DARCY | starter for @elusivefop
Mr. Darcy had known the Blakeney family as acquaintances for quite some time; they owned a lodge that abutted Pemberley, though Darcy knew Sir Blakeney and his wife did not often make the journey up to Derbyshire. However, now that Mr. and Mrs. Darcy were in London for a few months, it seemed they were destined to run into all sorts of acquaintances at one point or another. The endless parade of niceties did nothing but wear Darcy out, especially during times when Elizabeth could not accompany him.
But even though he wanted nothing more than to be at home, in solitude, he bowed to Sir Blakeney as the man approached him. A vain hope whispered that maybe that would be enough, even as his more practical mind knew there was likely another conversation ahead.
