Even Chucky, asshole that he is, seems supportive. If you start walking on your own, without my help, imagine how much we can do. She rolls her eyes and grips the two bars in front of her, mainly using the strength in her arms to pull herself to a standing position. Nica manages a small laugh before looking down at her feet, taking a short, hesitant step forward. She follows it with another, then looks at Maya with a small smile. “Okay, so maybe you were right.”
