Being Gales Child left by Mystra Includes...
If the Netherese Orb in his chest wasn't enough dropping a Demigod Baby at his camp with no warning was probably a breaking point for Gale.
He adores you with his entire mind, body, and soul. If it was you or reality itself he would actually destroy the world if it meant you remained safe and unknowing in his tower. That being said, having his current condition with needing to magically absorb items and taking care of a newborn while trying to get the Ithilid out of his head is incredibly complicated. Thankfully, he isn't alone. It takes a village and his party members stepped up to be that village when you appeared.
A demigod baby is different than a normal child. There isn't a lot of information on cases like this, so while Gale researches to try and prepare, he knows he will likley have to come to his own conclusions. You will grow faster than a human and live much longer than one something he dreads as he fears you will be lonely. You will also be stronger, and your magic... the Weave itself is apart of your blood. While Wizard training will be apart of your upbringing Gale is unsure if you are a Soreceress or Warlock due to your divine heritage. All he knows for sure is you will not grow like a normal human, and you have potent magic that may be difficult to control.
You are a fast learner and even as a baby you quickly absorb knowledge. You are aware of the world around you and are very curious. Always watching, always learning. The companions notice quickly how your wide eyes are always looking, how you're always listening. You need to be stimulated constantly either with them talking to you or doing something with you or you cry and fuss bored out of your mind.
Astarion is surprisingly really good with babies and children. Something about their innocence allows him to see the world in a new light, allows him to heal apart of himself he's long thought broken. He's very protective of the fleshy thing that's joined their camp and when Gale is busy the Wizard trusts Astarion to take care of you.
The first sign he cared for you before anything else was the quality of your clothes suddenly improving. Gale put you in what was comfortable to you, sometimes what was cute if he felt indulgent or Tara begged. Astarion thought that was blasphemous considering your half god parentage. The vampire while not fond of dieties, was insistent in making everything you owned a master piece fit for a Jr. God. And he proved this by throwing anything away that was to drab in his taste. The spawn adores dressing you in soft and warm fabrics hand embroided and stitched by him. He refuses for the Wizard to let you be dressed in rags. You're a God, for goodness sake. You always look ready for a fashion show with Astarion around.
You like to watch him sew. As you sit in his tent on the floor playing with fabrics he gossips with you. As you sit and babble, he babbles back. He asks for your advice while embroidering things and attempts to include you even if you don't fully understand. He constantly talks about fashion and shows you different fabrics and threads letting you see different stitching styles. He adores sassing with you, and when hes annoyed with a companion he holds you in a sassy manner and has you babble or giggle to make it seem like you agree with what hes saying. Very snooty and silly.
The spawn also makes you several stuffed animals, soft blankets, and pillows. He spends hours painstakingly embroidering things for you and every time you gurgle in happiness or clap or laugh he secretly smiles in his wine cup. It really does make him soft seeing you happy and cared for, playing with his toys and wrapped warmly in blankets and clothing he made you. It heals apart of him he didn't realize he could fix.
He pretended to hate you at first. He really tried, but everyone sees the way the spawn fusses when you so much as sniffle like you're upset. His touch becomes gentle, and his voice soft as he soothes you back to sleep after a nightmare. He hissed at Gale once while he was holding you not wanting to let go. Apprentally spawn have VERY strong instincts about protecting babies and children that Astarion now has to deal with. Poor Gale was worried he wouldn't get his child back from the moody vampire.
Gale is a very competent Father. He has always wanted a family being a romantic and knew whoever his partner was he wanted to help them raise the child. While books do not prepare you for raising a child especially a child like his, his vast knowledge of child care and spells focused on aiding children does help with raising you. Tara is also a good help. His familar adores you and is always focused on your happiness and health.
He reads to you constantly and never baby talks to you. Rather he treats you like an intellectual equal. When they begin talking, everyone's sure they'll be the smartest and most well-read baby in all of FaeRune. Especially with the diverse literature options everyone in camp has for them.
Halsin is going to kidnap the child when Gale isn't looking. Bless him, he has good intentions but Gale is scared Halsin will actually take his baby to live in the Grove and become a druid far from any city. The ArchDruid isn't fond of WaterDeep or Baldurs Gate and is very intent on making sure Gales child is not a shut in and rather an extroverted naturalist. The baby already has a strong magical affinity so having them train as a druid is the next step surely.
The druid likes curling around the baby in bear form to keep them warm and safe. When the baby naps, Halsin also naps keeping the baby comfortable in blankets and his thick furr.
Halsin has a small herb garden he keeps in camp. When he watches you, he lets you help garden no matter your age. If you trample any of his plants he considers it apart of learning and will simply fix it when you are with Gale again. Babies explore by placing things in their mouth, which is why their likley to eat dirt or sand or rocks. Halsin lets you play in mud despite Astarions protests, but the driud is very careful not to let you eat things you shouldn't. He explains the plants to you sitting your body in his lap as he lets you touch leaves and feel flowers. Gale loves to watch you when you explore, your eyes getting big when you hold a pretty or soft plant. He will tell you the scinetific name for blooms as Halsin safely lets you explore nature.
The druid carves you handmade toys. All sorts of animals to play with, blocks to stack, and monsters to fight. He adores watching you play with his carvings using your magic to have them float or holding them and babbling. You are spoiled in the toy department from Halsins wooden creatures to Astarions stuffed animals.
Gale is constantly working to keep you intellectually and emotionally stimulated with everyone. The entire camp babbles with you, draws with you, reads with you, talks with you, tells you stories, plays with you. He is a very active father. He has plans for your emotional, health, intellectual, and physical milestones. Hes also the dad who records everything. He is creating a journal / scrapbook of your childhood and he is not ashamed of how much he loves you. You are his everything.
If the demi god god so much as sniffles, everyone is panicked. Halsin works with Gale on naturalistic and magical cures to their ailment. Shadowheart is also very diligent in this field not wanting the kid to feel hurt or sick ever. Halsin makes the best tea, Gale cooks the best soup, and Shadowheart hums the best lullabies when you feel unwell. Everyone has a different way of helping wanting you to feel safe and secure. Thankfullu demigod rarley get ill so it's mostly tummy aches and growth pains then fevers and true sickness.
Mama K or Aunty Karlach is probably the best babysitter ever. As a demigod your immune to her flames and can't be hurt by her Infernal Engine. Your presence actually makes her engine hurt less, something everyone attributes to your divine nature.
If you're fussy and can't nap, Gales Netherese orb or Karlachs infernal engine always soothes you. The Netheres orb has a pulse to it that's comforting to you while Karlachs chest is warm with a gentle ticking noise. You love curling up in her arms and sleeping because of how warm she is.
Karlach wants to tell you about her life about how she grew up, but she doesn't want to scare you. Avernus and the Nine Hells aren't exactly friendly and she'd rather Enver never come near you. Still, sometimes if she's having a sentimental moment she may talk about her parents and some different places in Hell that weren't all terrible.
Karlach loves to hold and cuddle you and often lets you borrow Clive despite your growing stuffed animal collection. She makes silly faces and plays games with you, keeping you entertained. Gale trusts Karlach to watch you and knows she'll take care of you, the tiefling is undoubtedly soft. Though when she throws and catches you much to your squealing delight, Gale does never have a panic attack almost every time.
Scratch and the Owlbear Cub adore you! They love to play and are very gentle with you, never once harming you with their claws or teeth. Gale was panicked at first, worried about them accidentally harming you but the camp companions are nothing but careful. They are the perfect fluffy and feathery play mates. Scratch brings you his ball so you can throw it with your little hands or magic and Owlbear carries you on his back, acting as a cool older brother who gives you rides. Owlbear also loves preening you playfully playing with your hair. Scratch and the Owlbird often ask for pets showing their bellies to you and they love to nap with you keeping you safe as you toddle around before sleeping. The animals are very protective of you, and if there's any perceived danger, they keep you near them safe from harm. Tara finds their antics amusing.
Shadowheart acts like she hates the baby at first but when no one's listening or watching she loves to play with you. Her humming always soothes you to sleep.
You share her love for dumb romance novels it seems. One night while reading outloud for fun, Shadowhearts voice soothed your crying and fussing. You are a bookworm because of your father, but apprentally you enjoy romance trash as much as his take on complicated Weave Theory. Wyll finds this hilarious while Gale fears Shadowheart will get you hooked on those dumb smut novels when you're old enough, heavens forbid.
She finds her scar from Shar doesn't hurt when you're around. Mystras blessing in you somehow blocks out Shars curse in her. She doesn't tell anyone about this, but it's clear when she's having a bad day your presence cheers her up. She was raised not to make attachments or connections but she finds your laughter irresistible and tries not to think too hard on how your presence makes the shadows in her mind disappear. You are a beacon of light.
She worries about your health and growth and often spends time with Gale researching on how to handle your quick development. Many demigods don't make it to adulthood as they get targeted or their god side becomes to much for their mortal side, she will not let that happen to you.
Lae'zel is not a child person but she finds herself falling in love with the kid rather quickly. She keeps asking Gale when she can gift you your first sword and begin teaching you how to fight as Gith start much quicker in combat than most species.
She does tumble roll and other exercises with you when she watches you. Baby development involves tummy time, rolling, which leads to crawling and running. While she may not understand the entire process as Gith mature faster than humans due to being born from an egg she takes time to learn what needs to be done. As you grow, she's careful to do proper enrichment and stretching so your body is healthy and your muscles are strong.
Lae'zel takes time to teach you about her culture and her people as well as armory knowledge and weapon handling. Holding you in her lap with weapons nearby but not in your reach, she explains their uses and how to take care of them. She speaks of battles shes won and scars shes gained over the years. Gale has had to cut her off during particularly violent stories but the Gith means no harm. The Wizard gets alarmed when you clap at some of Lae'zels more violent stories while Karlach cheers and Astarion snickers. Mystra save him...
Your favorite stories are always about her riding red dragons. She tells you of her culture. Of Githyanki trails and rituals. How you are lucky to be raised by a father as she never had one. She explains how her people raise dragons. How they catch and ride wild ones. How dangerous they are, how beautiful. She lifts you circling you in the sky, promising you that one day she'll teach you to ride your own.
Minthara is rather fond of the demigod. You show strength and promise from a young age and while she's not a fan of Gale she enjoys you. A soreceress or sorcerer is much stronger than a Wizard after all.
Much like Lae'zel the drow speaks of her culture and how she grew up in the UnderDark. And every time Minzobarzen is brought up Gale has to get ready to cast a silence spell or grab you and leave. The drow is surprisingly maternal. Ver overprotective but in the weirdest ways. She'll let you hold a sword at age two but won't let you talk to strangers and will consider everything and everyone a risk outside the camp.
Wyll is one of the best options to be your babysitter. He is great with kids and adores them balancing being fun with safe in a way many other companions lack. He tells some of the best stories and uses all the voices like how Gale does. He has many stories to tell and you always babble and clap for more. No matter hoe old you get telling stories will always be your way of bonding with people.
You don't fear his horns. You like them. Whenever Wyll goes to hold you, your small hands grab for his face. When he leans down you babble and grab his horns just like you do with Karlach. You also have a thing for grabbing people's tails liking to hold onto them.
Gale often finds himself smiling, watching Wyll dance and hum holding his child. The Blade of Frontiers has a soft spot for dancing and whispers to you about his life in the court before his deal with Mizora. Your eyes always get so wide as you listen to the half fiend speak of court life and gentry. He's heard the man tell you more than once if he becomes Duke you will have a place in his court.
