@taleswritten sent: “we’re not alone.” — From Nathan for Sully!
He’d barely managed to dodge the bullet whizzing by his head as he narrowly ducked behind cover— but apparently his luck hadn’t ran out yet. Funny, considering he’d been doing this gig for years. He was getting too old for this shit. Anyone else his age would be perfectly happy living the dream life, sipping on margaritas on a white sandy beach somewhere. Not him.
Victor could claim it was the thrill of the job keeping him in it.. but that was bullshit. He didn’t need the money— he was already a wealthy man. And as far as thrills went? He got plenty chasing the numerous women fighting for his attention. So then why was he here? There was only one answer to that question. And that was the man beside him. His son, not by blood, but his family nonetheless.
“Yeah, kid. No shit.” He murmured, popping a few more rounds into his handgun.
“Y’know I may be gettin’ old, but there’s nothing wrong with my eyesight.” He’d seen the dozen of armed lunatics heading right for them. Probably after the same thing they were. And upon chancing another peek out from cover? Another bullet pierced the rock beside his ear, sending him back into hiding. “Or hearing.” He was quick to add.
“What’d I tell ya earlier? This was a bad idea.” A pause, and then a glance over his shoulder at the younger man. “But when do you ever listen to me?” A smirk appeared beneath his moustache. Nate reminded him a lot of himself when he was younger. Guess he only had himself to blame.
