4c said that when Rue oxidized if they came back they wouldn’t be rue and wouldn’t remember (because he thought the name would go away)

But what if that happens to 4c if his soul gets taken away?

A shell of a slime with no memory of Nom or Mae or Shan. A shell wondering why they want to pickpocket the guy in lion armor. A shell questioning why climbing walls comes so easy. A shell that already has minor trust to these people who he just met?

A shell that feels disappointment in themself from the get go. From what though they don’t know.

How would his friends react? Would they try to turn him back into the old 4c or let him out into the world to become a new slime with new experiences?

Would Nom lose another person he saw as a sibling, feeling more guilt at failing his duty?

Would Mae be all alone again, forced to be a disgraceful rouge except now alone?

Would Shan hear another voice, one more person she will never truly hear again?

Perhaps the new 4c would stay but why stay in a place where people want the “old you” back. Even though you don’t know who that is…
