If the server is going to be shut down and everyone gets booted, would it be possible to lock it for a few days for those of us who don't have a chance to read everything that happened today and yesterday? ;n;

it’s already shut down officially; we’re really sorry about that, anon! however, we had people who couldn’t make it in mind, and we’ve archived the closure to vespera’s story in our frontier lore archive.

Back at it with the titular characters question, i was mostly confused if it meant that we can't pick up a protag from let's say two different fire emblem games since they can technically be different in personality? sorry if this is a really dumb question!

hellooo, resident fire emblem fan of the mod team here. in our patch notes we used fire emblem as an example, actually! series limits only apply for linked parts of franchises, that are in the same universe. for example, you can absolutely play ike, a titular character from the tellius games, and also chrom, from the awakening game. this is because the tellius and archanea games are, while both fire emblem, completely disconnected from each other.

however, if by ‘different in personality’ you mean, for example, playing both corrin (f) and corrin (m), we cannot allow this! fates is a singular universe, and while we will allow two in the group at a time, we would like you to allow someone else to play the other counterpart in the interest of fairness! we hope this makes sense! thank you for asking!

i dont think i saw it mentioned in the new big update and i dont see it on the rules, but is it still against the rules to have two titular characters from the same series even if they're not in the same game or technically even the same timeline?

Hi Anon! You’re right it wasn’t retconned in the new update as it was not mentioned in our open forum discussion before our big update took place, so to answer your question - No, we are still not accepting two titular characters from the same series from the same mun. We believe this can leave others at a disadvantage who would also wish to try a titular character out from the series giving everyone an equal opportunity to rp a character they like, a good example of this is we do not allow someone to app both Captain America from Marvel Comics and Captain America from the Marvel Cinematic Universe - Even if timelines are different, the muse remains the same.

im just curious but is there a list of all members current rank levels?

hi!! i’m afraid that we haven’t made any sort of document along those lines, as we trust our members to keep track of their own ranks. 

if you’d like to see a fellow member’s rank, you can click their user in the server and their roles will pop up! we hope that helps!

it feels like there is no room to breath between big events like the fire and the three murders this month, even just trying to let it sink in seems to be a challenge because things get swept over so easily that it makes the deaths seem utterly meaningless as well as the attackers being forgiven and forgotten way too easily. can it be a rule that people talk to mods before a murder or death happens? maybe even post a run down on how deaths should be handled since a gm has to revive people?

after reading over your ask and reviewing the events that have happened in vespera, we definitely understand where you’re coming from. the mods absolutely do agree with the idea of letting us know before something big happens in the frontier, just so that we can be prepared for it and deem whether or not it’s alright to carry out. 

in fact, we’re going to be updating the rules soon to encompass this, so fret not! we feel that it’s about time to renovate them so that they better display what vespera is like as a group, so keep an eye out for a future announcement that talks about the Rehaul™!

would it be possible to keep @ everyone for important updates only rather than letting everyone do it? ): every time it happens i think something really important or bad happened

 after discussing this amongst ourselves, we as mods have concluded this: 

- the @ everyone function is only to be used by mods for things such as rule changes, event notices, and other important content! the memberbase is not allowed to use it. - however, members are allowed to use the @ here function for their own needs, such as game calls and calling attention to ic content / misc things. we ask that you do not use this excessively though, as it would dilute the potency of the notification, thus nullifying its purpose. 

 these decisions have been made in order to reduce spam and make vespera as understandable as possible! thank you for bringing it to our attention.
