Teacher/Student AU
Hoerwick is a college professor who teaches beginning to intermediate computer science and math classes. He's entirely qualified to teach much more advanced classes but prefers the bright-eyed younger students who are expecting his class to be boring but come out with a greater appreciation of the subject.
Of course, he's also aware that his classes' popularity is not only because of his teaching style. He's popular among male and female students and has to turn down a lot of....propositions.
Burlesque Dancer AU (goddammit perpa I fucking almost sent you this one too)
One of the perks of being a rare male burlesque dancer is that you're a little more exotic, and thus a little better paid. At least this is Hoerwick's experience, which is one of the only things that keeps him dancing. He dances closer to a traditional burlesque dance--in his opinion some male dancers who call themselves burlesque are nothing more than slightly classier chippendales--which is mostly a lot of prancing around in really high-heels and hip movement.
He barely strips in his routines; he'll show all of his legs but as far as above the belt goes, he rarely shows more than a bit of midriff. Whether his costume is more dapper or girly depends on the showrunners.
He also keeps a haughty and slightly-cold demeanor during his performances, which has earned him the nickname Ice Prince(ss). He's not interested in being friendly toward the customers, and they seem to like his attitude well-enough, so all the better for him.
Killer AU (why)
He didn't mean to do it. It was self-defense gone too far. He's always had trouble fitting in because of his earlier homeschooling, and while girls just treat him as the mysterious gloomy transfer, the boys are absolutely relentless. It was their own fault. One of the boys pulled a knife, intending to carve him up somehow, and the next thing he knew there was blood and screaming and the knife was in the boy's throat. He was rushed to the hospital but died there. And the boys weren't blameless and were known troublemakers, so they couldn't speak to the authorities even if they wanted to, so it was ruled a bizarre accident.
And it was ruled a bizarre accident when the rest of the boys mysteriously went disappearing as well. Nobody misses a bully.
Cheesy Sci-Fi Film AU
To absolutely nobody's surprise, Hoerwick is the hacker expert who can hack everything from Google to the Pentagon to satellites. He's something of a basement dweller who doesn't love the light or outdoors and goes under an alias on the internet so that he's famous but hard to find. He's cracked so many conspiracy theories that it doesn't surprise him at all to hear that the government is hiding aliens and that he's needed to swipe their info on it and break them into the holding facility.
He's dragged out in a super-high-tech van outfitted with absolutely everything so he can actually work on site (security isn't connected to the internet after all) and gets abducted the second the aliens notice the group b/c hey, he's just the tech guy. He wasn't prepared for action.
