Her finger prodded his chest, angry and frustrated with him. She'd heard all about what had happened - learning the truth from EVERYONE involved as everyone seemed to leave some part of the story out, from Di to her ex. But he had taken her child and for whatever reason and however much Di thought he was now 'interesting' and 'funny', Marlene wasn't ready for forgiveness. She could hold a grudge. But she was starting to accept it wasn't going to happen again and if anyone knew about curses it was this family and--

"Wanda is being polite by not frying your ass, Jack. What are you doing anyways? I thought you were off travelling Europe - Elsa sent a postcard. She didn't enjoy the new look."

Elsa was also a rogue one, but Marlene found her funny enough. Good company, good stories. And though she was a hunter and as involved in the darker side as Moon Knight (or Mr. Knight if she had to say it) nothing really came after her when Marlene was around. "If anyone's causing issues it's YOU. ....But Di also drew a picture of you the other day and as much as I want to show you that I can kick your ass, I told her I'd give it to you."

But before she could take the picture out her pocket, she reached over and punched him (HARD) to the top of his arm. That proper sweet spot where deadness would roam. "Stay away from Wanda. And no talking to my kid without me there."

Sweaty, bruised, grimy - basically a hot mess.

She tended to escape fights relatively unscathed due to her powers, and she was aware that was a blessing. Kate still worked up a sweat even when intangible, going in and out of her phased form took more effort the longer the battle went (or rather it took more effort to become TANGIBLE once again).

This time, they’d been caught off guard and there’d been more of a tussle than normal. Nothing their elite team couldn’t handle. You don’t mess with the Maruaders. People quickly learnt that.

Kate scoffed at his words, a grin on her face. She was tired and sore but they were all in one piece. And nothing could stop St John in his tracks for long - and plenty had tried.

“Wrong. I have an incredibly awesome, totally cool personality. It matches my amazing looks.”

She leaned over to punch him playfully, but it ended up more of a nudge. “Too bad I can’t say EITHER about you, huh?”

"At least people know who I am." This was an excellent way for them to start. Especially if Katherine was going to ask them to work together. But he knew the idiot had a point. Pietro wasn't welcomed, and he was a pariah on the island. And that was why he insisted that his relationship with Katherine was a secret.

But he couldn't help but smirk at him when he mentioned his captain. So the secret dating thing wasn't the worst thing if he could have moments like this. He also knew that it would annoy the flamehead so much to know that Pietro was also going to talk to the Captain. And that he was tagging along for a few missions. Poor Pyro.

"You know what, we can even walk there together. As it so happens, I am also going to see Katherine. It seems like her crew was a little lacking and needed some help," he said, moving in front of Pyro as he started to walk backward so that the other mutant could see the shit-eating grin that Pietro had.
