over to Kol with my finger pointed and Klaus walks in front of me, stopping me.
“Easy, Astin Min,” Klaus tries to calm me down but I shove past him.
“Who am I? One, I’m the one who just burnt down the thing that would kill you and your entire family. Two, I’m also the one who some weird ass fate thing decided that I’m supposed to carry the souls of your brothers?! AND to remind you all if those two,” I point towards Klaus and Elijah, “were to die, so do I! So if you’re having a fit about me burning down a bridge, literally shut the fuck up because it’s self preservation.”
I rub a hand over my face in exhaustion.
“Y/n, are you alright?”
I take my hand off my face and look at Finn, who is frowning at me, “I’m all good, Finney. Just past my bedtime and incredibly exhausted and not in the mood for that,” I point a finger at Kol, “Right now.”
“What the hell did I do?”
I roll my eyes at Kol’s comment.
Klaus sniffing the air catches my attention, “Yes, I know. I’ve got to take a shower to get this gas smell off of me.”
Klaus takes a quick stride over to me and grabs my shoulders and his eyes frantically look over my figure, “You’re hurt. Where?”
I try to shrug his death grip but he just holds me in place, “I just got a little burnt from a stray flame. Nothing bad.”
Klaus’ eyes darken, “Where Y/n?”
I shrug off my loose sweatshirt and show him the not so small burn that runs across my upper forearm.
“Ok, yikes,” I breathe through my nose as I process how it kind of actually stings like a bitch, “Not so little.”
Klaus releases a growl and he quickly goes to bite his wrist but I stop him, grabbing his hand.
“Nope. Every little booboo I get doesn’t need your blood.”
Klaus narrows his dark eyes at me.
“Y/n, to be honest with you, the little “booboos” you always have aren’t as little as you think they are,” Rebekah comments with a judging look.
“You’re being delusional,” I scoff.
“Were you not shot?”
I gasp at Finn’s words.
“Phineas, I told you that as a secret.”
Finn frowns and mumbles an apology.
“Secret? You quite literally told me that 30 minutes ago,” Sage raises an eyebrow at me.
“Yes and?”
“We met 40 minutes ago.”
I suck on my teeth. Oh.
“Wait, you got shot?”
I side-eye Kol, “No.”
I hear Kol mutter something but I don’t pay attention as I watch Elijah shake his head and walk back up the staircase, his left hand gripping the bannister as he goes.
“All of you leave,” Klaus’ voice booms, and I nod and begin walking towards the door.
“Bloody hell, luv. Not you,” I feel him grab my hand and pull me back towards him.
I hear Kol mutter something again before leaving the room, Sage and Finn both look at me and Sage sends me a small smile before looking back up to Finn with stars in her eyes. Finn stops for a moment before me and raises his hand. He pauses it midair, as if he’s not quite sure of his movements, but then he places his hand on my shoulder and squeezes.
“Thank you, Y/n. You’ve given me something I’ll never be able to thank you enough for…but I will try to repay you for this.”
I smile at Finn, “All in a day's work, Phineas. No need to thank me.”
Finn lifts his hand and spares his brother a fleeting glance before leaving the room with Sage in tow.
“Bloody hell, everyone in this family is so dramatic,” I look over Klaus’ shoulder to where Rebekah is leaving the room.
“Good night Rebekah,” I call and she waves her hand.
“I should probably go check on Elijah,” I say to Klaus, and begin to move past him, but as I graze his shoulder, a gasp escapes my lips as I’m whipped back around and Klaus’ lips are pressed onto mine.
It takes me a moment before I process what’s happening, but after a second I’m drowning in Klaus’ lips. I reach my hand up and run my fingers through Klaus’ dark blonde hair and suck in a breath as I feel Klaus’ toungue fight its way into my mouth. I don’t put up a fight and open my mouth slightly more to grant him leeway. He uses this opportunity to sink his tongue into my mouth and massage my tongue with his. I feel Klaus’ hand lower from my upper back down towards my ass and it doesn’t take him but another second to use his big hand to squeeze it, making me gasp.
“Fuck,” Klaus takes his toungue from my mouth and uses his teeth to pull on my lower lip.
“You’re perfect.”
I feel the tips of my ears warm at his comment and I use all my strength to shove him slightly back.
“You’re distracting.”
Klaus’s blue eyes are no longer dark, instead they have a small shine in them that makes them look similar to a small pond in springtime.
Klaus leans down to meet my eye level, “You seem to like how distracting I am.”
I fight back a smirk, “Shut up, Mutt.”
Klaus smiles at me. Not his usual smirk, or his annoying ass snarl, but an actual smile.
“You should do that more,” I point to his face and his eyebrows furrow.
“Do what?”
“Smile.”
Klaus smirks, “I do smile a lot.”
I shake my head, “Nah, you smirk a lot. Like you’re doing right now. I mean an actual smile. You have a pretty one.”
My comment seems to have taken Klaus aback and he clears his throat, “I am not pretty.”
I smirk at him, “Oh yes you are. You’re so pretty.”
I don’t give him the chance to rebut my statement as I lean forward and place a quick kiss to his warm cheek.
I quickly move past him and head towards the stairs where Elijah went.
“Thank you,” Klaus’ voice comes from behind me.
“For calling you pretty? Anytime,” I turn over my shoulder and wink at him and he rolls his eyes.
“No. Not for that. For burning the white oak and protecting myself and my family.”
I shrug, “All in a day's work.”
—
I release a shaky breath as I knock on Elijah’s door. I hum to myself as I wait for a response and it takes another moment before I hear a low, “Come in.”
I grab the nob and gently open the door. I’m not quite sure why I’m being so cautious. I’m not scared of Elijah by any means but I just have an uneasy feeling in my stomach. It’s been there since I saw him make his way up the stairs earlier.
I open the door and step in. I glance around the dimly lit room, and a smell of leather, bourbon and something earthy fills my nose.
“Elijah?”
“What, Y/n?”
I whip my head to see Elijah exiting from an adjoining room. His suit jacket is off and his white button up is rolled up at the elbows. I watch as he walks behind a dark wooden desk and sits down in a maroon leather chair. He grabs a glass bottle of some dark liquor and pours it into a glass.
I continue to watch silently as he downs the glass in one go and then begins to pour himself another.
“Are you alright?”
Elijah holds the glass in his hand as he leans back in his chair. For the first time tonight he finally meets my eye.
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
His normally calm gaze his gone and replaced by a look I’ve never seen on him before. It unsettles me. I’m not sure if in a good way or bad.
“You left quite quickly,’’ I say softly.
Elijah is silent for a moment, giving me more time to glance around his room. Dark wooden bookshelves line the walls from corner to corner, filled with hundreds of books that appear to be of all ages. A grand stone fireplace is at the forefront of the room, and a small couch is planted in front of it, and a king-size bed with dark blue bedding is to my left. All of it is so him. So, Elijah.
“Hmm.”
Elijah’s hum almost sounds sarcastic, which makes me raise an eyebrow at him.
“What?”
Elijah looks back towards his drink and mixes it, “How's your burn?”
I eye the red burnt skin on my arm and then slit my eyes at Elijah.
“It’s fine. Why do you ask?”
My answer seems to have amused Elijah because he huffs out a laugh and then downs the rest of his drink.
He puts the glass back down so hard I’m surprised it didn’t shatter.
“Why do I ask? Why did I ask?!”
Elijah runs a hand over his face and then undoes the top two buttons of his shirt. He stands up from his chair and places his hands atop his desk and stares at me. His dark brown eyes are black in this light and I notice the frantic ticking in his jaw.
Oh.
He’s pissed.
“Elijah…did I do something to make you mad?”
I take a small step into the room and Elijah’s eyes mark every move I make. With Klaus there were many moments where I felt like the prey and he the predator, but never with Elijah. Not until now. Something about the way his left index finger keeps tapping his desk, his clenched jaw, and his dark eyes make me feel like he could pounce at any moment and I wouldn’t be able to do anything.
“Did you?”
Again his reply comes out almost mocking and if I weren’t dealing with a ticking time bomb right now I’d probably yell at this bitch.
“Elijah, if I did something to make you upset I need to know what that thing is before I can apologize,” I try to reason with him as I take another cautious step forward.
Elijah tilts his head, “And if I said I didn’t want your apologies?”
Ok. Now I’m getting annoyed.
I shrug, “Then I can just leave you to be in your mood and we can talk tomorrow when you want to discuss things like adults.”
Elijah’s lips twitch into a dark smirk, “Like adults? Really? And who exactly here is an adult? You?”
I frown at Elijah’s tone, it’s something cruelly sarcastic and for the first time since meeting Elijah I realize I’ve never seen him this unnerving. And I’ve literally watched him murder people.
“Why are you being like this?”
Elijah moves his hands off his desk, stands to his full height, and begins to move from behind his desk. I watch with bated breath as he comes around the desk to stand in front of it. He leans back against it, using his arms to hold himself up and places his right leg over his left. If someone were to walk in right now, it would almost appear that he was relaxed or casual, but as soon as they’d notice the gleam in his dark eyes, they knew they’d have been mistaken.
“Come here,” He says simply.
I furrow my eyebrows and shake my head, “What? No. You don’t get to just beckon me after being rude.”
“Y/n, come.”
His tone leaves no room for argument so I do what he says. God I’m a little bitch.
I take a few steps forward and eye the man in front of me, Elijah watches my every move like a hawk.
I stamp my feet into the ground and pretend to bow, “Happy now.”
Elijah narrows his eyes, “Don’t be a brat.”
I choke on my words at the tone he uses to say “Brat.” God Damnit. Wait.
Am I turned on right now?
No.
No?
Definitely not.
I think…
“I am not a brat,” I counter.
Elijah raises an eyebrow and then raises his hand and uses his index finger to call me closer.
“No. If you want to be fucking face to face you come over here,” I finally stand my ground.
Not thinking he would actually listen to me, you could imagine my surprise when he pushes himself off the desk and practically stalks towards me. My mind pretty much goes blank as he comes to stand so close, the tips of our shoes are touching.
We’re both silent as we stare back at one another. Or more so I slightly glare at him while he accesses me.
“Do you know how irresponsible you were tonight?”
I frown, “Excuse me? What the fuck do you mean irresponsible?”
“I think it would be in your best interest right now if you watched that mouth of yours. I’m already fighting back every thought in my mind to not punish you for the actions you’ve made tonight. Those nasty words coming out of your mouth are not easing any of those thoughts.”
Punish me? Who the fuck is this guy and where is my sweet blushing Elijah?!
“Elijah dude, I think you just need to chill out, alright?”
Elijah’s upper lip twitches and I realize I’ve said the wrong thing.
“Number one, Gemæcca, I am not your dude. So stop referring to me as such, and number two, I will not “chill out” especially after how childish you acted tonight.”
Alright fuck this guy.
Oh, I’m sure you want to freak.
Shut up!
“Is this about the fire? Is this why you’re being such a dick right now?”
My language seems to piss Elijah off even more, “I’m being a “dick” right now because my mate seems to have no sense of self preservation or thought.”
I clench my hand over and over again to not start throwing punches with this bitch.
“What did you just say to me,” I bite out.
“I said I was done with dealing with you, just throwing yourself into stupid and idiotic situations when your life is too fragile. Niklaus may get proud and turned on enough to swallow your tongue in our foyer at the thought of you putting yourself into danger like you did tonight,” Elijah leans down so our faces are a mere few inches apart, “But I assure you, I do not.”
Oh so he heard that. Oops.
“Well, maybe I let Klaus stick his tongue down my throat because unlike you he doesn’t treat me like a child, Elijah. Ever think of that?”
Elijah narrows his eyes at me, “I do not think of you as a child. But, when you make childish decisions that put you into harm's way-”
“I can make my own decisions, Elijah!”
“Just because you can doesn’t mean you always fucking should!”
Elijah’s booming voice shocks me and makes me step back.
He must’ve realized he went too far because his face drops slightly, and he rubs his hand over his face again.
“Elskan I-”
“No, Elijah, don’t apologize. I should be the one apologizing to you, how sorry I am that you had to end up with such a childish annoyance as a mate. Sad and poor Elijah,” I fake a frown and then go back to glaring at the man.
Elijah’s face darkens and he closes the gap between us and before I can react his hand is grabbing my lower face, “Your existence has never and will never be an annoyance to me. Do you understand that, Y/n? Never. Do you not realize the decisions you make don’t just affect you but everyone around you? If something were to happen to you, if you were to,” He releases a harsh breath, “If you were to die, do you not understand the pain and ruin you would be leaving behind? What of Theo? What of your friends? What of Klaus or I?”
Elijah uses both of his hands to push my face closer to his, “Y/n, I need you to understand this, if you were to perish…I would not survive it,” Elijah clenches his jaw and shakes his head as if just the thought of me dying is too much for him to bear, “Do you know I’ve already decided what I would do if something were to happen to you? I would make my brother dagger me in my heart and put me out of my bloody misery because leaving in my mind and being cursed by that bloody dagger until the end of time would still be an easier burden to bear than having to wake up every morning knowing that I would never lay eyes on the love of my life ever again.”
I don’t even realize I’m crying until Elijah’s thumb brushes away a stray tear.
“So yes I am mad, Y/n. I am enraged that you do not realize that every fleeting decision you make, every wound you collect,” He grabs my arm and makes me look at my burnt skin, “Isn’t the most horrifying thing to me. When I saw you walk in smelling like smoke, and burnt skin, I couldn’t bear it. I can’t bear it. Never in a thousand years have I felt the type of pain you bring me.”
I stare wide-eyed at Elijah and don’t speak. I don’t speak because I truly, for the first time in my entire life, have no idea what to say.
Elijah must realize this because after a moment of silence, he leans down and places a soft kiss right next to my lips, he leans back slightly and looks at me, and I lean back into him. Elijah leans down again but this time kisses my lips. He leans back after a moment with a clenched jaw.
“You smell like my brother.”
I reach my hand up and run it along his face, “Then make me smell like you.”
*start of smut*
In a flash my body is moved so my back is pressed to Elijah’s front and his mouth is attached to my throat. I release a low moan as Elijah's teeth graze my neck and I angle my head so he can have better access. He takes this opportunity to run his tongue along my throat and this is when I feel his sharp canines graze my skin.
“You can,” I turn my head to look at him, which was honestly a mistake because the crazed look in his eyes is making me feel things I don’t even think I felt while reading Fifty Shades.
Elijah shakes his head, “Did I not just talk to you about wounds?”
I shake my head, “You can heal me after, do it Elijah. I want you to.”
Dark veins appear under Elijah’s eyes and I reach out to run my finger over them, making Elijah release a low groan. Elijah pulls me in by my hair and smashes his lips to mine. A fast movement later and Elijah has his hands on my ass and my legs are wrapped around his neck as he carries me to his desk.
His mouth is still on mine as he swipes a hand over his desk and everything on it goes flying off. I hear glass breaking, which turns my attention, and I go to say something, but Elijah sucking and kssing my neck makes my mind go blank.
“Holy fuck,” I feel myself clench my legs together but am blocked by Elijah’s frame.
I feel Elijah’s smirk before I hear it, “Language, Elskan, or I’ll stop.”
“Oh God, please don’t.”
Elijah places another kiss to my neck before looking back up to me. It takes me only a moment to realize he’s checking to see if I’m alright.
“I said you could, Lijah” I stretch my neck so he has more room.
Elijah slowly nods his head and begins to press more gentle kisses to my neck but as I feel his fangs graze my neck, I release a deep breath. Not another second goes by before I’m closing my eyes in pain, from the sharp searing in my neck. I release a shaky breath but oddly enough the pain starts to change into…something more pleasurable after a moment. Don’t get me wrong it still hurts like a bitch but with the mix of Elijah’s sucking, his toungue cleaning the wound, and his hands: which have now found themselves massaging my underwear line, all of it is so…fucking good.
Elijah licks up my neck once more before standing back and staring at me. I feel a cold liquid run down my neck and I watch as a line of dark crimson blood flows from my neck down over my chest and through the valley of my breasts, staining my white pajama top. And holy fuck I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t the hottest thing I’ve ever fucking seen.
I look up to Elijah…I stand corrected. The blood was the second hottest thing, because the look on Elijah’s face right now, a look of pure depravity, is definitely the hottest thing that I have ever laid my eyes on.
“Poetry was created to describe women that look like you.”
Elijah’s words come out rushed and breathless as he runs his eyes over my body, as if he can’t believe he’s seeing me like this. And honestly if you told me 20 minutes ago I’d be bleeding on Elijah’s desk all hot and bothered I’d laugh in your face. But right now all I want is this man between my legs and his lips on mine.
Never thought I’d say those words either.
Elijah takes a step towards me and but stops as he sniffs the air.
“What?”
Fuck right now would be a horrible time to forget deodorant.
“You smell like gasoline,” Elijah says darkly.
“Oh…sorry.”
“Take your shirt off,” He takes a step forward and I notice the dark look he had on his face from before is back.
“Take my…”
“Your shirt. Take it off.”
Elijah’s words come out simple and harsh and without even thinking about it I grab the hem of my night shirt and pull it over my head and toss it behind me.
“Good girl. Now the pants.”
I raise my eyebrows in surprise.
“Excuse me? You do it,” I say bewildered.
Elijah quickly steps forward and within a second he fucking RIPS my sleep short into two leaving my sitting on his desk in my fucking bra and undies.
“Elijah, I meant you take off your pants!”
Elijah leans back and his eyes slowly make their way down my body and oddly enough I don’t feel an ounce of shame. Usually when it comes to my looks and body there's always that voice in the back of my head telling me that I’m too ugly or too much in some places but right now, right here with Elijah I don’t hear that voice. All I can focus on is the man before me who is looking at me like I’m the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.
“I much prefer you without pants than myself,” Elijah remarks and I use my foot to push him slightly.
We stare at each other for a moment before Elijah gets a gleam in his eye and he leans down to press a soft kiss to my cheek. He then kisses my lips, then my neck, then the valley between my breasts taking the moment to swipe a finger over my blood and painting it across my chest, he then presses that hand onto my chest and pushes me so I’m laying flat on my back, I stare at the ceiling as I continue to feel Elijah plant kisses over my stomach. I feel his hand grab my ankle and I lean up on my elbows to watch as he places a chaste kiss to my inner ankle.
“What are you doing,” I give him a tilt of my head, and a nervous smile.
Elijah smirks and I watch confused until he drops to his knees in front of me.
Oh.
OH!
“Elijah, what are you doing?”
A squeak leaves my mouth as Elijah grabs my thighs and pulls me to the edge of the desk.
Elijah places a kiss to my inner thigh, “I want to show you just a fraction of how you make me feel. Can I?”
Fuck we love a man that asks for consent.
“I’ve never…I mean no one's ever…,” I gesture towards down there hoping he gets the idea and Elijah’s eyes darken.
“I’ve guessed.”
I don’t really take offence to that because I quite literally scream “VIRGIN.”
“You don’t have to,” I shake my head.
Elijah gives me a bewildered look, “Trust me, Elskan. The image of me between your legs is something that has haunted my greatest dreams and nightmares since the moment Rose-Marie brought you to me. This will be more of a gift to me than it will be to you. I give you my word.”
All I do is nod, because HOLY HELL.
“Words Elskan. I need words,” Elijah chastises.
“Yes. Um, yes, please.”
As soon as the words leave my mouth, Elijah’s mouth presses itself to my clothed core.
“Holy shit!”
I throw my head back onto the desk as I feel Elijah swipe his tongue over my core through my now very soaked underwear. I let out a sound I didn’t even know I could release as I feel Elijah’s tongue take one more swipe, starting from my clit to my hole.
I loud snap and a wave of cold air against my cunt makes me realize Elijah just ripped another piece of my clothing. I go to chastise him, but go fucking blank in the mind as I feel Elijah finger run itself through my folds.
“Oh fuck, Elijah,” I breathe out through shallowed breath.
“You’re doing so good, Elskan. Smell so fucking sweet. I bet you taste even sweeter.”
Elijah’s words only make me close my eyes and pray that any of my dead ancestors are not watching this sinful act.
Like he’s been starved his entire fucking life Elijah dives his head into my core and swipes his tongue everywhere.
My eyes roll to the back of my head.
“I was right,” I hear Elijah say to himself, “Just like nectar.”
Elijah doesn’t give me a second to adjust because the next thing I feel is his thick finger enter my throbbing hole.
“So tight, so perfect,” Elijah says as he massages my inside with his finger and-
“OH FUCK!”
Elijah’s finger curls inside me and if every Smutty book I’ve read is true then I’m pretty sure he just hit that spot.
Elijah fucking chuckles! And then dares to enter another finger. I let out a breath of pain at the sudden tightness but release a breath of pleasure as Elijah leans down and begins sucking on my clit.
A tight feeling builds in my lower gut and I feel like I can’t breathe.
“Elijah…I-”
“Let go for me Elskan, I want to see you cum on my fingers.”
Elijah’s nasty mouth, literally, is all I needed to hear before an unbearable wave of pleasure flows through me and I feel my whole body tighten.
“Elijah!”
I throw my head back onto the desk in exhaustion as my lungs fight for breath.
I feel Elijah presses a soft kiss to my center, making me squirm from sensitivity.
“You did so well, My love.”
*End of smut*
I absentmindedly nod as I feel Elijah pick me up bridal style. I open my eyes as Elijah places me carefully on my two shaking feet. He presses a soft kiss to the side of my face before walking over to a white claw foot tub. Oh. We’re in his bathroom.
I watch half naked and kind of self-conscious now as Elijah turns the tub on, and adds soap, making the water bubble up.
“Come,” He reaches out his hand for me to take and I fight the urge to crack a joke at his words. He gives me a look which I’m guessing means he already knew I was going to tell a joke. I take his hand and slowly dip down into the warm water.
A low hiss escapes my mouth as my core touches the water and I feel a sharp pain.
“You might be sore for a little while,” Elijah comments as he comes to sit beside me. He reaches his hand to the latch of my bra and I nod giving him the okay to take it off. As he slides the bra straps down my arms, he places feather like kisses to my shoulder.
“Was I too rough,” His words come out hushes as if he’s afraid of my answer.
I shake my head, “No,” I lean down into the water so the bubbles come up to my upper chest, “You were good.”
Elijah chuckles, “Just good?”
I shrug playfully, “I’d give you a good 7.5.”
Elijah lets out a loud laugh, “Oh really? I must have misheard you because I thought I heard you scream out my name over half a dozen times. My mistake.”
I use a sud-covered hand to shove him.
“How is it that I’m completely naked and you’re still dressed in head to toe Versace?”
Elijah shrugs, “Is that a problem?”
I lean forward and start undoing his buttons, “You could at least lose the button up.”
Elijah smirks but still agrees as he undoes his top leaving him in a wife beater.
Elijah takes a glass from beside him and fills it up with water before pouring it over my hair. I lay back and close my eyes as Elijah makes work with shampooing my hair, his fingers massaging circles into my scalp.
“Feels. So. Good.”
—
My eyes open briefly as I feel myself being carried again.
I look around confused for a moment before I hear Elijah’s voice.
“Go back to sleep, Elskan. Everything’s alright. I’m right here.”
Can you write a Klaus Mikaelson x omega!reader fic where the reader is a rare omega trying to hide from alphas during her heat, but Klaus catches her scent and loses control?
Maybe she’s terrified of him at first, but Klaus’s instincts won’t let him leave her alone—he tracks her down, locks her away, and tells her he’s the only one strong enough to “handle” her. He goes full possessive/feral alpha.
Persistent Alpha-Alpha!Klaus
It wasn’t anything new for Y/n. She’d been avoiding Alphas all her life-Klaus however was different…determined…
Alphas that chased her would eventually find something else to chase or distract them-Y/n would find a cute Beta to shove in their path and they would be gone. She had tried to do the same thing with Klaus-attempting to distract him with Caroline, knowing that that perfect blond vampire had a thing for the Hybrid however he didn’t even give her the time of day-actually seeming annoyed by her presence/voice/scent-all of it.
He only wanted her.
Y/n was a member of one of the few lines of extremely rare Omegas. Her line, along with 5 others (2 of which had died off centuries ago) were strong smelling, extremely fertile Omegas. Many Alphas were overwhelmed by her scent and actually avoided her because of it-the strong scent being too much for them to be around.
Klaus Mikaelson however, didn’t seem to have that problem.
No matter what she did she couldn’t shake him, he followed her everywhere. If she was walking somewhere she would see his wolf in the woods following her until she got there, If she was in town she would often see him out the window. If she was at the grille with her friends he was at the bar watching over her and though she would never admit it-his presence made her feel pretty and wanted-something no other Alpha had ever made her feel.
Still, she tried to get him to go for Caroline, not wanting a mate but he still never took the bait. She did try harder though, Caroline seemed determined to make the Hybrid want her and that also seemed to be what finally pushed the near-feral-for-her-Alpha a bit too far.
Caroline had cornered him at the Grille as he and Kol played pool (though it was mostly just Kol as Klaus watched over Y/n) and something in Y/n didn’t like seeing the Barbie vampire running her hands all over his chest. As she leaned in and shoved her lips against his though she’d had enough, getting up and leaving the Grille to head back to the Boarding House-feeling completely overwhelmed.
She needed to get herself under control. She had never wanted an Alpha before (other than craving affection and touch-mostly during her heats) so she couldn’t figure out why her Omega was so needy for Klaus but she tried very hard to keep her mind on anything else. She had been so focused on Klaus for days, her mind becoming frazzled and scared, that she hadn’t noticed the change in her as her heat approached.
As she walked through town she noticed people looking at her…she noticed Alphas looking at her as she tried to speed up.
‘Hey Y/n-are you alright?’ A deep voice asked and she turned her head to see Shane-an Alpha that had graduated a year before her-his scent was immediately heavy and loud-as if announcing to everyone that he was showing off to court this Omega.
‘Is he bothering you? Leave her alone Shane-you can come with me Y/n, let’s get you somewhere safe, huh?’ This Alpha was an ex of Elena’s from several years before and he was puffing out his chest-growling as 2 more Alphas she barely recognized came closer.
‘Please? Please stop…I can’t-I can’t…can’t breathe…’ she was gasping for air that she felt like she couldn’t get deep enough into her lungs as her world began spinning-the overwhelming scent of Alphas smothering her.
Her legs gave out and someone caught her which began a loud explosion of growls all around her-Y/n shutting her eyes and pulling her knees to her chest as she was bumped around, loud snarls and roars now making her feel like her ear drums were going to pop. Through all of the hazy scents in the air she could smell one that wasn’t driving her crazy-the scent of pine trees and the forests after a heavy rain-it cut through everything else and gave her some comfort.
‘Hey, let’s get you out of here hun.’ This voice was deep and grainy and the hands that lifted her felt like they burned on her bare skin making her whimper and try to pull away. Her head felt like it was full of cotton-everything was muffled and off but a moment later that burning on her skin was gone and she was held against a strong chest-the lovely scent now surrounding her as she heard more growls and loud cries of pain.
She finally held tightly to someone and the growls and voices stopped before she was placed into a comfortable bed with that same wonderful scent. She held tightly to an Alpha that didn’t let her go, clutching him like a lifeline until her foggy mind finally cleared again.
Hungry? She was hungry. Her stomach growled in agreement as she thought this but as the skin on hers began moving she clutched her hands tighter-refusing to let go.
‘Alright, it’s okay. I’ll have someone bring us something, just relax gorgeous-Shh, you’re safe. Alpha is not leaving you.’ She kept her grip on the Alpha, her hands trailing up under his shirt making her body relax as she felt her fingers touch his skin. ‘It’s okay, you touch all you need to pup. Such a good Omega you are, so good. Shh…’ as the Alpha shushed her she held tight to him, bringing his hand close to her face and wrapping her lips around his thumb before she could even think about what she was doing. ‘Oh fuck-such a sweet Omega you are, aren’t you. Does sucking like a good little pup make you feel better? Hmm? You suck on your Alpha as much as you need.’ Y/n whined as he said that, giving her permission while her hands reached down to his belt, tugging at it pathetically. ‘Oh no precious-you don’t have to-‘ she cut him off as she got the belt open and whimpered pathetically when she couldn’t get his pants open. ‘Okay, okay! Alright little love-you suckle on Alpha all you need to.’ He promised, tugging his pants down just enough to free his hard cock-moaning as she got her lips around it. ‘Such a sweet Omega-God I’m so fucking lucky!’
Y/n had never heard an Alpha talk to her the way this one was and she loved it-all the sweet names, the soft voice that Alphas so rarely display while she is in distress, the gentle hands not pushing her anywhere-just letting her do what she needed-never before had she met an Alpha this kind-and she couldn’t even force herself to focus enough to thank him.
As she felt his fingers run through her hair she closed her eyes and suckled harder, the musky Alpha scent relaxing her tense muscles and giving her a chance to finally calm down. ‘You coming back to me, love? Your eyes are clearing up…you went into heat surrounded by Alphas-your head is gonna feel a bit fuzzy for a while. It’s alright, precious-you just keep sucklin’ like a good little girl.’ He spoke, running his fingers through her hair. ‘My good girl-Alpha is right here.’
Y/n looked up from where her head was resting on his lap and could see those familiar blue eyes that had been watching her for weeks-Klaus had saved her…after she’d tried to pawn him off on Caroline, he’d still saved her. The Hybrid ran his fingers through her hair as she continued to suckle on him, his thick cock stretching her mouth around it but he didn’t move-clearly desperate for more according to his scent but he never moved even an inch. She curled her tongue around the tip as she pulled back before pushing back down on him.
‘No Omega-you don’t need to-Ah! Oh fuck…g-good Omega-oh such a good little girl…’ he growled, fangs bared as she took him into her throat. ‘A-Alphas so close baby-oh Fuck!’ Klaus moaned, fingers running through her hair before she felt his cock twitch and she pulled back, swallowing everything that her Alpha gave her making her hum excitedly. ‘You like that? Does my Omega like suckling on her Alphas cum? Hmm? My sweet little slut, drinking my cum down like a good little girl-oh fuck…wouldn’t you much rather Alpha give you my cum up in your belly? Hmm? I know you need it-need Alpha to rut you so good-and I will-Alpha will fill your little womb with all of my cum just for you, fill you with my pups…you’ll give your Alpha pups, won’t you?’ She nodded quickly, feeling slick leaking from her hole as she moved to climb up his chest, his hands ripping her clothes all off and tossing them aside. Just as she had his slick cock pressed to her hole there was a knock on the door and her Alpha growled angrily-a sound she was instantly glad wasn’t directed at her.
‘Niklaus? Miss.Forbes is at the door looking for you?’ Elijah’s voice spoke up and Y/n felt her heart nearly leap from her chest as she whined.
‘Oh baby, no! Shh…hush now precious, all yours, Alpha is all yours my good girl. Shh…let her in.’ The Omega in his lap looked up at him abruptly but he just pulled her closer to his chest and pushed his cock up into her dripping hole.
‘Alpha…’ Y/n breathed, his arms holding her still as the Beta walked into the room-stopping short as she saw the naked Omega on his lap.
‘What the fuck…but you-‘
‘Am only attracted to Omegas-that’s right Caroline.’ He spoke before thrusting up into his Omega as deep as he could. ‘I tried to tell you that but you didn’t listen.’
‘But she gave you to me! She didn’t want you!’ Caroline whined prompting the growl that sprung from the Omega which came out much more like a hiss than anything.
‘Mine!’ Y/n hissed, her claws digging into Klaus’ shoulders and making him moan.
‘Oh Fuck, all yours lovely Omega, Shh, all yours. Now be a good little Omega and let-Ah! Just let Alpha rut this needy little cunt! Fuck!’ He growled, thrusting up into her slick hole and loving her sweet little sounds as he rut his cock up into her. ‘Good Omega-I think that’s enough of the visual lesson-get out Caroline.’ Klaus growled, his warning seeming to get her attention.
‘Come find me when you’re done with the Omega and maybe I’ll forgive you.’ She told him, glaring at Y/n who did actually move to jump on her this time-though Klaus held her to himself too tightly.
‘Elijah! Get her out!’ The Alpha demanded, his brother grabbing ahold of the young vampire and dragged her from the room. ‘Hush now Omega, cum for your Alpha like a good little girl! Cum on my cock so that Alpha can fill your needy little belly with my pups! Cum on my cock precious!’ He demanded, his needy Omega unable to refuse.
‘Alpha!’ She whined as she came, her sharp canines pressing against his neck but never biting down.
‘Go ahead Omega-do it!’ Klaus demanded and she snarled, digging her fangs into his neck and marking him with her scent. ‘Good girl! Gonna take my knot now Omega! Gonna take my knot and start growing my pups up in this belly! Oh Fuck! Be my good Omega-give me babies!’ He demanded, growling and shoving his knot as deep into her cunt as he could, fangs digging into her throat as he pumped her belly full of his cum.
‘Ahh! Alpha! Fill me up! Want your pups! Please?! Please?’ She whined, claws digging into his shoulders as she tried to pull him even closer.
‘No need to beg Love, Alpha will always fill your needy belly. My perfect little Omega is gonna give me perfect pups. Good girl…’ he shushed her, kissing her head and rubbing her back gently as he watched her drift off to sleep, contently filling her womb once more before allowing himself to sleep with his Omega resting contently on his chest.

ENGLAND, 1492
“I couldn’t comprehend why a Lord like you would spend time with me on such a fine day.” You let the delicate rose petals graze your linen-soft palms, smiling at yourself when a gold-linen butterfly flutters above your knuckles. Gravel crunches behind you, and you immediately felt his hot breath fan your neck. Always like a storm brewing.
“Because you’re good company.” Klaus’s voice penetrates deep into your bones. His hand found your waist again like they always do. Always inconsiderate about how the castle he takes you are in full view by the castle’s staff and other noblemen. “I can’t imagine spending my days any other way. And I’m fully aware that you enjoy our little dalliance. Perhaps more than I do.”
A shallow exhale escapes you, fear and confusion warring in your system at once. “You weren’t supposed to learn of my true intentions. But why aren’t you scandalized? Why do you continue to choose me as your company?” You spin around and Klaus’ Antarctic blue eyes immediately bore into your soul. His small smile made your heart skip a beat. “Men aren’t supposed to fall for their fellow men. The scriptures say so.”
“I don’t believe in written rules, boy. There are far greater forces in this world than some written prohibition. There’s no need to fear them.” Klaus holds your face with the same refinement as he gives the artifacts in his castle. His curly locks falling on his shoulders. “Your desire to be with me should be enough reason to break free from any chain holding you back.”
“But—” The protest quickly dies in your throat when Klaus brings his lips to yours. The turmoil of falling for him was immediately unleashed, replaced by the satisfaction coursing through your veins. A great tragedy and salvation all in one kiss.
When Klaus pulls away, it feels like he has taken a part of you with him. “Do you want to be with me forever?”
“That isn’t possible.” You laugh, his hands landing on the sleeves of your doublet.
“You’d be surprised about what I could do to keep seeing your handsome face for eternity.” Klaus thumbs your chin, before his gaze grows darker. His voice deepens, his accent thick. “So tell me, do you want to be with me forever?”
You nod your head, thinking he was just trying to be romantic. “Yes, Klaus, I want to be with you forever.”
Klaus’ grin widens. For a second, you thought he just shared the same happiness overcoming your heart. But two of his teeth suddenly grow larger, sharper, like a canine’s. His eyes turn bloodshot. Before you could even react, before the stories about the creatures of the night came flooding back, he brought his mouth to your neck and clamped down hard.
“Klaus! Stop! Please stop!” You plead through the tearing pain on your esophagus. You pound on his chest, clawed on the luxurious sleeves of his doublet, yet nothing seemed to work. The suctioning sounds continues. You feel life slowly slipping away from you, disappearing in the blur of white around the edges of your vision.
Finally, Klaus pulls away. A gratuitous smile playing on his blood-soaked lips, dripping down his defined chin. “This’ll hurt love, but we’d be together forever.”
You hear bone snapping before everything went dark.
CHICAGO, 1920
Klaus’s hands are immediately on yours when the first shots rang, shattering the picture-perfect night at the speakeasy into a million broken pieces. He didn’t run out the door like most self-preserving men are. He didn’t even look for his sister. He ran across the room and pulled you away from his father’s wooden bullets and white oak daggers.
The run wasn’t something new. You’ve been running with Klaus for 425 years. Four centuries since he killed you and forced you to feed on people. About a hundred fifty thousand days since he promised you forever but never told you the cost.
Klaus only stops dragging you through the city when the certainty of distance overcomes him. He shoves you against the brick wall of an alleyway, red neon lights drawing shadows across his eternally handsome face. His long hair was gone, the dirty blond strands now streaked back to blend into the era. “That was close,” He breathes, still holding you tight. “Are you alright, my love?”
“How about Rebekah?” You look up at his never-changing gaze, panicking at the thought of your only friend being captured. “We have to go back for her, Klaus—”
“My sister could handle herself. She’s not as helpless as you are.” The adrenaline wounds your head so tight that you didn’t realize Klaus’ lips were on you already. Rough movements against your soft flesh. His tongue parts your lips and brushes against your teeth and gums. Despite all the time that has passed, he’s never gotten tired of your devouring you. “God, I wouldn’t know what to do without you.” He whispers hotly against your lips, rubbing his thumbpad on your cheek.
“I’m tired, Klaus.” You whimper as he presses his larger body on yours, dwarfing your entire frame. You grip his bowtie, searching for an anchor when his mere gaze was still enough to make you drown. “I’m tired of running. Aren’t you satisfied with the time you lived? The years we spent together?”
“No, it’s not enough. Not when I’m still cursed. I’m not fully with you.” Klaus cranes his neck down to press his forehead on yours. Sweat dripping onto your skin. “Are you getting tired of our life, boy? We can run off to another continent if you want to—”
“This isn’t living, Klaus! Running from your father is not a life. Having to compel every stranger we connect with is no life.” Tears form around your eyelids, bringing a blur to your view of him. Jaw tight, Klaus still wipes the tears away. “I never got to be a normal teenager. A normal person. You hold my hand pull me away from danger but all it does is make me lonelier.”
His grip on your arms tightens. “You make me less lonely, pretty boy. I wouldn’t be trying so damn hard to become a hybrid if it wasn’t for you. You’re all I need to keep waiting and trying.” Klaus drops his head to the crook of your neck. “Stay with me. Someday we’d be living the way you want to. You just have to be patient with me.”
“No, Klaus. Let me leave. Please. I want to pass on my own terms now.” You sobbed, inhaling his potent whisky scent with a hint of the earth.
“No, I won’t let you do that to yourself.” Klaus growls, facing you. He holds your face tight, forcing you to meet his eyes. “You won’t do anything to harm yourself. Ever. You’re mine.” His iris dilates, and suddenly the will to end it all disappears.
But the will to run remains. Still, you let yourself collapse in Klaus’ embrace. You still draw most of your strength from the monster who has defied all your wishes.
MYSTIC FALLS, 2011
It’s been 50 years since you escaped Klaus. He might’ve compelled you from ever taking your own death in your own hands, but he didn’t compel you to never escape his grasp. Since then, you’ve attended high school two times for the hell of it. Finished art and film degrees at Windsor College. But you always made your way back to the home you built for yourself in Mystic Falls. There’s not much to hate in a town where nothing ever happens.
At least until you overheard that Klaus was successful in turning into a hybrid.
You only packed the essentials in two rolling luggage and a duffel bag, but when you close the trunk of your minivan, his reflection stands behind you. Still the most handsome man you’ve seen in the years you’ve spent in Earth. Still the only one who could take your breath away. And still the one who always makes you fear for your freedom.
Klaus says your name with his never changing old accent, and you fight the urge to simply collapse in his arms again. “It’s been a long time. How are you?”
“I’m surprised it took you so long to find me.” You turn around, and you’re reminded of that fateful afternoon in the garden. A simple attraction that both ruined you and gave you life. “Heard you were successful.”
“You I think I didn’t know where you ran off all these years? I just knew that you needed the space, my love.” Klaus crowds you against the vehicle, reaching forward and holding your face. “Had I known the doppelgänger was here then I would’ve come earlier. I’m complete now. We can be together. I’ll rule the world with you by my side and I’m not taking no for an answer.”
“You killed innocents, Klaus.” You try to push him away, but he remained like a rock. His arms on either side of you. “Jenna and Elena were some of the nicest people I knew in this town.”
“They don’t matter in the grand scheme of things, darling.” Klaus smiled. “We killed so many in the past too. I had to do what needed to be done.”
“You could’ve spared the world from your wrath. You could’ve spared me and not come back into my life.” You spit it out. “Do you know that I finally didn’t feel so sad in all the nicest places? I got to breathe. I got to experience the world. I got to live a life.”
“And I could give you so much more now. I could give you the world you want so much.” Klaus brushes your lips with his. “Or you could walk away from me again. It’s your choice.” He steps to the side and allows you a space to run and leave with the car.
But looking at him, his handsome smile and knowing eyes, it crumbled the walls that you built to protect yourself from him. You craved his touch. His lips. His lies. His promises. His loneliness.
When you finally entered the car, Klaus sat on the passenger seat. Holding your free hand once again. The way he holds you for eternity.

Summary: Where on a night out with Klaus, Elijah and Hayley until someone knocks you and Klaus isn't happy
Word Count: 2.3K
The streets of New Orleans pulsed with energy, a kaleidoscope of lights, music, and voices blending into the lively backdrop. Klaus walked beside you, his hand resting possessively on the small of your back, guiding you through the throngs of revelers. The warmth of his touch sent a tingle up your spine, a stark contrast to the cool night air.
“We could’ve stayed in,” you teased, glancing up at him. “You’re not exactly the pub-going type.”
“Nonsense, love,” Klaus replied with a devilish grin. “I can appreciate a fine drink in the company of friends. Besides, Elijah insisted.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Elijah insisted? Or Elijah suggested, and you’re going along to make sure no one tries to control the evening?”
His laugh was low and rumbling. “Do you know me so well already?”
Moments later, the two of you reached the pub, its warm glow spilling onto the cobblestone street. Music wafted out as Klaus opened the heavy wooden door for you, his usual gentlemanly demeanor intact. Inside, the pub was bustling, its vintage charm enhanced by polished wood, dim lanterns, and the hum of conversation.
In a corner booth near the back, Elijah and Hayley were already seated. Elijah was the picture of elegance, as always, his suit crisp and his posture impeccable. Hayley, in contrast, had an easy, relaxed air, her arms crossed as she sipped from her glass. She spotted you first and waved you over.
“Finally!” she exclaimed as you approached. “I was starting to think you two got lost.”
Elijah rose smoothly, greeting you with a nod. “Always a pleasure,” he said, his gaze lingering on Klaus. “And you’re punctual as ever.”
“I’m here, aren’t I?” Klaus quipped, sliding into the booth and tugging you down beside him.
“Let’s see how long it takes for him to start trouble,” Hayley whispered to you, earning a smirk.
The banter started almost immediately. Klaus ordered a bottle of whiskey for the table, declaring it a celebration, though no one was quite sure what for.
“To family,” Klaus said as he poured the first round. “And to the fact that we’ve managed not to kill each other this week.”
Hayley raised her glass with a laugh. “I’ll drink to that.”
You clinked glasses, the warm burn of the whiskey spreading through your chest as you took a sip. The conversation flowed easily, a mix of teasing and storytelling. Klaus, ever the dramatist, recounted tales of his centuries-long escapades, earning amused snorts from Hayley and polite chuckles from Elijah.
“Do you remember Paris in the 1700s?” Elijah asked at one point, his tone dry. “When Klaus managed to insult an entire royal court in a single evening?”
“I hardly recall that,” Klaus said, though the smirk tugging at his lips suggested otherwise.
“You told the king his wig looked like a mop,” Elijah said.
Hayley choked on her drink, and you burst into laughter.
“I wasn’t wrong,” Klaus defended, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
The laughter only grew as the evening went on. Hayley challenged Klaus to darts, which turned into a fierce competition. Despite his usual confidence, Klaus couldn’t seem to land a bullseye, while Hayley hit three in a row with smug precision.
“Beginner’s luck,” Klaus muttered, though he was laughing as he handed over the darts in mock defeat.
“Maybe you’re just bad at it,” Hayley shot back, winking at you.
Elijah, ever the voice of reason, sipped his drink and leaned toward you. “Do you see what I endure?” he said, his tone dry but affectionate.
By the time the whiskey was replaced with champagne—Klaus’s idea, naturally—the mood had shifted from lively to downright mischievous. Hayley regaled the group with tales of her wolf pack, while Elijah shared snippets of Mikaelson family history that left everyone in stitches.
“Domesticated, Klaus,” Elijah said at one point, smirking over his glass. “Who would have thought?”
“Domesticated?” Klaus echoed, feigning offense. “I’ll have you know, I remain as untamed as ever.”
“Sure you do,” Hayley said, leaning back with a smirk. “Right after you read bedtime stories and tuck the little one in.”
The comment had Klaus narrowing his eyes, though there was no heat in his glare. You placed a calming hand on his arm, leaning in to whisper, “She’s not wrong, you know.”
“Traitor,” Klaus murmured, though the faint smile tugging at his lips betrayed his amusement.
As the night wore on, the four of you returned to the booth, the energy mellow but pleasant. Klaus’s arm draped over your shoulders, his thumb tracing absentminded circles against your collarbone. You leaned into him, the warmth of his body a comforting presence as the chatter continued.
“Did you have fun tonight?” you asked softly, glancing up at him.
Klaus tilted his head, his eyes gleaming with affection. “Immensely,” he said, his voice low. “Though I suspect it has more to do with your company than the location.”
From across the table, Elijah raised an eyebrow. “You’ve gone soft, Niklaus.”
Klaus shot him a look, though it lacked any real venom. “Perhaps, brother, you could learn to follow my example. It might do wonders for that stick lodged in your—”
“Elijah, don’t rise to it,” Hayley interrupted, laughing.
You laughed too, shaking your head at their antics. The night felt perfect in its simplicity—a rare moment of peace among the Mikaelson chaos.
Now, as the pub bustled with late-night energy, Klaus and Elijah decided to step outside, leaving you and Hayley at the booth.
Klaus paused before leaving, turning back to you. His hand found yours briefly, his thumb brushing your knuckles in a subtle gesture of affection. “Behave yourself, love,” he teased, his lips curving into that familiar smirk.
“Try to follow your own advice,” you shot back, earning a soft chuckle before he disappeared out the door with Elijah.
Hayley leaned back in her seat, swirling her drink lazily. “You’ve got him wrapped around your finger, you know,” she said with a smirk.
You laughed, shaking your head. “I don’t know about that. Klaus does what he wants.”
“Sure,” she replied, her tone laced with sarcasm. “Because it’s so common for him to act all… calm and domestic.”
You rolled your eyes, though you couldn’t deny that Klaus had been surprisingly mellow tonight. It was a rare treat to see him relaxed and genuinely enjoying himself without the weight of his usual schemes.
The two of you sat in companionable silence for a while, watching the ebb and flow of the pub. The lively crowd was a mix of locals and tourists, their laughter and conversation blending with the background music. Just as you were about to suggest ordering another drink, a rough jolt sent you lurching forward in your seat.
“Hey!” Hayley exclaimed, her sharp tone cutting through the noise.
You straightened, turning to see a man who had stumbled into you on his way past the booth. He was unsteady on his feet, the smell of alcohol rolling off him in waves. His disheveled appearance and glassy eyes suggested he’d had far too much to drink.
“Watch where you’re going,” you said, your voice firm but not unkind.
The man muttered something unintelligible, his hand waving dismissively as if your complaint didn’t matter. He turned to walk away, leaving you frowning at his lack of an apology. Hayley’s expression darkened, but before she could say anything, the door to the pub swung open.
Klaus strode back in, his sharp eyes immediately locking onto the scene. His posture tensed, his expression shifting from relaxed to dangerous in an instant. Elijah followed close behind, his brows furrowing as he assessed the situation.
“What’s going on?” Klaus’s voice was low, laced with a quiet menace that made the surrounding conversations fade into the background.
The man froze mid-step, glancing over his shoulder at Klaus. He seemed to recognize the weight of the hybrid’s presence, his body going rigid as Klaus approached.
“Nothing,” you said quickly, placing a hand on Klaus’s arm to calm him. “He just bumped into me, that’s all.”
“Bumped into you?” Klaus repeated, his tone incredulous as his eyes narrowed. His gaze shifted to the man, who now looked decidedly nervous under Klaus’s piercing stare. “Did he apologize?”
The man stammered, taking an unsteady step back. “It was an accident,” he mumbled, his words slurring slightly. “Didn’t mean anything by it.”
“That wasn’t my question,” Klaus said, his voice dropping to a lethal softness. He stepped closer, his presence commanding as the man shrank back further. “I asked if you apologized.”
The man blinked rapidly, his drunken bravado evaporating. “Uh… sorry,” he muttered, glancing between you and Klaus. “I’m sorry, alright?”
“That’ll do,” Elijah interjected smoothly, stepping in to place a hand on Klaus’s shoulder. “Let’s not cause a scene, brother.”
Klaus didn’t move at first, his jaw clenching as he stared down the man. Finally, with a sharp exhale, he relented, stepping back to your side. His hand immediately found yours, his fingers curling protectively around yours.
“Are you alright, love?” he asked, his tone softer now as his intense gaze swept over you.
“I’m fine,” you assured him, squeezing his hand gently. “It was nothing.”
“Nothing?” Klaus echoed, his eyes still stormy. “No one disrespects you, even by accident.”
Hayley smirked, leaning back in her seat. “Relax, Klaus. She’s tougher than she looks.”
“I’m well aware,” Klaus replied without missing a beat. His expression softened further as he turned back to you. “But that doesn’t mean I’ll tolerate carelessness at her expense.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his protectiveness, though you tried to hide it. “It’s over now,” you said softly. “Let’s not ruin the night.”
Klaus sighed, the tension in his posture finally easing as he pulled you closer. “Very well,” he said, pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead. “But if anyone else so much as looks at you the wrong way, they’ll have me to answer to.”
“You’re impossible,” Hayley muttered, though her amused grin betrayed her words.
“Impossible and proud of it,” Klaus replied, his smirk returning as he guided you back to the booth.
Elijah, ever the mediator, raised an eyebrow at Klaus. “Perhaps next time, you could temper your reactions. Not every situation requires a show of dominance.”
Klaus waved a dismissive hand, clearly uninterested in Elijah’s advice. “What’s the point of power, brother, if not to use it when necessary?”
As the group settled back into the easy rhythm of the evening, the tension melted away. Klaus kept a protective arm around you, his thumb tracing gentle circles on your shoulder.
“I meant what I said,” he murmured, his voice low enough for only you to hear. “No one touches what’s mine.”
You tilted your head to look up at him, your smile soft. “I know,” you whispered back. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The rest of the night passed in warmth and laughter, Klaus’s protective streak a reminder that, beneath his formidable exterior, his love for you was fierce and unyielding.
🩸 The Beast That Calls You Home 🩸
Genre: Dark, Possessive, Supernatural Bonding 🔥
Summary: Klaus doesn’t just claim you—he brands your very soul. Feel the magnetic pull of a supernatural tether you can’t escape... and maybe don't want to.
Snippet: "One day," he whispered, "you won't just feel the bond, love. You'll crave it. You'll beg for it."
The night air in Mystic Falls was thick with the scent of rain and something older, something darker—a primal force that seemed to awaken only for him. The storm clouds churned in the heavens, restless and heavy, promising a downpour that never quite came. You stood alone at the edge of the Lockwood property, arms wrapped tightly around yourself against the gathering chill. But it wasn't the coming storm that made your skin prickle—it was the presence lurking in the shadows.
It was him. Klaus.
You felt him before you heard him: a magnetic pull that coiled deep inside you, a thread tightening mercilessly around your very soul. Your breath hitched, heart stuttering as the air grew thicker, charged with unseen electricity. The tension was suffocating, a storm of its own brewing inside you. When he emerged from the trees, it was with the effortless grace of a predator who knew his prey—knew it so intimately, so thoroughly—there was no hope of escape.
"You're mine, love," Klaus murmured, his voice a low, dark velvet that slid over your skin and sank its claws into your mind. His smile was deceptively soft, but underneath it, you could hear it—the silent growl, the hunger barely leashed, the raw, territorial dominance.
You took a trembling step back, but the mark he left on you pulsed in traitorous response. It wasn't a scar, not something physical you could erase or hide. It was something deeper, something primal. When Klaus had touched you days ago, brushing his fingertips down your spine in what should have been a fleeting, forgettable moment, he'd done more than simply graze your skin.
He had branded you. Supernaturally.
The bond was invisible, intangible, yet it thrummed with a brutal, tangible force. His presence dragged at your soul, an invisible tether that bound you to him, pulling tighter and tighter no matter how fiercely you resisted. Every beat of your heart answered to the rhythm he set. Every breath you took tasted faintly of him. Every whispered thought seemed to echo with his voice, seeping deeper with each moment you stood there.
"You think you can outrun destiny?" Klaus asked, his voice rich with amusement and something darker, something lethal. He tilted his head slightly, studying you with those ancient, merciless eyes. Lightning split the sky behind him, illuminating his figure in stark, terrible beauty—the very picture of an ancient god descended to earth. "You just haven't admitted it yet."
Your throat worked, desperate to summon denial, to scream that he was wrong—but the words crumbled before they could form. Deep down, beneath the layers of fear and defiance, something stirred. Recognition. A dark, dangerous part of you that answered his call without hesitation, a part of you that had always belonged to him even before you knew his name.
Klaus reached out, slow and deliberate, brushing his fingers along the line of your jaw. The moment his skin met yours, the mark inside you thrummed—eager, needy, traitorous. Your body betrayed you further, swaying subtly toward him, aching for a touch you swore you didn't want. You hated the way your body leaned toward him without permission, the way your soul whispered his name even as your mind screamed to fight.
"I marked you," Klaus said, voice a low snarl against your ear. "You are tethered to me, bound by something older than magic, stronger than any vow."
The rain began to fall, slow and heavy, soaking you to the bone. The chill should have made you shiver, but it barely registered—the fire he stoked beneath your skin burned hotter, fiercer. Klaus moved closer, his chest brushing against yours, his scent—earth, spice, danger—overwhelming your senses. His hand slid from your jaw to your throat, not squeezing—never hurting—just resting there, a dark promise of the power he wielded over you.
"No one else will ever touch you," he murmured, his voice roughened by something primal. "No one else will ever dare."
The bond between you shuddered, tightened, a living thing that pulsed in time with your heartbeat. The world blurred around you; there was only Klaus, only the relentless, aching tether pulling you closer, closer, until the space between your bodies vanished entirely.
"One day," he whispered, his lips brushing against yours without claiming them, "you won't just feel the bond, love. You'll crave it. You'll beg for it."
The storm broke open fully above you, rain cascading in cold sheets. But neither of you moved. Klaus simply stood there, watching you with that insufferable certainty, while you trembled beneath the weight of what had been done to you—what had always been destined.
And though you wanted to scream, to run, to fight until your last breath—your soul had already made its choice. It had always been his. It always would be.
When Klaus ruins a good chat with a very sincere girl he's been obsessing over for some time now, he has some making up to do.
Warnings - slightly yandere!Klaus, if you squint, and a good ol' make-out session, which does lead tos omething more (no p in v!).

Long time no see, besties? I hope you didn't forget me!! I've been trying to get back into writing after a full month of practicals and exams, so this is indeed a word-vomit kind of fic (it is very fast paced!), hahah. I hope you'll be entertained regardless! <3
Klaus had had a long day. He felt like bashing his head against a wall or shoving his fist through someone's chest. But he did neither of those painful deeds and instead found himself headed to the Mystic Grill.
He decided to walk there at a rather slow pace, wanting to clear his head so that he'll be able to fully enjoy his drinks there.
The air was bitingly cold against wherever his skin was exposed, and it was so strong that it managed to sneak into and engulf him even inside his coat. But he didn't shiver, or even flinch – instead, he shut his eyes for a second or two, and tried to focus on what he could smell and feel.
Before he knew it, he could hear the low buzz of his destination – the frequent sounds of beer bottles clinking together, people talking each other's ears off after finally getting together after a while, and students trying to get a group project discussion done without having to repeat themselves five times because of the loud chatter.
He felt that he was smiling by the time he could smell the scent of ...well, alcohol and a variety of colognes. Some fried food and a lot of blood.
But when he walked through the door, and saw the true reason for his smile, he felt conscious enough to hide it or else seeming totally weird and out of it.
He bit his lip and walked over to the bar, mumbling his usual order to the tender before he sat on one of the stools. Slowly, he turned his neck to look behind him, and a gleaming smile found its way on his mouth when he realised that she had already been looking at him.
She'd been nodding to something her friend was saying, while looking at him. Klaus nodded lightly and slowly turned back around when she smiled back right away and turned away a little shyly.
Klaus' mind was usually always busy building strategies, making back up plans, being paranoid and trying to figure out who was betraying him. But for the past few weeks, she had taken up more than half of the space in his brain, and his heart had begun beating at a slightly faster rate – perhaps by a point five.
He had seen her hanging with Caroline and Bonnie, and quite often with Alaric Saltzman and Logan Fell. And each time that he'd approach any of her mates, she'd quickly back out and leave the space. Almost as if she didn't want to even be breathing the same air as him.
But all of the times that she was unaware of his looming presence, it was like she was the sweetest heart to be walking the earth.
So, perhaps she was afraid of him, Klaus had thought trying to come to a conclusion, remembering the sound of her escalated heart beats whenever he was around. But that wouldn't make sense as she had no reason to fear him, since as far as he knew, she didn't know anything about the inner-goings of her distant friend group.
Distant because he saw her with others more than he saw her with any of the Scooby-gang's members.
She'd be walking along with Caroline and Bonnie, and the moment she would see him around the corner, she would essentially scutter off. When he would interrupt her sessions with Alaric, she would scatter to gather her stuff and scurry off while making sure that she didn't brush against him as she passed him in the doorway.
And when he would crash her conversations with Logan at the bar, she would look quite pissed off, but still, she would be gone with the next gust of wind.
Sometimes Klaus’ wandering eyes would fixate on Y/n for a little too long and he would occasionally catch a boy gazing at her, or another one looking at her for a brief second before he would mutter something in his friend’s ear, something along the lines of, “she just needs to look at me once with a smile, and I’ll literally take her back to my house.”
He wasn’t sure then why his teeth would grit till he was pulled out of his rage by a hand on his shoulder, often of someone equally infuriating such as Damon or Alaric.
He would just be quite outraged that the one girl he had his eyes on, he had to share with a couple others. And it didn’t even make sense, because no one even knew that he was even aware of her presence, let alone the fact that he would often be searching for her in places he knew she must be present.
But maybe, it was her behaviour that had his interest piqued. He wanted to know many things about her, such as: why she avoided him, and why did he catch her hanging with the two older men so often. Maybe it was because he wanted her to be hanging out with him instead, maybe it was because he was curious and that was the most he had seen of her till date.
Since then, he had his eyes on her whenever she was around. And so far he had noticed a few other things such as, she only wore her prescribed glasses when she was alone, or attending a lecture, she had a sensitive skin that turned red if she rubbed it too harshly, and that she often read more than just one book at a time.
A couple days prior, three to be exact, he was disappointedly walking out of Alaric's class. He had been hoping to crash one of her sessions again. But she hadn't been there – Klaus had even made sure to check if it was the usual time that she was there. The colour pink had washed over his cheeks in embarrassment, and he'd turned into the hallway that led to the library, giving himself another chance and hoping he'd catch her there.
He opened the gate just slightly ajar, enough for him to peak his head through. And just as he had hoped, she was standing right there, looking like a deer caught in headlights with her big eyes in the dim lighting of the library.
Biting back a smile, he walked inside, closing the door behind him.
"Hi," he mumbled, walking forward with his hands in his coat's pockets.
She looked around her to ensure that he was asking her. Still, she pointed at herself and whispered, "me?"
Klaus chuckled, then nodded.
She waved back at him then, and, "hi," she smiled.
"Uh, I've seen you around a couple times actually, but never caught your name," he whispered, sticking his hand out.
"Y/n," she nodded with a small laugh before wrapping her hand around his' easily, and Klaus couldn't ignore just how soft and warm it was. Or maybe he'd felt that about her laughter, he wasn't sure.
"I'm Klaus, it's nice to finally meet you," he smiled. "It wouldn't have taken this long if you hadn't been avoiding me," he shrugged.
She looked at the ground, embarrassed. "I wasn't avoiding you," she mumbled, turning to put a book back on the shelf. "I'm sorry that that's what it looked like."
The smile was still playing around on her mouth, but this one was covered in hues of truth that she was holding back.
"Oh? My eyes must have been deceiving me every time you ran off when I came around," he pointed out, amused.
"Well, I don't know," she exclaimed, "you just make me nervous!"
Klaus looked at her incredulously. "You didn't even know my name until a few minutes ago, and you say that I made you nervous? That doesn't make any sense, now does it?"
"I know! But --" she hesitated, "I don't know," she deflated like a balloon.
Klaus sighed, shrugging. "I -- are you nervous right now?" He could hear very well that she was, but he still wanted to hear what she had to say.
"I mean, kind of?" She trailed off. "But not as much as you usually do!"
"Alright, baby steps, perhaps." He laughed, and then harder when she doubled over and put her hand on his arm for support.
"Wait, am I holding you back?" He quickly asked.
"I mean, yes you are, but it's fine," she shrugged. "I don't want to go to class anyways," she said, grinning.
"I didn't take you for a bad student," he feigned being shocked.
"I'm not! It's just, I've already covered what he's going to teach in class today," she smiled, embarrassed again.
"Is that why I see you around Alaric so often?" Klaus gasped. "Are you trying to leave you batchmates behind?"
Y/n laughed as if he was talking crap after taking five shots.
"Well, I'd rather put it as, I want to learn everything in my lifetime, and right now, it means I know what's written in most textbooks, more well than my peers do," she shrugged.
Klaus nodded, as if saying, 'sure, why not!'. "And what about Logan?"
"You have quite a wandering eye, don't you?" She teased him first, but when Klaus gave her a look, she sighed.
"Well, I've been wanting to know more about Journalism, especially the things that people don't really tell you at face value, you know? I'm just taking advantage of my situation and running after Logan after any new thing I learn."
Klaus could already tell that this was a busy girl, who liked to make each second of her day count. And suddenly, he felt bad for chatting to her without any preset intentions.
And then, Y/n checked her wristwatch.
"I ...have to go," she said, as if it was the most embarrassing thing she'd ever had to say in her entire life.
"Oh, okay, yeah, of course!" Klaus face palmed himself in his mind for stumbling over his words so hard.
She lingered, and then passed him a quick smile. And she'd just reached the door's handle when he cleared his throat instantly.
"Y/n!" She turned, and saw that one of his hands was in the air, almost as if reaching out to her.
"I was thinking maybe we could get some coffee? Or whatever you like to drink, and you know... I'd like to get to know you," he finished off quite shyly, and pinched himself for it from inside his coat's pocket.
"I'd love to," she replied loudly. She knew that there was no one other than them in the room right now. "Find me when you get the chance," she said before leaving.
And it had been a full week since their first and last true encounter – and Klaus was just now seeing her again.
He felt bad, realising that she might have felt as if he'd somehow played her. But he'd had to go back to New Orleans to solve a matter suddenly, and the moment he'd stepped foot back in Mystic Falls, he'd walked straight to the Grill.
Even when he was away, he'd felt the urge to look at her, at the very least. And that had been when he'd truly known that he needed to just make her his’.
"Don’t you think our drinks might have gone bad by now?" Klaus heard her say before he saw her, sliding onto the seat right beside him.
"Oh, I had to leave town for a little bit," Klaus immediately answered, brushing his nose. "Spontaneously too," he added, then gulped dryly.
She only nodded, before taking a sip of her coffee. The maroon colour on her lips was faint, like she had rubbed it to look more like a gradient, and he suddenly felt thirsty.
"Seems like you missed me," he shrugged with a smirk, looking at her from the corner of his eye as he took a gulp of his own drink.
She gasped, looking at him accusingly.
"No, I didn't!" She exclaimed, eyes wide.
"And who are you lying to, yourself or me?" Klaus raised a brow, placing his elbow on the bar and leaning his temple on his palm, looking at her with his full attention.
She had left the top two buttons of the cropped shirt open, and only because of the pendant that was leading his gaze further down, Klaus noticed the lace of her black bra peeking through. He was relieved to see that she didn’t notice, busy tucking her hair behind her ear.
"I- I'm not lying," she answered, caught a little off-guard. “I don’t care enough to lie,” she said, but without looking him in the eyes.
"Whatever you say," Klaus feigned nonchalance, and checked his wrist watch, hoping she'd say something that he could then tease her about.
But instead, he saw her sigh in his periphery.
"Okay," she mumbled, placing her empty glass on the bar and slid off the seat. Fixing the hem of her shirt, she walked back to her table, chewing the inside of her cheek.
Oh god, Klaus shouldn't have been so mean. He had forgotten just how gentle and sensitive her nature was. He face-palmed internally, mad that he had ruined such a good meeting.
Looking behind him with a deep frown, he was panicking how he could save the situation when he saw her hug all of her friends to her side, while fixing her tote on her other shoulder.
Her hair was tied in a neat bun, but wisps had still managed to escape. Gold hoops dangled from her ears, and his eyes travelled down the expanse of her neck.
Klaus blinked, and focused.
"I mean I do have to submit an essay tonight, and get some readings done before midnight," she spoke guiltily, curling in on herself under the upset gaze of the friends.
"I'm sorry, I'll make up soon," she pouted, letting a girl press a kiss on her cheek before she was rushing out of the bar, leaving behind a chatter and before Klaus could bury his face deep in his palms, the girls' eyes flashed to him for a brief second.
To be real, they weren't even close. Barely acquaintances, but for some reason, Klaus felt as though he was on the very edge of losing something ...exceptional. So he needed to do something, and do it quickly.
He had to reach her before she slammed the door on him. Finishing the last bit of his drink, he rushed back home, to ensure nothing would come up to interrupt him later in the night.
Klaus was well aware that Y/n lived with her parents, who truly loved her dearly. She was the only one so far who he had seen with a usual pair of parents, let alone with a close relationship with them as well. And he also knew that they would never expect their golden daughter to even be holding hands with a boy let alone being alone with a man in her room.
So he knew that he could shoot his shot tonight, and the both of them would come out the other side, uncaught.
When the crickets had begun chirping, and the moon was the only source of light, Klaus made his way to her house. From outside he saw that her room was still lit up, albeit a little dimly.
He climbed right up to her window, and was amazed to find her window open ajar, and the curtains that were usually covering it, were drawn just a little to the side – enough for him to peek inside. As the curtains bellowed because of the strong wind, Klaus felt as though he heard cello begin playing inside of his heart the moment he caught a glimpse of her.
But then he waited, and realised that the music was coming from her laptop instead. Leaning in a little bit more, he saw that she was sitting on the floor, swamped amongst papers with the end of a pen caught between her teeth.
As she was studying from a paper in front of her, and then shifting her attention back on her laptop to type something, Klaus felt the urge to free her bottom lip from where it was held by her canines.
Unable to control himself any longer, but still having the mind to not startle her, Klaus knocked on the window.
She looked up, still a little distracted because of her papers, but when she saw him sitting on her window sill, her eyes blew wide.
Her mouth dropped open but before she could’ve yelped, Klaus had his hand cupped in front of her mouth. “It’s me!” He whispered, his heart thudding as her round eyes stared back into his’.
Her breathing calmed, and she let her figure slump back down.
“Dear god, you scared the shit out of me,” she shook her head, eyes closed and her hand placed over her heart.
“Don’t use bad words,” he teased, finally sitting down on the floor with her.
He rested his back against the foot of her bed, and spread his legs in front of him, locking them at the ankles.
“Wh- what the hell are you even doing here? Isn’t this trespassing?” She asked, and then squinted her eyes. “Should I scream right now?”
Laughter escaped him before he could control it. “Why are you so sweet, my love?” He asked her, simply smiling now.
She looked a little offended.
“You can call it a trespass or a break in, if you want to. I think I’d call this apologising,” he shrugged.
A little puzzled, Y/n raised an eyebrow. “Apologising? …For?”
“For the way I spoke to you earlier,” he said, rolling his lips in. He needed to tread carefully here.
Realisation seemed to dawn upon her then, and she skipped the ad that had interrupted the cello music to buy herself some time. “Yeah about that, um,” she swallowed, embarrassment creeping in. “You don’t need to apologise for that, um, I think I overreacted a little.”
This answer gave him the confidence that it would be way easier to make her his’, than he had originally thought.
“No, I should’ve talked to you sweetly, that is what you deserve,” he started. “I was a twit for behaving like that, and I’m very sorry.”
At this point, her ears were burning red and she was chewing on the inside of her cheek again. “It’s okay, Klaus. I forgive you, really,” she smiled.
Silence overtook them for a while, and Klaus could sense her attention slipping back onto her papers. So he leaned in, and moved all of the papers aside.
Y/n gasped, beginning to protest when Klaus shushed her with his finger on her lips.
“I’d put them in an order,” she pouted, a small frown in between her brows. God she got upset and embarrassed way too easily, and each time Klaus felt like his heart was alive again.
Klaus trailed his finger down her chin, and then brought it back into his lap. “I don’t think I can hide this any longer, I uh,” he licked his lips, and took a small breath. “I really like you, Y/n.”
Her eyes widened, and gradually, a smile pulled the corners of her mouth upwards. “You do?” She asked while grinning, her excitement seeping into Klaus.
He began smiling too. “Yeah,” he nodded. “I really fucking do.”
Y/n buried her face into her hands. “Oh god, I cannot believe this.”
Klaus was grinning now, and he shifted close enough to take hold of her wrists to pull them away. “Look at me, love,” he said softly.
And Y/n did, her eyes shining like he had put stars in them and her face was so red he could feel warmth just by hovering his hands over her cheeks.
“Do you feel the same?” He asked, looking into her eyes, and when she nodded furiously, Klaus bit his lip.
“I really really like you as well, Klaus,” she giggled, and Klaus went back to lean against the bed.
He watched her for a few seconds, and she looked back into his eyes, her smile stretched from ear to ear.
“Come closer now, would you?” He said with a teasing lilt in his voice, and he grabbed her hand when she got up on her knees to move towards him.
And when she was sitting beside him, Klaus brushed the back of his hand against her cheek before cupping it in one hand. “Can I kiss you?” He asked, his voice raspier and quieter now that she was so close he could smell the cologne she had put on earlier in the evening.
Y/n nodded, eyes fluttering. “Please,” she told him softly, her breath just a little exhilarated
And overwhelmed by her answer, Klaus drew her in and smashed his mouth onto her. His entire body felt like it was on fire, and a rasp escaped his throat when Y/n placed a hand on his chest.
“God, you taste so good,” he muttered against her mouth to let her take a couple of breaths before he was kissing her again, his fingers entangled in her hair with his palm placed on the edge of her jaw.
Her hand travelled upwards, leaving goosebumps behind and travelled behind his neck to curl her fingers around the baby hairs on the nape of his neck.
He bit down on her bottom lip before pushing his tongue into her mouth, and a whimper escaped her mouth. She let him take control, and Klaus began exploring her mouth.
She backed away to catch her breath, but Klaus was quick to latch onto her neck. He left a trail of saliva along her jaw before marking spots on the span of her neck. She moaned, her breaths heavy and laced with want as Klaus sucked right above her collarbone.
“Straddle me, sweetheart,” Klaus grunted against her skin, a particular type of high coursing through his body as he pressed his nose further into her skin.
She did just as he said and the moment he felt her heat radiate onto his boner, he knew he was gone for the night.
“Klaus?” She called his name gently, and he looked up into her eyes right away.
“I- I’m a virgin,” she told him, her breath shaky.
“It’s okay sweetheart, we can go further another day, yes? Whenever you want to?” He told her, and she nodded so sweetly Klaus had to take a deep breath to ground himself.
“But can I just kiss you a little longer, my love?” He asked, eyes then trailing over the hickeys he had given her. He would really need to jerk himself off the moment he reached his home.
“Uh huh,” she mumbled, her voice cracking. “Please.”
“God, you love to beg, don’t you?” He chuckled, tracing her jaw. “I’ll give you what you want, sweet girl. Whatever you want,” he whispered, and this time Y/n was the one to start the kiss.
Their heads bobbed as they pressed themselves further into each other and it was only in a few seconds that Klaus felt movement against his crotch.
He stopped to look down, and saw Y/n’s hips falter to a stop. “Did I do something wrong?” She asked him worriedly.
“Were you grinding on me, sweetheart?”
“Y-yeah, I think so,” she muttered, hands beginning to fiddle.
“You’ll be the death of me,” Klaus grunted before he drew her into a kiss again. And this time, one his hands remained tangled in her hair while the other one began to travel down her waist and on her hips.
Then he began to grind her onto him, and pushed himself up towards her clothed cunt. Slowly, he created a pace and it wasn’t long before she was increasing the pace herself.
Small whimpers and moans began to escape her as Klaus continued kissing her. He himself felt getting closer and he had just been thinking of holding himself back when he heard her say his name.
“Please, Klaus,” she whimpered again, and Klaus moved to press kisses and bites across her chest instead.
“Yes, my love?” He asked her, still drawing her stuttering hips into a pace.
“I think, I think I’m going to come,” she mumbled, and Klaus knew there was no stopping himself now.
“Yeah, sweet girl? Come for me then, make me happy,” he rasped before nipping above her other collarbone.
And right then, Y/n bit down on her bottom lip as her body began to shake. Stuttering against Klaus’ unforgiving pace, she fell into shambles on top of him. A lone tear slid out of one of her eyes, and Klaus eyes were glinting at this sight of her.
He freed her bottom lip, and kissed her harshly one last time before he felt the knot in his belly break loose. God, he had made a mess of himself in front of this angel girl, and still he kept moving her hips until the both of them had ridden their highs.
She pressed her face in his neck then, and wrapped her arms around his torso, still sitting on top of him.
“God, I really fucking like you,” she said meekly, clutching him a little tighter.
“I know my love,” Klaus smiled, brushing his hands through her hair, and inhaling the faint smell of vanilla. “I really like you as well, my love,” he said in a deep voice, and pressed a small kiss on her ear.
