Well, everyone! The demo for Chapter I: Framework is complete!

Last night I had finished everything up, and my heart hasn’t stopped pounding excitedly since! I have lovely lovely test subjects in the Pupa Project discord who were kind enough to volunteer to play test the demo! And as we all play through it together over and over to find inconsistencies or bugs to catch, we get closer to it being released to the rest of the world! I am very grateful for the friends and members of Pupacord who are giving me feedback for stuff to tweak and their reactions to things! It’s very very heartwarming and exhilarating!!

The demo will hopefully be released this week! And I am so excited for you all to finally meet Blythe (and co) properly! 🦋

Thank you all for your continued support and your encouragement! It truly means the world! I feel like I say that a lot… but it’s true!!

Hola! Como dije en mi anterior post comence un nuevo proyecto llamado You Are My Favorite Film; en este post dare toda la información sobre el proyecto. 

¿Qué es You Are My Favortite Film? 

You Are My Favorite Film (YAMFF) es una novela visual de terror psicológico y romance, el juego pretende ser corto y autoconclusivo. Aquí el interés amoroso/acosador/yandere es Sektral (compañero de la facultad/universidad del Jugador/MC). 

Sinopsis de YAMFF:

" Para un trabajo de la universidad debes formar equipo con uno de tus compañeros, pero como todos ya tienen a sus grupos formados, no te queda otra opción que hacer grupo con el que todos consideran “raro”, empezando a experimentar cosas extrañas a medida de que el proyecto avanza ".

Clasificación:

+16 [semi-NSFW] 

ADVERTENCIAS:

Violencia/gore, temas sensibles, ruidos fuertes y posibles screamers.

Tengo planeado que el juego tenga entre 3 y 4 finales, nada complicado (espero).

-Es un cinéfilo, entusiasta de las películas slashers o de horror antiguas 

-Trabaja como cajero en un supermercado

-suele ser algo reservado con la gente

-Hace películas snuff como hobbie y para ganar dinero extra

-Èl y su historia están basados en las creepypastas “querida Abby” y “El porque me volví ateo” (recomiendo escucharlas) 

-Está obsesionado con MC desde que le atendió en su trabajo (Mc no se acuerda de eso). 

¿En donde se va a subir el juego? 

El juego, como casi todas las novelas visuales se subira a itch.io (si no se me complica) y sera completamente gratis.

Como seguramente no estare publicando cosas muy seguido, estare editando este post, específicamente el apartado de "etapa del juego" para que puedan guiarse de como va el juego según lo que yo vaya poniendo allí.

Visual novel update!!! For Tate VN

I'm now working on Bjorn's model and some other animations

During my lunch break I wanted to make a placeholder for the title screen

I really like the layout but I might change his pose some other time.

Not much is going on other than making base models

Tomorrow the updates will be as short as this since I have work, but I hope you guys will stay tuned for the rest.

So I've been eyeing one route in the demo that seems pretty short... The flying scene. So I've been working on extending that route a little bit for the full game. I won't be updating the demo because I keep changing things and I want to focus on​ the full game instead of constantly updating the demo ^^; But as a gift, I wanted to share one scene from the extended route that I really like!

This one makes my eyes go big :) I'm proud of it. I try to keep my backgrounds simple and easy for myself to churn out since there's so many scenes and situations I have to illustrate. I think I get the idea across enough, without too much detail. That way, when the mood calls for it I can get *very* detailed >:)

Here's another one from the same scene! Handddsss... These hands gave me a lot of trouble for some reason haha! But I got there eventually.

RTE VN Update: ALMOST THERE!!

TLDR: The game build now has all of its files BOOYAH

So since GameJolt gets separate devlogs almost every day, I'll compile a few here:

First off, the game build has all of its files and now its final size stands at a whopping 762 MB! It may be on the hefty side for the browser build of a visual novel, but it will be available as it falls under the 1GB limit! I would highly recommend playing the game on a Chrome Browser, but the analytics show me that the demo has been run on mobile browsers, so I will investigate that as well.

I would like to both thank and apologize to those on here who have played the demo in an effort to help my pre-emptive case to the GJ support staff about not letting the build limit put a cap on the game's quality. As the final game build is well under a gigabyte, the case itself was rendered moot and should not have been made before the game had all of its files.

That being said, I do have some good news: through file compression and slight rewriting of the code, the full game has the demo's quality along with everything I originally intended for the game to have (these were the main things that I guessed would break the 1GB limit and would have to exclude)! That means you'll get all of the planned CGs, all of the secret scenes and characters, all of the planned soundtrack and all of the bonus art and goodies in the full release!

Speaking of the release, I will announce the date later on so keep an eye out! Link to game page below:
