Hypothetical scenario: You're attending a wedding, and at the reception it turns out that no alcohol is being served. You know that the couple getting married don't drink alcohol often, but also that they don't struggle with addiction. You don't know anything about the drinking habits or restrictions of anyone else in attendance.

Would you be surprised and/or disappointed if you attended a wedding and there was no alcohol being served?

A keepsake I made a few years ago for a friend. A textile book from pieces of her mother's wedding gown. Lots of embroidery, crochet, weaving. Hoping to make something that holds her memories close.

(I may have posted this before, I'm not sure. But it's on my mind at the moment, as I'm thinking about a workshop around some of these ideas.)

Many years ago I accidentally ordered a small cut of dark navy silk taffeta thinking it was black, and I don't much like wearing solid navy so it sat in my stash for over a decade, but then!! Earlier this year I helped a friend get the pattern of her wedding bodice to fit, and also gave her a bunch of stash fabric, and she used the blue silk for the bodice! And some other silk I gave her for one of the petticoats! The wedding was today and the dress was sooo beautiful, all sparkly and dark blue with lots of beading. Best thing that could ever happen to an old bit of stash fabric that I had no plans for!!
