darlin’ don’t be throwin’ shade now
woah tilly's actually thinking
okay so something just occured to me ... sheltered Warriors characters make like 0 sense. unlike in human society, knowing about sex and birth and health is literally fucking crucial. if a cat's parent tried to dissuade their mentor from giving them sex ed two things would happen; a) they'd be regarded as completely irresponsible. b) the apprentice would learn it anyway, either from their mentor or experimental peers. so like. i can understand a young cat not quite understanding these concepts until they see it or try it or reach mental maturity, but they would know about it. in a Clan setting, where death looms and low population is a death sentence, every single cat in the Clan would know about sex, birth, health, anatomy, etc., regardless of what their idiot parents tried to keep from them.
Larkstar (right) and Foxtuft (left) of needleclan! Time to finally show you guys some real art!
I’m going to design leaders and deputies for all the clans now and show you guys as I finish them. The med cats/ med cat apprentices will be designd later on.
So design-wise I wanted mrs Larkstar to resemble both an actual lark and a fawn, that’s where I got colours and general patterns from. She has a torn up ear which makes hearing a bit more difficult for her, that’s partially an homage to snowkit. She is able to hear others but it isn’t very easy when people don’t acknowledge her disability and adjust a bit, but her clanmates are happy to accommodate. Needleclan is fierce and Larkstar is ruthless when it comes to defending their home, but she is never outwardly vicious.
Her loyal deputy is Foxtuft here, I have a habit of designing miniature foxes instead of cats sometimes so I used a cat breed as a general reference. I just searched up fox-like cat so idk the name of the breed tho. He is a flexible bugger that the apprentices say can beat a squirrel in a race up a tree! Also I decided he is very pansexual.

The Quiet North - map and clan deep-dive
So here’s that map which took me way to long to draw! In my opinion warriors shouldn’t be assumed to be set in our world but for comparison I guess you could say they live in the northern Canadian boreal forest. That is where I’ll be drawing the geographical and biological inspiration from at least. Keep in mind these groups are multiple generations away from the original clans and all those years were spent travelling farther and farther for territory.
I noticed the items on the map aren’t very well scaled far too late in the project so sorry if it is a bit confusing. The map shows the most important stuff but really the forest goes on much farther south and the open hills go on a bit farther past the edge of this map. I also imagine as the groups grow they would look for more territory if they need it. For right now there are about 10-20 cats per clan so what’s shown on the map is just fine for them.
Finally let’s talk about the clans themselves! Keep in mind these cats have built their names and culture off of clan traditions past down by word of mouth so I find it excusable that I took some liberties with the names. Eagleclan are descendants of riverclan who were happy to find a calm outcrop next to a river after travelling a nerrow path along a ravine through the mountains. They prey on fish using special techniques they developed as they travelled further north. They sleep in burrows dug into the dirt outcrop during the warm season, they stay very warm in there. Needleclan are descendants of primarily skyclan and shadowclan cats who found a home in the dangerous but sheltered pine forest. They mostly prey on birds and tree-dwelling rodents. They use bushes as hidden dens in a clearing. Finally Stormclan are split descendants of windclan and shadowclan. They are the least unified and organized group but the harsh conditions might just pull them closer in more ways then one. Stormclan has found a wonderful camp in a network of nerrow caves in the stone, these dens aren’t perfect at keeping out the draft but warm books to build a nest are easy to find. They prey on hares primarily, they hunt/eat whatever they can find.
The Quiet North - Intro
In a world where starclan was divided and scattered, the five clans must split up to track down the remaining portals to starclan. Over time the five clans split into smaller and smaller groups which started making their own names and keeping starclan blessed territories to themselves. Few believe the original five still exist anywhere anymore.
Past the mountains, across freezing rivers, through dangerous ravines, lays a single ancient cedar tree. Under the roots and below the jutting rocks there is a smooth, bowl shaped rock. If slept within it’s rocky grasp cats will find a powerful connection to their ancestors. The only problem is this magical ground is in the midst of a freezing land. Rocky hills, deadly cold rivers and creeks, and predators more dangerous then anything any of the old clans have ever seen guard this place. But three small groups have all been drawn to this place, all with different skills and origins. Still they are all seeking the frozen heart that makes this land worth the terrible danger.
Welcome to The Quiet North blog <3 I’m working hard to get this idea off the ground so if you like what you see please like and follow!
Warriors Inktober 4
For the very open ended “warrior” theme I drew good ol mister lionheart. This is depicting the scene in into the wild where bluestar, lionheart, graypaw and whitestorm(?) ask rusty to join thunderclan. I don’t have too many thoughts, he’s just a good boi.
