Wave Ocean Environment Study
Sonic 06 - Wave Ocean ~The Water's Edge~

Those of you who follow the Sonic fangame community at any distance are no doubt aware of the fascination of remaking or “fixing” Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. There have been several attempts over the years, but the two most popular ones currently are the Unity remake by Gistix, and one running parallel to it, known simply as P06, headed by ChaosX. Among several fixes, tweaks and quality of life improvements, P06 makes one super cool, super impressive addition: implemented a fully finished and functional Rainbow Gem.
For those of who you don’t know: in Sonic 2006, you were at some point supposed to be able to buy a Rainbow Gem from the shop. This Gem would allow you to transform into Super Sonic. However, this, like many things in the game, was never finished or implemented.
There have been several modders who threw their hat into the ring over the years, adding the Super Sonic from the Solaris boss, to adding the Rainbow Gem to Sonic’s arsenal. However, since the Gem was never finished, the animation that would play for Sonic’s transformation is about all you’ll get, and since Super Sonic wasn’t meant to be used outside of the Solaris boss, it breaks the game in a lot of ways.
But this is a remake, new code, new everything. Super Sonic is fully playable here, and it’s kind of awesome. I have a video on that, if you’re interested:
Say what you want about the game, but boy did it have a good soundtrack! Art by: https://twitter.com/_JuniiBug
TITLE: Wave Ocean (White Space)
ARTIST: S0LV0 ft. Joshua Taipale
We really need more Wave Ocean remixes. There is not a lot to choose from, but there is this piece done by two of the community’s greatest!
“BUT WAIT!” I hear you all cry. “Don’t you all ready have a White Space remix of Wave Ocean in your archives?” Yes! But that was done by a different artist, and it was a remix of “The Water’s Edge”. THIS REMIX, however, is a remix of the more definitive Wave Ocean theme, “The Inlet”. Other then that, it’s about what you expect. Acoustic rock with a wind instrument to create a calming feel. The only thing that kept this from becoming part of our Recommended Listening is the fact that it’s short and loopable.

Just thought you’d like some beautiful imagery.
