Junsei's brow quirked when he finally caught her glower. "Something wrong with the view, doll?"
@makoxie asked:
❝ Hey , sweetheart . ❞ [ for junsei 🩵❤️ ]
That was new. Nevertheless, it drew a smile out of the waterbender since it didn't sound sarcastic. Junsei hummed in thought as he moved a little closer to Mako, still sporting that smirk paired with a look of curiosity in his eyes. "Hey yourself, hot shot. Did you need something from me? You've got my attention."
✦✦ || @leafcutterkatana asked junsei:
"This one doesn't understand this sport. You bend but not for combat or to improve your skills but to entertain? There has to be better uses of time and energy."
"It's not just for other's entertainment," Junsei began, his brows clearly furrowed after hearing pro-bending being boiled down to something like that. "I mean, yes, it is fun to watch and fun to play, but..." He paused, taking a moment to purse his lips in apprehension.
"What was it that my mentor said," he muttered more to himself as he tried to recall those words, knowing he wasn't the poetic type and it probably won't come out the way he wanted it to. "Something about how pro-bending teams show the elements working together as one cohesive unit," he laced his fingers together as if its woven nature mirrored his words, "but we're not using it to cause any harm. At least, not on purpose anyway; that would be against the rules. My mentor said it better, but anyway, it's going off of what Avatar Aang and his friends envisioned for the world."
He then unlinked his hands just so he could cross his arms across his broad chest. "And just because we aren't actually fighting doesn't mean pro-bending skills aren't useful out of the ring or in actual combat. I'm definitely a better bender because of it. Does that answer your question?"
✦✦ || @flamecarrier asked:
Soft lips brush over Junsei’s forehead — a smile, a gentle kiss pressed between his brows. Mei‑Ling breathes against his skin, whispering sweet nothings as he rests with his head in her lap. Her hand moves slowly through his dark hair. “You’re so adorable.~” Another kiss, this time on the tip of his nose. “Too adorable,” she hums softly.
The waterbender had his eyes closed so he could focus on the slow rhythm of the way her delicate fingers raked through his locks, the way her nails felt against his scalp in a soothing way. The softness of her lips against his face was something he would never get tired of, so he had zero plans of moving from this spot on her lap. These quiet moments in downtime were something to be savored and, Spirits, he was reveling in it. The low satisfied hum that rumbled through his chest could have been something akin to a very pleased capybara cat.
His eyes blinked open as she pulled back from that little nose kiss, those glacier blues meeting her soft lavender gaze.
"Hmm," he hummed again, but this time sounding a bit more contemplative. "Last I checked, my face wasn't a mirror because the only adorable one I see here is you, doll."
i want this to be the energy between junsei and his pro-bending teammates thanks
[ 🫀 ]ㅤ.ㅤwho taught them what love is ? did it hurt ? { for both ! 🩵 }

🫀 — who taught them what love is? did it hurt?
For Sumiko, she thought she knew what romantic love was, but she was told otherwise. So, she doesn't know what it actually is. (Her love was romantic love; but to the other person it didn't mean as much.) It hurt a lot. She now blinds herself to it.
For Junsei, familial love unconditionally was truly felt by him for the first time once he was taken in by the previous principal team members of the Komodo-rhino. While he had to build his skills to be better, he didn't have to prove himself to be something he wasn't. They accepted him as he was. HIs realization of that hurt — even though he was well aware of it once his half-brother was born and saw that his treatment from his grandfather was different his whole life. Yes, his mother loved him, but with his grandfather present, he always felt on edge.
Realizing this probably also made him value himself more in romantic relationships, especially if they were ones who were more into him just because of his looks or status.
[ 🎐 ]ㅤ.ㅤdo they have a sound, like a song or voice, that they associate with peace ? ( for junsei ! )

🎐 — do they have a sound, like a song or voice, that they associate with peace?
If asked this, the first thing Junsei would probably say is something not so peaceful, but the rush of relief and pride and joy that he gets when he hears the cheering of a crowd after a victorious game of pro-bending. It fills him with a sense of belonging, especially if it was a match where he and his teammates we so in sync. The sound fuels him to keep going, keep being better.
In a more peaceful tone and cliche way, while he doesn't hear it as often now that he lives in Omashu, but he definitely soaks it up when he's in Republic City, it's the sound of the ocean. Waves gently pushing and pulling. The laps on cliff sides or shorelines. He is a waterbender after all; while he can control it himself, just being able to listen to the way nature itself moves the water is soothing.
