“Vaike? What in the world are you doing?”

These were the words that lept out of your mouth the very second you walked into your shared room. The blonde-haired man was standing on a tall stool, trying to hang up the second half of a banner that had the words, ‘Happy birthday!’ sprawled across them.

He turned around and his gaze landed on you, a casual grin coming to his face as he waved at you. “Oh, (Y/N)! Didn’t think you’d get home this early,” You furrowed your brows in response, opening your mouth to reiterate your question. However, Vaike spoke up before you could say anything. “yeah, I was just setting up for your birthday party.”

This confused you, for it absolutely was not your birthday. As you voiced this, Vaike blinked a few times before he lightly hit himself on the head, laughing.

“Sorry, didn’t finish. I meant I was setting up for your birthday party for me!” You couldn’t help but snort at his response, only to clear your throat.

“Oh? And what do I have planned for this birthday I’m apparently planning for you?” Vaike climbed down the ladder he was on, almost knocking it over as he reached the floor.

He turned around, putting his hands on his hips with a bright grin on his face. “Well, I’m so glad you asked! First, there’s this conversation happening right now, and then there’s some cuddling, and finally we f—”

You decided maybe it would be for the best that you interrupted him before he could finish that sentence. “Maybe not the third thing… Not today.” Vaike seemed to pout, and you walked forward, poking his nose smugly. “I would absolutely love to cuddle with ‘The Vaike’ for a while.” Before he could say anything, you pull the man into a hug. He grinned again, crushing you in a tight hug right back and resting his chin on your head. You could practically feel the smug aura radiating off of him.

“(Y/N),” He spoke up, and you glanced up at him, seeing his smug look. “I’ve got to tell ya something.”

“I know it’s not your birthday, Vaike.”

besides, now that you're a couple, you always have a training partner by your side!
