Muncho (Vancouver, British Columbia) is the work of Andrew Mazerolle (Monomyth, Ira Hardly) who has been making music since 2005.

I was immediately reminded of the work of U.S. Highball or Tony Molina. This is released on cassette via Lost Sound Tapes (Vancouver) and vinyl through Having Fun (Toronto). The Lost Sound Bandcamp page gives a RIYL of: Guided By Voices, R Stevie Moore, Cleaners from Venus, Television Personalities.

The Having Fun Bandcamp page calls the release a "restless one – veering periodically from the jangle at its core to one-off experiments in Melvins-style doom, twangy psych-country and beyond."

U.S. Highball (Glasgow, Scotland) has an earlier post (late 2018). This release “Great Record” was released in 2019 on Lame-O Records based in Philadelphia, PA.

This record has the hooks and the harmonies that remind of an unsung band from long ago, This Is Ivy League. The in the harmonies that are reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel and the pop chops of The Bats or BMX Bandits and you’ve got a decent approximation of U.S. Highball.

Lame-O also still has copies of The Pooches (a U.S. Highball alter ego) available.

After a couple of releases for Philadelphia label Lame-O, Glasgow band U.S. Highball is releasing "A Parkhead Cross of the Mind". We've previously posted about the band twice (use the search function and type "highball"). Surprise! I've got nothing really new to say. This is Ivy League, The Bats, Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, The Kings of Convenience or theCatherines all still come to mind.
