As it’s still the ‘Easter Holidays’, we haven’t been working too hard this week. But, today, the Beans decided to do a quick brush up on their ‘tricky words’ (so called because they cannot be decoded using phonics alone). Holly is learning her Phase 2 tricky words and Charlie was recapping Phase 3. I printed these flash cards off the @twinklresources website and set up a really simple tuff tray for them with the words around the sides and magnetic letters in the middle. They had to sort through the letters to spell out each word. Once they’d finished, they read the words back to me and, since we were outside, they used their chalk board to practice writing them out too. We used a similar set-up to this to practice our phonics a couple of weeks ago. They seemed to really enjoy the format and took a lot from the activity, so, I thought I’d keep trying it again (with different words and sounds) whilst it’s proving to be effective for us! @twinklparents @twinklirelandearlyyears #threebeansplaytime #3beansplaytime #twinklresources #twinklparents #trickywords #tufftray #tufftrayideas #learningathome #athomelearning #funlearning #funlearningathome https://www.instagram.com/p/B_BDrwoH_uj/?igshid=1devfd8mjt9el
