I’ve just spent so long going through the sj side of tumblr and the idiocy of some people has really started to grate on my nerves

I mean, social justice itself and the idea of privilege are very important things to consider, but the ridiculousness and sometimes downright racist arguments that some people use puts so many (me included) off it completely. Everyone seems to apply the American social structure to countries that aren’t anything like there, and people who get called out for their crap just reply with a stupid graphic or rude slur. It just turns people against the movement. And anyway, you can’t ‘add up’ the amount of privilege that you have, i mean what even?!

oh god sorry for the rant i’ve been needing to say this for a while I’m so glad I’m not alone in thinking this
