Yes this is a ship. No Mac is not a minor. Mac is 20, Simon is 24. This was the first time I drew them and wasn’t as careful with their proportions and muscle definition. This version of Macroburst is supposed to be a non-passing afab NB. I thought I did a very good job of portraying that until I got daily harassment from people assuming that they are a minor. Yes, I put this on all of my content now because you can scream until you are blue that you are just drawing a trans twink and people still want to be obtuse.

I’m trying really hard to give them character.

Here’s some more about my AU and my Macroburst:

Back before the NSA was founded, heroism was an illegal form of vigilantism. People who used their powers were often killed or imprisoned for “fear” they would harm humans. However, in 1930 they would land into a depression and rising crime-rates. If the cops weren’t going to help, then people who can WOULD.

In comes the Glory Seekers.

A group of supers in costumes who would help where the police refused. They believed they had a responsibility to protect the public with the gifts they were given. It’s only because of them the US agreed to recognize Hero-work and implement the NSA: a subset of the government that keeps human and super public-relations in check. Or so they say.

One day, one of the Founding fathers of the Glory Seekers, Seymour Glass, would notice an infant stuck in a tree.

After rescuing the child and waiting months for parents to respond, it was clear the child was dumped there.

The child had some of the most amazing Aerokinesis they had ever seen. The 5 members of the group would have a vote (that Seymour would lose) and decided to raise the child as their own. They knew that one day they would be too weak to fight for others and that they could help raise a new generation to fight for their own. Seymour, a psychiatrist, would refuse, knowing how it could damage the child.

They came up with a compromise. Keep the child’s identity a secret by masking their gender. The child’s secret identity would then be impossible to sleuth. (But it would do irrevocable damage to Macroburst’s sense of gender.)

Macroburst has no chosen name at this moment, but I have been thinking about Cloud, Mackenzie or Milo.

Seymour (Everseer) is their adopted guardian, as well as Mentor. Mac has mixed feelings about calling him their father, but ultimately regards him as one. Though they may have lived with Seymour, Mac spent a lot of his childhood being trained by all 5 members of the Glory Seekers (Universal, Hypershock, Plasmabolt, Dynaguy). I like to add bits of all 5 to their personality.

Will not hesitate to beat your ass — Hypershock

Cautious and Paranoid about perception — Everseer

Loyal and defends until the end — Plasmabolt

Go with the flow and expect the impossible— Dynaguy

Identity issues— I mean. Stealth and strength — Universal

Mac’s hobbies include: dance (very fond of ballet), acrobatics, paragliding, painting, gardening and gardening 🍃 (And it was super illegal at this time so they are really punk for it)

Mac’s lifetime dream is to eventually kill the Macroburst identity and become the super the Glory Seekers wanted for them.

In Mac’s office in their house is a room covered in paintings, drawings, designs, blue-prints for a superhero named Zephyr. A gender ambiguous alien who fell from the clouds and feels compelled to protect Planet Earth.

Mac over-achieves and hurts themselves often by working too much in striving to become that hero one day.

So in the Macrobeam comic is Macroburst wearing a shirt or a chest compressor?

So if I am correct, the comic your talking about he has on like a tank, right? I think at the time I intended for their bobs to be small and in a tank. However!

I have started drawing him with tape. Please do not ever do this method. Mac is only doing it because in their time, this is all they have. Mac exhibits unsafe binding practices that should not be copied.

That being said—

Macroburst is a dangerous body taper who is lucky to have their lungs.

They wake up early to tape their chest. This is in anticipation for active missions— never know when you’ll have to quick change into the supersuit.

In Universe A-113, at the NSA headquarters, heroes are to report back after every event. There’s locker-rooms there with training facilities and showers. Mac always stays behind to get the men’s showers all to themselves. Sometimes they pose in the mirror and pretend a crowd is cheering in anticipation of becoming the Hero they wish to be.

Considering how canonically Gazerbeam and Everseer dislike each other, how did Everseer react to Macroburst’s relationship with Gazer? How has this affected Macro and Everseer’s overall relationship?

Why do they look different? I am using the official Universe A-113 designs now.
