Voldor’s Storm

A birthday present for one of my players in the Magic the Gathering planeswalker campaign (January 2022). This year I'll be doing signature spells (like all the planeswalkers had in War of the Spark), and first up is this one! Voldor is a cleric/sorcerer, so the Lightning Helix style damage + lifegain thing I had already established last time. But since he's a Storm Sorcerer, a storm (as the MTG mechanic) payoff would fit great as well, right? Also, I had a lot of fun painting them clouds

Voldor, Unwillingly Chosen

During their adventures on Innistrad, one of the PCs in our MTG planeswalker campaign perished! Brogmir died at the hands of a lieutenant of Ormendahl. The player's new character is a nyxborn storm sorcerer/tempest cleric from Theros, "blessed and chosen" by Keranos. As for card mechanics, a cleric-sorcerer with a focus on lightning seemed perfect for things similar to Lightning Helix. The +1 loyalty ability is quite generic, but would be able to give some card draw in a red-white burn deck, where you would play a card like this.
