hc bob proposed. like i think that's implied to be canon but my hcs are that he agonized over making sure they had a "perfect" date. every little thing that could go wrong kept him up at night. took him ages between deciding "i want to propose" to actually get to the proposing part.

i always imagine it being on a cliffside at sunset in the gulch with a bunch of beautiful flowers (which bob put there), a nice picnic, 💖atmosphere✨

several things did go "wrong" but helmut thought the whole production and subsequent proposal was very sweet and cute

...and he had caught on to what bob was doing about halfway through anyways but was not acknowledging it so as to let bob have his moment.

Thinking about how in Psychonauts 2 when Helmut's in Gristol's body and he says it "wouldn't be right" to kiss Bob because the body belongs to someone else, as if he didn't LICK A DUSTY OLD COUCH THAT LIKELY HASN'T BEEN CLEANED IN AGES NOT EVEN A MINUTE AFTER WAKING UP IN HIS NEW BODY.
