Things We Love About Our Brand New, Fully Configurable, US-Manufactured, Beautifully Handcrafted Open Source Keyboard
The robots have donned their space gear, and are now boarding the rocket. The Launch configurable keyboard is available for pre-order!
Before we start the countdown, here’s a quick rundown of the things we love about La—oh my that’s a lot of things. Let’s see...What info about our fully configurable keyboard can we sum up about how much we love the fully configurable Launch? It’s on the tip of our tongue, but we can’t fully configure it…
No wait, you can!
IF IT’S FULLY CONFIGURABLE...WHAT CAN I CONFIGURE?
Your Layout
Bring commonly used keys right beneath your fingertips. Remap your layout in the System76 Keyboard Configurator application, and then move your keycaps to match. Launch uses only three key sizes (1U, 1.5U, and 2U) to expand your options!
Your “Space” Bar
We’ve shrunk the traditional Space Bar from a single 5U key down to two adjacent 2U keys in the same location. This allows you to swap a Space key with Fn, Bksp, Shift, or Esc key for easy access with your thumb—without losing existing habits.
Your Layers
Simply put, layers are layouts. Toggling to a second layer gives you access to specific functionalities mapped to each key in that layer. Launch has two layers mapped by default, with up to four layers total for you to play around with.
With layers, you have the freedom to fully configure™ your keyboard to your liking: Swap Caps Lock with Esc, add an Insert key or NumPad, use a non-QWERTY layout, and so on. You can even set a layer to reconfigure an application’s shortcuts to keys that make more sense to you. Your customization options are endless!
Your Accent Colors
Launch’s brown Esc key and arrow keys spruce up the keyboard’s aesthetic with a rich, I’m-not-at-my-desk-I’m-at-a-French-cafe-having-chocolate-and-coffee vibe. But if brown’s not your style, Launch packaging also includes red or blue replacements. Match the wood veneer of your Thelio or mix-and-match colors until your palate is adequately pleased.
Your LEDs
By default, Launch exhibits a soothing, side-flowing rainbow pattern to hypnotize users into loving their product. (It works.) Scientifically speaking, however, only 10 percent of the population is highly susceptible to hypnosis—so chances are, you’ll be alert enough to succumb to curiosity. Cycle through various LED patterns straight from your keyboard or from the keyboard configurator. Set a vortex pattern, solid color, or a pattern which only lights up mapped keys on the current layer. And for minimalists, “OFF” is also an available cycle!
Launch LEDs flash U-N-L-O-C-K-E-D in sequence to let you know that your firmware is being updated. In addition to telling you that something is happening behind the scenes, it also makes for a fun light show.
Your Workplace
Once you save your configurations, your personal adjustments will travel with you wherever you go. Simply plug your keyboard into any workstation and plug away at whatever awesomeness you need to do!
Your Workspace
From the central USB-C port on Launch, you can connect to your computer via the included USB-A or USB-C cords. The attached USB hub also brings two USB-A and two USB-C ports to your desk. Plug accessories straight into the keyboard’s hub and take advantage of fast file transfers — such as a 1TB video file in as little as 15 minutes. Let the wire organizing commence!
Your Platform
System76’s Launch keyboard is compatible not only with Pop!_OS and other Linux distros, but on Windows and macOS as well. Download the Keyboard Configurator application wherever it’s available, and have fun personalizing your Launch!
UM...CAN YOU CONFIGURE ME UP A KEYBOARD?!

My USB Silicone Dust Cover Cap Review - Part 1 (with my Paper Dolls) [Aug 7, 2021]
Hello! Time for another item to review this month!🙂
Here’s Part 1 of my USB Silicone Dust Cover Cap review (with my Paper Dolls).😊
This is a must-have item that wants to cover our USB type A sockets from PC/Desktop or USB Extensions/ Hubs to prevent unwanted dust. And in this part, I’ll be tested out to see if it fits.💻🖥🙂
BTW: In case you missed my Part 3 of my My UGREEN USB Extensions: Cable and Hub - USB 3.0 variant Review, then please [CLICK ME!].
So without further ado, let’s get started:
1st & 2nd Image(s):
• Here are my USB Silicone Dust Cover Caps looks like, inside in one single package. At first glance, I thought these cover caps are made of solid material plastic but it’s a squishy silicone rubber plastic material.🙂
•My paper dolls saying that they look like a delicious gum snack like gummy bears but in different shapes.🍬 Yeah, but it’s not food nor a gummy bear reference. So try not to eat... Unless of course you’re made out of cardboard paper.😅
3rd & 4th Image(s): • I unpack from the plastic and I lining up via (reverse) telephone dial position... Well kind of. With a total of ten pieces of USB cover caps, I think I have enough to cover my unused USB sockets.🙂
• Still, you can’t eat up though, or you might end up with vomit. Eating silicone plastic objects are not allowed to eat for younger kids.😉
5th & 6th Image(s): • Anyways, to test it, I have two Ugreen USB Extension Cable and Hub (3.0 variant) to see how it fits. I use that plastic for my USB Hub for a weeks now. Same goes to my USB cable (with nylon braided), I use my un-brand USB type C cable as a USB protector; I’ve been waiting for weeks until my order of USB cover caps has arrived at my house, so here we are. 📦✈️
• My paper dolls seem excited to see as well, and they promise that they won’t eat my USB cover caps. Okay good.🙂👍 Let’s move to our next two snapshots.
7th & 8th Image(s): • Here, you see my two Ugreen items are now completely covered with my USB cover caps; my USB Hub seems perfectly fit and sealed, my USB extension cable on the other hand seems pretty okay, though I was expecting to seal it like the USB hub, that’s fine by me.☺️👍
• My paper dolls appreciate it, and they say that they love the color you choosing. Thanks.😊 I pick this color because not only it’s my favorite personal color but also it’s a perfect fit for my USB 3.0 sockets of two Ugreen USB items.🔵
9th & 10th Image(s): • I only have 6 USB cover caps remaining, so why not add another one for my PC desktop.🖥😁 And it looks quite fit, to be honest.😊
BTW: On your left, that’s my UGREEN USB Bluetooth Adapter. I haven’t updated my review topic since February 27 [CLICK ME!] of this year, and so far it functions pretty well. If you want to see my parts about it, then please [CLICK ME!]. And uhh my apologies for the dust, I should it clean it before I take a snap.
• My paper dolls saying that it fits well on my PC desktop. Yeah indeed.😁 And they also saying that will it fit on my USB chargers. 🤔 Hmmm... I haven’t tried yet, to be honest. But will see in my next part.😉
Overall: • I’m happy that I order this USB cover cap, this is good when I’m disconnecting from my functional USB devices I could plug my cover cap to prevent dust and particles.😊
• I purchased 10 pieces of USB cover cap from Lazada 🇵🇭 for ₱57.05, with a shipping cost of ₱41.50 (at the time). A total of ₱ 98.55, but I do have an ₱8.07 off on my voucher so now it’s ₱90.48. That’s a fair deal for me.😊👍 Please [CLICK ME!] to see the item. It also has different colors to choose from; aside from light blue (which you just saw), there’s also dark blue, white, red, black, and even transparent. Black would be nice to fit, but unfortunately, I can’t see it though, to be honest.😅 It’s a good thing that there’s blue color available.🔵🙂
Anyways, that’s all for now, and I’ll see you in Part 2. If you want to see my previous parts from my Ugreen USB Extensions topic, then I’ll provide some links down below.↓😉

Orange Cats
Last night I had a long and meandering dream where at one point I was at a vast flea market/antique store. I noticed a lot of people were selling Oliver finger puppets from Oliver & Company, which was heartwarming. Then I looked more closely and realized they were actually Scratch Fury U.S.B. hubs from P.V.P. 3.0, which was vexing.
Fixing ‘My USB Hub 3.0 Mini Portable’ using my soldering tools (w/ my Paper Dolls) [Oct. 24, 2020]Hi, it is time to fix my USB Hub 3.0 Mini
Looks like that my P-Pal gotten every tools that he needed to fixed his USB Hub 3.0 Mini Portable. However, this will be his first time he'll tried to fixed it on his own; knowing how he's older to figure things out as I was. Suddenly with a "shocking" twist, I saw his repair process and I felt the same feeling with my main Animal OC's feeling. It was so close though, but at least he tried his best to fixing his USB Hub 3.0 on his own. My main Animal OCs agreeds, including for 🦊⚽️Sam that he had hope about my P-Pal's USB Hub 3.0 getting fixed right. There will be a newer USB Hub for my P-Pal like to bring it soon. For now his old USB Hub 3.0 Mini Portable, may rest in peace....🙏
