So, after researching the hot summer of 1899, I decided to look around if I could find anything about the…2nd November 1945.
Now, the problem I encountered is that we do not know where exactly the duel took place. There’s no evidence, no hint even that it even took place in the UK. :/ So I shrugged and went with…London. Because the weather data for London for the 2nd November 1945 was actually pretty easy to find.
Ahem; so the 2nd November 1945 was actually a very warm day. Temperatures were between 17.2 °C and 8.9°C, which sounds warm for a November day. There was very little rain and just about a centimeter of snow. In fact, 1945 had the driest November in record (only 3mm precip. in central London).
There was also, from what I understand, a harsh drop in temperatures from the 2nd November to the 3rd November (from highest 17.2 °C to only 6.1 °C), so if you want to have your duel take place in the late evening/night, maybe incorporate that harsh drop in temperature. No snow/rain on either day, though, so no duel in the snow.
