TW: manipulation, stalking, death (past), vampire turning (forced and willing), possessiveness, not quite kidnapping?? (forcing someone to stay against their will), depression and anger mentions, dependency and slight dysfunctionality, unhealthy relationships, dark material
It's Techno who finds you, and it's Techno who loses you.
He was Phil's first fledgling, long since turned - but he'd been hesitant about the whole thing, the few centuries ago the question came up
Who wanted to live forever? That sounded terrifying, to him. Why would he want that? There-there was just so much that could go wrong; what if he regretted it?
Eventually, he was turned, and now he's settled with the idea
Wilbur joined their small coven, then Tommy; then those outside their little family circle, their inner group of sire and prized fledglings
It was Techno who found you, all those years ago
Young, naive, tough; you were strong and brave, brash though reserved, with a fire that lit you from the inside out, like a candle with an everlasting flame
You two grew close, over time, human and vampire. It spurred into something that even Wil and Tommy hadn't been for him, not quite
His instincts purred at the very thought of you, murmurs of nestmate-mine and declaration of lovelovelove beating in his mind like his once-there heartbeat
Of course, you were introduced to Phil, and his brothers, and other important members of the coven, but you were Techno's
Like him, when proposed eternity, you were tentative and fearful
You wanted time to think about it. Techno said yes, of course; why wouldn't he? He had the rest of time, you had decades and decades spanning ahead of you, before he needed to seriously worry
At least, that's what they'd all thought
Then you'd gotten sick, so sick
No longer used to human illness, and with your downplaying the initial symptoms, it had been written off as something that would go away
That's what they'd all thought
It's what Techno had thought
The diagnosis of your terminal illness was like a slap to the face, lavender ash to his chest, a stake to the heart
It was the crushing weight of failure, of knowing he'd failed to protect you, to keep you safe, like he'd promised
Phil had insisted on your moving into the main house, their house, and you accepted
Tommy was always at your side, Wilbur always watching, ever attentive
Techno worked and worked, he went far and wide to find a solution. Phil pressed the prospect of vampirism, growing more and more stressed-upset the more you turned him down
It wore at them all.
Wilbur ended up calling Techno back, with news of your being bedridden and so, so frail.
He was there in an instant, swearing that he hadn't died until that day, when he held your shaking-pale-too cold hands in his own, weakness and tremors plaguing you. Exhaustion clearly weighed on you, eyes fluttering with every rattling breath, every labored-forced inhale you took.
The soft-sad-guilt smile you donned was his grave, his headstone, and the omen of what was to come.
You died, that night, and Techno's last shred of humanity was taken with it.
It wasn't for another decade and a half that he found you.
Tommy'd been guarded like none other. Wilbur had grown paranoid, switching between distant and dependent like the unpredictable rapids of a reef. Phil had become cold and firm, a ruling, unforgiving hand on the necks of human and vampirekind alike.
Techno grew distant and overprotective and angry.
Phil would be away for weeks at a time, in the temple of his Lady, fasting and sacrificing and pleading for something, anything from her.
Yet it was Techno who was whispered to.
It was him who was graced with a second chance, a redeeming life.
He found you, young and alive again, and found his breath returned.
Techno knew he'd have to prove himself again, and so he watched, and so he waited. He had eternity, though this time, so did you. He'd make sure of it, this time.
Nothing would keep him from his nestmate. Not anymore, not everagain.
He learned your routine, your schedule, your habits; your favorites and your icks. He waited, and he learned. Time was his ally, his reward.
And he reaped his reward.
He got you.
He got you.
You believed him, when he said you reminded him, you were his youngest, previously-passed brother. You believed him, and you kept coming back, you kept agreeing to meet him. You trusted him, and he took it with pride.
When he was sure it was enough, that you weren't afraid (or at least not tooafraid), he reintroduced you to the coven.
Tommy was ecstatic, clingy, hovering and buzzing with love-happy-homehome-nestmate
Wilbur was soft and tearful, gentle and just so awed as he brushed his hands over your face, your hair, arms--taking in as much of you as he could
Phil was quiet and firm, strong as he wrapped you in arms that would never let you go again, waning-warbling call of safe-fledgling-stay-mine rumbling in his throat
And yes, maybe you would ask to leave, later - to "go home," when you were home, home was right in front of you, it was here, it was them -
Yes, maybe you'd beg and cry and fearthem -
But you were home.
You were safe.
When the time came (and it did, whether or not you sobbed and pleaded and screamed--), you would choose Techno to turn you.
(It was a betrayal, of course it was, but even still--you knew him best. You knew him first, loved him first, trusted him most. You would hate him for it, possibly, but...you'd rather it be him.
(At the very least, they respected thatabout you.)
He was honored, and he was over the moon when your instincts had tentative-embarrassed sire calls whimpered at him
Techno wouldn't worry too much about your shame, your anxiety around them, now, and yourself. He had time to deal with it, to correct it, to fix it.

“No! No no no no no no!!!!” he dug his fingers into the dirt and pulled, fighting against the talons that were now buried in his sides, in his back, in his shoulders, his neck, like teeth…like teeth that tore and chewed and seeped blistering venom into his flesh-
He couldn’t free himself.
He could try, he could kick and claw and bite the hands and nails that dug into him, that dragged him deeper and deeper in the mud.
He could try.
Philza grit his teeth as something pulsed inside his veins, sending a dark flash across his vision.
A shell exploded nearby, sending debris and who knew what else across his sinking frame.
In the distance he heard something akin to a scream that was suddenly cut short with a gurgle.
Techno is a baby bat that was found by one of Phil's crows (a vampire). And when they arrive at Phil's castle Phil was very upset thinking that they had brought another dead animal like "Brian if you swallow a dead mouse again I will get mad" but then he realizes that it's a little baby bat hybrid and he's like "Little baby! Oh no! He's hurt 🥺" And that's how a vampire family adopted a little baby bat.
