Twst things Florid Edition
I’m every much against the idea of “Florid is abuser x victim”. Because it’s a mischaracterization towards both the characters, thankfully it’s not something I have seen a lot of 😭
Floyd cares about Riddle in his own weird way I could point to so many examples.
Book 4 when he invites Riddle to say in Octavinelle, instead of going home because he noticed Riddle being hesitant(something I don’t see him doing for anyone else, that aren’t Jade or Azul).
Floyd noticing how little Riddle ate during the Halloween event like the op said.
Him offering to protect Riddle(in a joking way to ragebait him) in beanfest.
During Camp Vargas training after Floyd ragebaits Riddle he says(and this is a direct quote) “Aha, your face is red. I’m glad you kept yourself warm.”
The direct quote that was in the anthology “Of course Goldfishie is a very hard worker~ So admirable~ that’s what I’m thinkin’ now. Suuper amazin and other things like that…”
In book 7 when the reason Floyd started to wake up is because of what happened in their orientation when Riddle sent him flying.
(Take the next couple points with a grain of salt because I’m not 100% sure) in the Phantom bride event in jp Floyd says "Goldfishie is perfect the way he is."

In Endless Halloween Riddle runs into the mirror after declaring he has to save his students, and Floyd is surprised at the sudden action from Riddle, saying he wanted to go through too and runs after him
Unironically Floyd would be really good for Riddle 😭 Floyd has never tiptoed around Riddles anger like the others have.
Riddle as well, if he truly wanted Floyd gone he could have so easily especially considering how much stronger he is. When it comes to magic at least. Riddle was concerned for Floyd in Floyds SR lab wear, when Floyd said he wasn’t in the mood to annoy him. Regardless of how much Riddle says he doesn’t like Floyd, he still acknowledges him. In the Stitch Riddle scolds Floyd for jumping into the ocean without stretching. Riddle shows his care and worry towards Floyd.
Now there isn’t a lot of canon backing to what I’m about to say, but I think it’s still important to mention. Floyd has NEVER shied away from Riddles anger, never tip toeing around Riddle to avoid his anger like alot of the other characters have, Floyd has always treated Riddle the same(Pre and post character development). So imagine how that would feel for Riddle, having someone around that isnt afraid of setting him off, that has always treated him the same, someone who loves both sides of him.
TLDR the ship isn’t Victim x Bully
