SS&SP Events: The official wedding of Miss Elizabeth Walker of Philadelphia and Major Benjamin Tallmadge, July 25, 1778
To His Excellency General George Washington,
To The Honorable Judge Edward Shippen,
To Congresman Selah Strong, New York Delegate,
Dr. Joseph Walker of Philadelphia is honored to personally invite you to the wedding of his beloved daughter, Elizabeth, and her betrothed, Major Benjamin Tallmadge of the 2nd Dragoons, on July 25, in the year of our lord, 1778, in Philadelphia. Major Tallmadge’s father, Reverend Doctor Nathaniel Tallmadge, will officiate. The ceremony will be held in Christ Church with afternoon and evening receptions at Walker Manor following the nuptials. Food and drink will be served aplenty, with music and dancing for all patriots and guests who find themselves in attendance. The bride and her bridegroom humbly ask the guests that if a gift cannot be given to them directly, the guests shall find a way to donate funding and supplies to their local militias and regiments.
The Walkers and Tallmadges dearly hope to see you in attendance.
God bless America and God bless General Washington!

Oh my god I loved your destination wedding karedevil fic so freaking much!! If only you wrote more au 😭. Also everything else you write is freaking amazing too ❤️
Wow, thank you! Honestly, my closer-to-canon fics (and I say this because I still deviate a lot) seem to be much more popular, but I love writing AU’s.
And I have a bunch in my docs folder, but it’s really hard to keep up. Once I finish the six (dear god) ongoing stories I have on ao3 (all of which are basically aus), I’ll try to post one of the many unfinished ones I want to work on. Or someone could just do me a favor and finish them for me! Sorry, I had to try.
I do have an idea for a sequel to Two Weddings which is set in New York, but it is basically the farthest one from done. Comments like this definitely make me want to write more, so I appreciate it. I also love getting prompts for new ideas so I can take a break from the wips that are driving me crazy! It’s completely healthy, I promise 😂
You are so sweet for saying such lovely things!
Two Weddings
Dear Diary
Last Saturday I went to two weddings and wore my Josephine for the occasion.
Corset Adventures of the day!
Discovered that I could stash my ipod down the front of my corset. Convenient!
Went to mass for the first couple. So happy for them!
Went home for a short while before the next wedding’s reception. I even got to slip in a nap.... I’ve found that I like to nap in my corset. It allows my body to adjust better.
I also hears, in my half-asleep, half-awake haze, my youngest sister refer to me as “sleeping beauty.” And I don’t even think she was being sarcastic.
Found two people who knew what a corset was. And both guys! The first guy was checking my mother and I out at the store. We stopped before the second wedding’s reception to pick up father’s day things. He said he like’s my half-Victorian dress and said, surprisingly, that I wasn’t the first corset he had see that day. I asked how he knew what a corset was and he said his mom used to watch Project Runway. That’s how how knew....The second guy was at the second wedding’s reception and he just knew. I didn’t ask how.
Went to the second wedding’s reception. What a lovely couple.
I was able to eat the perfect amount of food for the whole day! I’m so used to eating my normal [large] proportions, but I got it right this time! A light snack at the first wedding, a moderate supper at the second wedding, and as many drinks as I wished.
I was asked twice if I could breath in that thing. So I got to explain, once again, that our mid-section is mostly squishy organs and and flexible muscle.
I danced at both parties. Who says you can’t move in a corset!
My brother was at the second wedding, and he spilled some beer on my corset >.<. It wasn’t much thought.
At the last part of the night, I was at the first wedding’s reception. Enjoyed myself with dances and drinks, and my mom, aunt and their friends had fun pointing out every single man in the joint. “Hey, go dance with that one.... and that one... or that one.” XS
Two Weddings? I’m prepared. The dress looks black, but really it has a shimmery blue woven in.
