Cotard's Corpse,

In the past, you may have seen me ask some of the other individuals on this blog as to what they look like, including their physical appearance and attire, as well as their accessories. It has been interesting thus far to see how people like to express themselves, what they use to identify themselves or the groups they are a part of, and how they are unique to one another even if they have similar origins. I would like to ask you these questions too, but please do not feel pressured to answer them!

The canonical Hajime Hinata and Izuru Kamakura have had different appearances throughout their various depictions. They include (but may not be limited to):

Hello. It has been a while.

As you have heard from Hinata previously, our manner of dress has not changed much. I do not bother to dress particularly differently from Hinata. I do not front often, so I do not see much of a point.

He keeps our hair short. I do not approve of this. However, Hinata is predictably protective of the body after the years he was dormant during the Tragedy. How boring.

People have taken to calling me Sol. However, a corpse is an apt description given the circumstances. I am merely the husk that was cultivated once Hinata was extracted. I do not feel strongly one way or the other.

i made a post about this once but i wanna talk about it again cause the idea sounds cool to me.

First, we have to look at this-- well actually let me explain what im even talking about first lol.

you know how ultimate talents are like, just things people are really good at? im talking about if we view ultimate talent like a ability or a power. Thats what the post is about.

i wanted to talk about the lucky student talent.

lucky student = ultimate advantage in my eyes cause the favorable out come always comes their way in a different tone

Thats what i said in the other post but i wanna like, explain it more.

Nagito = Ultimate Advantage

His luck bends the world toward a desired outcome, the path is always absurd, destructive, or roundabout.

Nagito can control his 'talent' but he can't control the fact that it's (mostly) always going to cause destruction in some manner. Where Makoto's is based on him surviving and he can't control it he honestly doesn't even really believe he has a ultimate power at all.

Makoto = Ultimate Survivor

His luck doesn’t really deliver what he wants as it quietly shields him from disaster.

It works even when he’s totally unaware of danger (and he usually is) so he never has to actively manipulate it. (and he doesn't really know how) If he does realize he’s in danger, his luck still kicks in, but he’s just left amazed it happened rather than feeling like he caused it.

thats not part of it that's just his personality.

It’s more passive, reactive, and mysterious, like the universe keeps pushing him out of harm’s way without him asking or it informing him it just happens.

Nagito knows how to set it in motion, he has full trust that the chain reaction will work in his favor. (maybe his confidence has something to do with how destructive the outcome will be?)

something could break, get damaged, or cause chaos, but ultimately he still gets what he wants. (is it really what he wants if it's broken tho?)

The control he has over this talent makes it almost like a deliberate, strategic quirk/ability/power like i said so lets pretend in this world ultimate talents are actually abilities and thats what makes them special.

now lets talk about Makoto's

Makoto's is based on him surviving and he can't control it he honestly doesn't even really believe he has a ultimate power at all.

Makotos just keeps him from dying or getting hurt

the knife situation i explained - a knife could somehow fall and he would probably see something shiny to grab his attention and bend over and the knife miss him. It's double edged cause sometimes he knows hes in danger and sometimes he doesn't and the talent will work regardless.

if the knife fell whether he never knew he was in danger or not his "luck" will just mysteriously save his life and he'll just sit there like "WHOA, i almost died" without him having to do something/anything about it, he just needs to move and it happens, his talent will decide if he's going to be harmed like a roulette wheel but it will never allow him to be killed.

theres hurt a little bit and actually harmed but these go hand in hand with If he's harmed it will not be lethal, if he isn't harmed he'll probably come out of it frightened and it looks like he should have died from whatever happened (it was extremely violent)

the price is his fear? like Nagito's price is his confidence?? or maybe the price is how much he believes? idk

it’s a advantage thats why i call him Ultimate Survivor

both of theirs is like something they can almost control like a power of some sort, but Nagito knows/understands how to control his where Makoto is untrained if that makes sense

So Nagito is ultimate Advantage and Makoto is ultimate survivor same quirk but it controls different

i wrote another graph cause i like making graphs

Maybe Nagito's power source is actually how great his want value is for something? (how strongly he desires a specific outcome) like If he really wanted something it should work but the destruction it causes will be bad but if he just wants it like, you could take it or leave it the destruction wont be as bad??

If his desire is strong, the luck will twist the world hard to give it to him but because reality has to bend further, the chain reaction is longer, messier, and more destructive??

Like, If his desire is mild, reality doesn’t have to shift as much, so the path is shorter, and there’s less collateral damage maybe even none.

This kinda makes sense.

And Makoto's is like a passive survival skill, his ability is always running in the background, steering him out of danger he cannot turn it off even when hes sleeping it just runs. His mindset is “I just got lucky” rather than “I made this happen.”

it's Threat magnitude how it works, the severity of danger to his life.

His talent is fueled by how lethal a situation is. the closer he is to certain death, the more drastically reality bends to try and save his life without collateral damage to him. His body usually doesn't know the threat is coming the ability reacts to danger whether he’s aware of it or not. and hes almost never aware of it.

His response, whatever distraction he moves at is always the right time even if it's a mistake or a slip up or he trips, it will save him he doesn't really have to make an effort. The talent's intervention only aims to prevent death it doesn’t care if he’s injured, embarrassed, or traumatized in the process. he just will never be injured enough to die or die

LIke, he can break his leg but that's not going to kill him, he can get his leg wounded where he cant walk with it but thats not going to kill him if his whole entire life is saved and he can walk away from the event with just the broken leg or hurt leg. The talent did it's job.

Hey! I'm a bit older than the other kids, from Mae's universe, so I don't exactly dress the same as I used to. I work with the Future Foundation these days, so a lot of the time I dress according to their uniform. I'm still pretty partial to buttonups and the like, overall. As for physical appearance, well...

Since Izuru and I share a body, we disagree a bit on certain things. In particular, our hair. I prefer to keep it short, personally, and... well, Izuru and I have been struggling to find a common ground, really. Other than that, I have green eyes.

Izuru isn't around when I'm in front. We don't have much in terms of internal communication, and like the Nilla Wafer System, we have aphantasia. If anything, I feel like I cease to exist when I'm not in front, and I imagine it's the same for him. Because of that, he'll have to get around to answering your question for him on a day that he's in front. I know we look the same with just the one body, but I think he should get to talk about it for himself, too.

Ah, I realised that I had forgotten to ask an important question!

While the Kaitos of the group work their way through their appearance questions, and before I move on to asking those same questions to those with origins stemming from the second game: when is everyone's birthday?

You may remember in the past that I asked this to the Kokichi crew. They say that all of their birthdays are the same, although Kichi saw a chance to confuse me, and we ended up with two dates. It didn't matter because I noted down both! I use the dates to show people their Hanakomon (which, in short, is your birth flower by day, not by month), because one, I love flowers, and two, it's interesting to note their symbolism and see if it does or doesn't relate to oneself.

Going off the dates of each character from the game which many muses here are based on, I would have:

Hajime, from the Cotard System: 1st Janurary (the canon birthday of Hajjme Hinata).

Hajime, from the Nilla Wafer System: 1st Janurary (the canon birthday of Hajjme Hinata).

Lyre: 26th March (the canon birthday of Kaede Akamtsu).

Altair: 14th April canon birthday of Kaito Momota).

Lumin: 14th April (the canon birthday of Kaito Momota).

Plum: 14th April (the canon birthday of Kaito Momota).

Clover: 28th April (the canon birthday of Nagito Komaeda).

Eda: 28th April (the canon birthday of Nagito Komaeda).

Mae: 28th April (the canon birthday of Nagito Komaeda).

Fuyuhiko: 16th August (the canon birthday of Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu).

Umami: 3rd October (the canon birthday of Rantaro Amami).

All of those are correct!

Nilla (Izuru of the Nilla Wafer System) self-identifies his birthday as June 21st, allegedly the day he awoke.

Izuru of the Cotard System (he calls himself Cotard's Corpse, but Cotard himself and Hito both agree it's a bit dehumanizing to keep calling him that so the next time he's around we're going to see about finding an alternative) self-identifies his birthday as March 22nd, the day he and Hito escaped the lab facilities under Hope's Peak Academy.
