The Ustrel (Устрел) is a type of vampire from Bulgaria. In Bulgarian folklore, it is said that the ustrel is an evil creature that is cursed with the strong desire to drink blood. Typically it focuses on the blood of cattle.
What does an Ustrel look like? During the course of its existence, the ustrel will look differently depending on how long it has been alive and how old it is. Early in their lives, they are said to resemble a mutant version of a human, or possibly something similar to a monkey – having no neck, a nose resembling a pig snout, red eyes, and long black nails. This appearance changes over time.
How are Ustrels made? The Ustrel is said to be the ghost or soul of a child conceived and born on a Saturday but that died before receiving baptism. Nine days after death, in traditional vampire style, the child rises from the grave to suck the blood from its victims. When the Ustrel first comes into existence, it is relatively weak, however each night that it survives and drinks more blood, it becomes stronger and stronger.
How to Avoid the Ustrel: It is said that the Ustrel attacks only at night, and it is weakest on Saturdays. The Bulgarian vampire hunter called the vampirdzhija has the special ability to see the ustrel and so would be another resource if confronted with this type of vampire. The ustrel can be destroyed by a special fire.

Don't you hate when you try to draw a character after such a long time just to find out you can't draw them as you used to.
Anyway..new(?) design of Ives...This guy has gotten way too many redesigns.
500 yo. shota vampire that can broke your neck but doesn't because he's nice.
Ustrel: Area from/Nationality: Bulgarian. Vampire that preyed exclusively on cattle. Thought to be the spirit of an unbaptisied child that who was born on a Saturday but has recently died. Nine days after burial the child would dig out of its grave and surface as a vampire - a very hungry vampire. Within ten days of feeding the ustrel is strong enough to remain above ground, nestled in the horns of an animal or between the hind legs of a mulch cow. It will continue to feed from the cows unless it’s removed. Needfires (fires created for superstitious reasons) will rid the vamp from the herd; the creature will simply drop off the cow as it passes through the flames. But, for several days no man or woman should approach the remains of the flames, for the ustrel will call out their name and then follow them home.
Ives has changed a lot since the first time I draw him :> and I must admit I really love his design right now~
Why do you run away? What did I do wrong? ...Stay Please ...Stay ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm finally on vacations and my plan for this summer is to show more my charcters and their stories. This is Ives, a Ustrel vampire [link] He's a nice guy who would never hurt anyone, but has the bad luck to always scare those who he loves away. Only his "brothers and sisters" understand him.
