After a life-saving mind meld with Spock, Captain Kirk begins to experience vivid dreams of ancient Vulcan, a time of warring clans and primal bonds.
In these dreams, a prince bearing Spock's likeness claims they are destined mates, leaving Kirk haunted by how real everything feels.
When Kirk shares this with Spock, he is told that Vulcans do not dream, deepening the mystery.
Unbeknownst to Spock, Kirk is connecting with a remnant of his subconscious left behind from the meld.
As the dreams grow more intense, Kirk finds himself grappling with his own emotions, toward both his trusted first officer and the mysterious Vulcan prince in his dreams.
