Finally, after two months of hard work, the Blood Knights have arrived!
And while the models themselves look very pretty and I'm very proud of how they turned out, I'm not *entirely* happy with how the bases ended up. But given this is my first serious attempt at snow and ice (once again, thank you everyone for all the kind words and advice), I think it's okay. Sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something :)
But you might say, "Wait, Ignis, didn't you paint these specifically to play AoS or something? Why are they on square bases?". And to that I can only say...
I did get a chance to play with these lovely suckers this Friday. I really wanted to wait for them to be finished (I hate playing with models that are unfinished), but my opponent was *very* desperate to get a game in, ensured me he'd even be okay if I just played with empty bases. So I obliged.
Due to a few misplays and a bit of bad luck, I did get tabled by turn three, yet somehow just by the sheer tenacity of my opening play, the game actually ended way closer than it had any right to. Most importantly, it was very fun and I can't wait to play some more! I'll probably keep Soulblight Gravelords as my go-to Spearhead for now, and try to progress towards getting Skaven as the "full" 1000 points army. But that will have to wait... a long while...
Next up, perhaps something small as a palette cleanser? But after that, *comedy*!
