Fandom Etiquette 101

If you don't like a fic, don't read it. Don't hate read it, don't bookmark it to write hateful comment in the bookmark description, don't leave hateful comments, don't post hateful reviews online (tiktok, goodread*, tumblr...), don't bully the author, don't go ruin someone else's experience, don't hate people that like that fic...

Just leave the fic, and if you don't like the author's work in general, you can mute the author so as to not have them anymore in your research result on AO3, you can also use the filter on Ao3 to set what you want and do not want to read. If you hate a fic because it has Jegulus and PandaLily instead of Jily, BakuDeku instead of IzuOcha, Wenclair instead of Wyler, or whatever are the ships you hate for your OTP, then filter out the ship!

Because you are not entitled to anything from the author. They write because they like it, they write because it's a hobby, because it's bring them joy, because it's cathartic. They don't gain anything by writing. They don't gain money, authors that are "famous" are a very small minority. And just because they are well known, doesn't make you entitled to anything. They are still human. Think Zar, Crimson Rivers author. They were gone for so long atp because of the pressure.

We write because we want to. Not because we HAVE to. fanfictions are not professional books, most of them are not even edited by the author, less are beta-ed by someone else. By being hateful and having high expectancy, by demanding high quality texts, you are driving away people that find true joy by sharing writings that can be really personal. Writings that they are sharing because they want to.

A fic that you hate is someone else's favourite fic that they read every night before going to sleep. And the contrary exist.

Little update: my bad for not posting as of yet this month. I made a little promise to myself to at least post two chapters a month but it’s late April and no chapter yet. The next chapter is done, probably have to check the grammar and proofread it, but I like having another chapter ready so I’m not just posting the moment I finish writing a chapter. And well, I’m working on chap. 69 and woah, season four is so confusing to keep up with. There’s so many flashbacks and they’re not all in order considering we have Armin’s telling, Mikasa’s telling, and Eren’s side which no one knows about, and also Y/n’s side. I want to make sure there’s no plot holes and that I’m getting all the info right. Plus, I am writing the flashbacks in a different order from when they are (from when they are being recalled).

I knew this season would be hard, but damn, I keep going onto Reddit to find explanations and timelines. Did you know Eren was in jail for month? And I think Gabi and Falco too…Idk that’s what Reddit is telling me. I had to make my own timeline too because omg…THE AMOUNT of flashbacks I have to include, and not just the cannon ones…

Anyways, I hope to have chapter 68 up before this month ends.

Little life update: I had a major busy weekend. I met Bryce Papenbrook, Eren’s English VA. Jessie James Grelle, Armin’s English VA. Griffin Burns, Colt’s English VA. AND Romy Park, Hange’s Japanese VA!!!!! All of these people were so sweet and kind. Especially Papenbrook! I also went to the AOT (i think it’s called) Beyond the Walls, Orchestra concert! I’m definitely fueled up to write aot content.

For my absence I have this. Gabi having a nightmare/ dream where she is going to defeat the evils of the Jaeger twins and avenge Falco who has been turned into a shifter by the devils of Paradis. What can be taken from this is that Y/n has a messy appearance going forth season four. (She has no strict description in the fic, ofc.)
