Perhaps dangling taiyaki in front of Takeru wasn’t the best way to say hello, but it was definitely the best way to make a Mako giggle; why keep two to herself when she knew how much he loved them~?

She actually had been practicing while he wasn’t around; it’d been a nice way to keep herself distracted from thoughts of how he was doing and her life offline, though she wasn’t going to tell him that. No, this was a hug simply because being near him at the moment felt right... And because she felt like she should.
“It uh...” She needed and excuse and knew it, but what? He was warm and hugging him was something Alanna didn’t exactly want to stop just yet, arms loosely wrapped around him so he could pull free anytime he wanted, so- “It... Flew away on its own. Kindda spooked me, really.” That should work, provided he couldn’t read the pure I thought we could both use this in her eyes the moment she looked up to him-
@linksensed just because-
Caramel-colored hair curled around a finger, giving the strands a little tug; there had to be a better way than this, right? Cafe Nagi was shut down for the evening, Kusanagi was.. Somewhere, Mako hadn’t a clue where, and she’d been left alone with... Him. She needed to talk to him, sure, but maybe this would’ve been easier with someone else there...?
“Fujiki-san?” Even if it was, she knew she’d never be able to walk into the apartment she shared with her boyfriend and get away with saying she hadn’t asked, either, leading to a small, admittedly nervous, smile. “Do you have a moment? I wanted to ask a favor-”

Wait- Wait, had he said somewhere in Link VRAINS? He didn’t expect her to actually use her board to find him, did he? She could barely stand on the thing as it was, eyes widening at the prospect of basically playing hide and seek just for the sake of getting her to ride her board. ‘Wait- Wait, Soulburner-”
No luck; no matter how quickly she tried to get his name out, he was gone beforeshe’d gotten halfway through it, leaving Alanna alone with the ‘demon board’ under her feet. “Just because you have a nice smile doesn’t mean I won’t throw this thing at you later,” the brunette mumbled, glancing around for any sign of him. Well, she had originally wanted to do this alone...
Still easier said than done when even getting the board up a little higher off the ground was terrifying-! “I swear he better m-make this good...”
@soulburnings
Quiet. It was too quiet, silence only broken by muffled sobs. On some level, Mako knew she was being ridiculous; so what if the lobby had gone quiet for a bit? Foot traffic had stopped for a little while, and the employee manning the front desk had simply gone on break, that was all. It wasn’t like the entire world had vanished just from half an hour of quiet!
But to the girl curled into a tight ball against the wall, tucked away near the chair she’d been reading in a short time before, that was exactly what it felt like. The world all around her had vanished, left her behind - she was alone and nobody had noticed. Nobody cared. Nobody was there she could scream to or run to or- Where was everyone? Why did it have to be so quiet, so-?
“Come back... P-Please...”
@soulburnings
Touch him. He’s not going to kill you if you do.
The thought was a common one, Mako’s gaze drifting to her best friend’s hand. She knew it’d be fine; Takeru was spending the night before she had to leave the country for a week, easing her fears and worries about her flight the next morning simply by keeping her company. Honestly, if she’d had it in her, she could’ve kissed him for not teasing her instead!
But having him so close and knowing they’d be an ocean apart, at least, for a bit had her at war with herself. It was the perfect chance to buck her worries and talk to him, actually make a move towards sorting out the mess of feelings she had whenever he was around, and yet.. She didn’t want to leave with him in a bad mood or worse, either. She could, but if something went wrong... But what if nothing went wrong? But she could still...
Laying a hand on the couch, she left the side of it press against his, swallowing her nerves for but a moment. “Thanks... F-For staying with me tonight, Takeru.”

Oh- She hadn’t expected the show of gratitude, Mako’s cheeks flushing just the barest shade of pink. She was more used to just handing over dropped items and that was it, but this... “A-Ah- I-It’s something t-that happens, sometimes. They c-come loose - There’s a craft s-store around here that sells some strong fasteners, if you.. N-Need a new way of holding it in place-”
The pink darkened, just slightly; who was to say he’d even want advice on that? “I mean... It’s a deck box, r-right? Most of m-my cards aren’t physical anymore, b-but something like this’s t-too important.”
@rxvclver
“Excuse me...?”
If there was one thing Mako didn’t catch herself doing often, it was stopping someone with a light tap on their shoulder - Twice as much so when she was running late for work already as it was. But with the sky above practically black with clouds threatening to downpour, she couldn’t help but hold out her umbrella to him, smile small but present on her lips.
“It’ll start raining any minute now. You should take this - So you don’t get soaked.”
