For years, something for me that began as a spiritual quest, became a major interest, then blossomed into a major hobby, has borne fruit in the form of a personal movement I like to call: PRUF, which stands for Progressive Revelation, Universal Faith. It is my feeble attempt as a mere mortal man to finally reconcile the world of the west..i,e liberal, universal Salvationist Christians, to the world of the east, i.e. Bahaism. It has been my long term opinion..and this is putting it in as compact of an explanation as possible: that the liberal Christian-Humanist movement was not doing enough to 1) Globalize it's message and 2) recognize the value of Bahaullah's message and that the Bahai Faith was not doing enough to 1) also globalize it's message (too much Persian influence) and 2) recognize the Supreme stature of Jesus Christ as the figurehead overall of God's Holy Messengers. Christianity still does not recognize and accept that the angel Gabriel could have spoken to Muhammed, or that the Holy Spirit could have spoken through the Bab or Bahaullah, or accept the Dharmic philosophies which came before them. This is contrary to Jesus' teachings when he said, "I have many not of this fold, I must bring them also." The Baha'i faith wrongly assumes that the latest of God's messengers is the most important. It fails to recognize the unique Messiahship of Jesus Christ. It also ostracized itself and the use of outdated and antiquated language when translating the Scriptures of Bahaullah. It furthermore puts a strain on true globalization by sticking to their outdated calendar from Persia that prevents the celebration of any liturgical holiday. Therefore it is been my mission to reconcile these two things into the form of a new calendar, where all major religious festivals can be celebrated in their own context. In this new universal calendar today marks the end of the year, and the beginning of intercalary days leading up to the first Sunday of Advent. In a very Wiccan and Hindu context, the year has died and is now in an implantation stage for the next year. These answer calorie days are highlighted by the birth of the Bab, the day of the covenant, and Thanksgiving., which despite being an original American holiday should be celebrated globally as the largest interfaith holiday of its kind in the world. During this time, the Daily Office is suspended, any unnecessary work is foregone, as we should all relax, enjoy time with our families, ponder what a year it has been. And read your hearts for the birth of the Light of the World. I invite you to join with me in this time...forget the Gregorian calendar and take a much needed week off...check out a little bit....end some silly obligations...just have fun. That's what I am gonna try and do and if I am the only one...so be it. And remember...it's HAPPY HOLIDAYS! As an interfaither, there is so much to celebrate: Yule, Hannukah, Christmas, epiphany....Happy Holidays is the proper greeting and HAVING a happy holiday is the "Reason for the Season" Amen
