The Immortal Thor
Thor is king of Asgard. Thor brings peace to his realms, fights who he must but only as much as he needs, and on occasion puts a stop to the schemes of his sibling, Loki. But when the skies darken with thunderclouds not his own, he must face off against gods older than even his grandfather, and answer the question: what are the Utgard gods? And what is Utgard?
As always, Al Ewing writes an excellent comic book. There's many twists and turns (and mockeries of capitalism and Elon Musk, if you'll read Roxxon Presents Thor) along the way. A lot of the book showcases Thor specifically, and not his overwhelming strength, but his ability to form allies and figure things out. Loki, especially, pushes Thor harder to use his brain more for the challenges ahead, as the threats are truly on another level from anything he's faced before.
It was a comic I consistently enjoyed. I don't know if I would say it's top-tier, but it's very good, and everything plays out well. It also ended so that it could set up its next series, the title of which is a spoiler, but is listed at the end of issue #25, the final issue for The Immortal Thor.
If you like Thor, you'll like this. And if not, you may yet be swayed.
the true dilfs of mcga are frey and utgard loki
OC HC: Locke is the goddess/god of Merriment, (Gaiety and fun, mirth,Tomfoolery etc ; synonyms of Tomfoolery:Mischeif,Tricks, Harleyquinade, Antics, etc.)
Tricks, cunning and magic, witchery, and all illusions, life, Hope, rebirth, love&lust, and etc(explain rest later.)
Locke Skrymir is the huld/huldra daughter to utgard loki and huld Odin's mistress I thought of what if? She wasn't the mistress of odin, but the mistress to utgard loki disguised as odin.
Locke is also the huldra daughter to Eve and she has 2 other dad's that her other mother eve is very familiar with. Since loki is brains and mind, thor is brawns and strength, so this would make locke the heart and Beauty, the "glue" that sticks them together. Locke and her brother loki are like two halves of the same coin.(similairities in clothing, independence, authority, and style💚.Mischeif and merriment)
As for her big sis hela, since locke can bring life she can also take it away if she wished to(locke goddess of merriment and tricks is like a combo Rapunzels healing incantation song that brings life and also her hurt incantation that brings death locke's hair is both dark like loki's and hela's but also bright blonde like thor and her other big sis Sylvie.) She's like baby sis that is grown, but they treat her like an angel also her crown is like a combo of loki and his wife sigyn's crown.
- Jormungandr: What? No, I’m not gonna pretend to be a cat for some childish trick-
- Utgard Loki: It’s needed to pull a prank on Thor and make him look stupid.
- Jormungandr:
- Jormungandr: Okay, I’m listening
I usually prefer myths over media based on myths (though I do adore the media) but I would absolutely go FERAL for Utgard-Loki in Magnus Chase.
Imagine how protective he’d be over his human. When he doesn’t have the alley shrunk down human-size he’s keep you in a shirt pocket or something. Building a “doll”house for you to hang out in while the place is giant-sized (complete with running water, he may be a giant but he isn’t a monster).
When everyone’s gone home for the day he shrinks the alley down and goes to your guys’ bedroom where you get the Best Cuddles Ever while he feeds you grapes or something romantic like that.
(If I had a read more on mobile y’all KNOW what else I’d be talking about)
Thor in the glove of Skrymir (Utgard Loki) by Emil Doepler 1905
"Thereupon he left his goats behind, and began his journey eastward toward Jötunheim and clear to the sea; and then he went out over the sea, that deep one; but when he came to land, he went up, and Loki and Thjálfi and Röskva with him. Then, when they had walked a little while, there stood before them a great forest; they walked all that day till dark. Thjálfi was swiftest-footed of all men; he bore Thor's bag, but there was nothing good for food. As soon as it had become dark, they sought themselves shelter for the night, and found before them a certain hall, very great: there was a door in the end, of equal width with the hall, wherein they took up quarters for the night. But about midnight there came a great earthquake: the earth rocked under them exceedingly, and the house trembled. Then Thor rose up and called to his companions, and they explored farther, and found in the middle of the hall a side-chamber on the right hand, and they went in thither. Thor sat down in the doorway, but the others were farther in from him, and they were afraid; but Thor gripped his hammer-shaft and thought to defend himself. Then they heard a great humming sound, and a crashing. "But when it drew near dawn, then Thor went out and saw a man lying a little way from him in the wood; and that man was not small; he slept and snored mightily. Then Thor thought he could perceive what kind of noise it was which they had heard during the night. He girded himself with his belt of strength, and his divine power waxed; and on the instant the man awoke and rose up swiftly; and then, it is said, the first time Thor's heart failed him, to strike him with the hammer. He asked him his name, and the man called himself Skrýmir,--'but I have no need,' he said, 'to ask thee for thy name; I know that thou art Ása-Thor. But what? Hast thou dragged. away my glove?' Then Skrýmir stretched out his hand and took up the glove; and at once Thor saw that it was that which he had taken for a hall during the night; and as for the side-chamber, it was the thumb of the glove."
