Wednesday and Tyler Hospital Scene Analysis

I was intrigued by this scene at the hospital because it kept subverting my expectations, and that really added this element of dark humor but also pathos to the scene.

Other people have already pointed out the little details about Tyler’s…gifts that show the sheer amount of thought, effort, and planning put into them, like how he gives her an entire bouquet of dead roses (which meant he probably stole them and waited for them to die before giving them to her) and wrapped the stems in black and white tissue paper ahead of time so she can safely hold them with her allergy. He also hand wrote her a card to accompany the roses. Normally, such a sweet, thoughtful gesture would be heartwarming, but it’s chilling because the card has a death threat written in it, the roses are dead even if she prefers them that way, and we know he’s obsessed with her and can turn into an angry, violent monster at will.

And yet the sheer amount of thought and effort he put into the gifts is so over the top that it crosses the line twice and comes back around to being darkly humorous and almost sweet, in a twisted, macabre way. Yes, he's going out of his mind and is acting really creepy and claims he wants her dead, but he didn't have to be so extra about it. A death threat scrawled on a piece of paper would’ve sufficed. Killing her in the hospital while she was still in a coma and no one else was watching would’ve been possible if that was all he cared about. Instead, he’s telling on himself big time with these grand gestures. I’m sure part of it is because he wanted to toy with her, but at the same time, his real feelings are leaking out of the deranged Hyde persona, and he can't stop it from happening.

It's almost embarrassing how clearly he’s still into her and obsessed with her, as dark and twisted as his expressions of those feelings may be. And I think Tyler’s humanity is leaking through here too, because flowers and a card almost feel like they started out as apology gifts for hurting her and landing her in the hospital in the first place. And from anyone else they might be, but of course everything gets so warped and twisted by his Hyde that the card has a death threat instead of an apology and the dead flowers really add to the ominousness of his words.

Of course, Wednesday immediately knows something is up. Only Tyler would know to do all these things—the dead roses, the black and white tissue paper, the death threats painstakingly handwritten in a card she can safely handle (why care at all about the allergies of someone you truly want dead?) He knows how much she cares about Enid, and he knows exactly how to get under her skin and get her attention—by threatening Enid. He’s her enemy, yes, but he knows her, and moments like this make it clear.

She asks the candy striper who gave her these “gifts,” and then there’s this reveal that not only did Tyler ask for these to be delivered to her, he's close by because he wanted to see her, too. It would've been way less risky if he hadn't stuck around to watch her reaction, but he did, and he even gives her a little wave:

One wonders just how long he's been skulking around the hospital waiting for her to wake up. The sheer amount of risks he took to be here, the lengths he went to to avoid detection when he only recently escaped Willow Hill and is wanted by the police—it really says everything about just how badly he wanted to see her. For this moment to happen, he had to sneak into the hospital somehow, steal and don the scrubs disguise, and avoid being recognized by anyone, even though this is clearly a busy hospital. He was also apparently around long enough to see Agnes visit at least once, because he knows she’s one of Wednesday’s friends in Episode 6.

He plays the role of full on psychotic villain when he knows he has her full attention. Just look at his smirk when he knows she's looking at him:

A chase/round of Hyde and woe seek ensues, but he manages to shake her. And this is where the pathos of the scene really hit me, and it’s all because of Tyler’s reaction once he’s alone:

A “regular” monster and clear-cut, unsympathetic villain would have smirked and gloated over getting away and successfully toying with his target. I think I even expected something along those lines, especially after his smirk earlier. Instead, Tyler practically has a breakdown and has to brace himself against the vending machine for support, and this moment hit me so hard. Props to Angela Robinson (the director of this episode), Erika Vásquez and Sienna Butterfield (the writers of this episode) and of course Hunter Doohan for his marvelous job of portraying Tyler’s emotions here, because it’s exactly thanks to moments like these that Tyler is such an interesting, nuanced character.

I’m sure part of his reaction is because he's sick and in pain and dying without a master, and this clearly shows that. He also just had to race through the hospital halls to avoid Wednesday and needs a moment to catch his breath. But I think he’s also experiencing a powerful wave of emotions—relief that Wednesday is okay and awake and alive, especially because he's the one who landed her in the hospital in the first place, regret that he had to run away from her when deep down he wants her to catch him, and anguish and disappointment over being separated from her again. Look at the way he squeezes his eyes shut, which is Tyler’s way of indicating the pain he’s feeling is unbearable, as he also squeezes his eyes shut like this when he asks Wednesday to kill him in Episode 8 and is bracing himself for her blow.

He also swallows here, like he’s choking back tears and is desperately trying to get ahold of himself. Beneath the monster and the villain is a very vulnerable young man who shows his real emotions when he thinks no one’s watching. It’s his humanity peeking through all over again, and I love that they included it because it adds so much to what came before and casts everything in a new light.

4 Reasons Why This Photo Makes Me Insane

As promised in my S2 Part 2 theories post from a few days ago, here’s a post where I yell about all the reasons why this S2P2 still that got released makes me absolutely FERAL!!!

1. The Lighting

In a TUDUM article that came out before S1 dropped that gave details about all the major players in Wednesday, Tyler’s section called Wednesday his “light” in the darkness that was his life. S2 sees Tyler at the darkest he’s ever been, and we’ve been warned that at least at the beginning of Part 2, we will be seeing Tyler in probably the DARKEST of dark places. But then in this still, we have BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT just BEAMING down onto Wednesday as she looks into Tyler’s Hyde’s face, proving that she STILL is his light and will undoubtedly be the only person who can reach him and pull him out of this darkness.

2. The Blocking

The most obvious thing to note about the blocking of this scene is that it’s a direct parallel to the end of episode 4 where Tyler and Wednesday come face-to-face in the Willow Hill hallway just after he kills Laurel. But where we saw that confrontation end in injury and chaos, we will (hopefully) see this one end in peace as Wednesday has either (presumably) became Tyler’s master OR injected him with something to help him gain control of himself back.

But the LESS obvious and far MORE curious parallel is that this scene is blocked similarly to certain other Weyler scenes that I’m sure we’re all very familiar with…

In both of these instances, Wednesday and Tyler were on the precipice of taking their relationship to the next level, so it’s VERY interesting to me that the blocking in this new still with Wednesday and Hyde!Tyler are soooo similar, even down to…

3. Wednesday’s Facial Expression

Even though I know we don’t see her whole facial expression clearly from the still and that the lighting is a wee bit harsh, which does distort some things, I feel like it’s not really a stretch to say that these look nearly identical when you put them side by side.

Even WITH the harsh blue lighting, it looks like her eyes are shining similarly to how they were when she was about to kiss Tyler, full of vulnerability and emotion. Hell, nearly EVERYTHING about her expression looks just about the same, except her head’s tilted at a steeper angle because, well, Hyde is much taller than Tyler.

Am I suggesting that she’s about to kiss the Hyde? No (although it’s not an outlandish thing for an Addams to do). But I AM suggesting that this moment is very similar to their kiss. It’s reading like a new, vulnerable step in their relationship that Wednesday’s on the precipice of taking. Is it trusting Tyler not to hurt her again? Is it that she’s putting her pride aside to help the boy she fell for? Or is she fully committing herself to him there and now as his master, one that won’t hurt and manipulate him, one that actually cares for him?

4. The Potential Symbolism

If this scene IS Wednesday stepping into the role of Tyler’s master as a way to save his life, the SYMBOLISM in this scene goes CRAZY. This girl is standing face to face with the boy we know she cares for, in what appears in the trailer to be an abandoned church, in front of all her friends (who we know are there if this is in fact the end result of the scene where they’ve got Tyler surrounded and Wednesday’s about to inject him with something), and is SUPERNATURALLY SWEARING HERSELF TO HIM!! If that is actually what’s happening here, we’re basically witnessing a Weyler marriage.

Like holy foreshadowing, Batman! If that’s what’s going on, Tyler Addams is practically a given.

What bothers me the most about all the retcons in "Wednesday" S2 is how the writers didn't even try to justify them, and instead, they just went on gaslighting the viewers. I'm sorry, but some people (=me) have watched S1 multiple times. We still remember some details, such as Marilyn Thornhill's actual name, Laurel Gates. Making the characters acknowledge her only as Marilyn or Thornhill, while never once mentioning Laurel or any of the Gates family, wouldn't make us forget these facts. As if that's not annoying enough, the creators and cast members are made to do the same during promotional interviews.

The lack of trying is killing me, lol. For instance, in S1, a "Francoise Sylvanne Galpin" triggered her Hyde following her post-partum depression. This was in her medical files, which Tyler read. Somehow, in S2, a "Francoise Night" triggered her Hyde at a very young age after she got physically abused by her father. For me, this is one retcon that could have been easily explained. Tyler was there, listening to Isaac talking about Francoise's first time Hyding out. He could have just asked, "Wait, Mom! I thought your Hyde only surfaced after you gave birth to me?" or something. And Francoise would have been, like, "Yeah, so. I lied to your father." And Tyler could have been, like, "Wow. I've been blaming myself for triggering your Hyde and causing your death, but turns out, it's all a lie. Thanks for the trauma, anyway, Mom!" But the writers gave us nothing. Couldn't even spare 15 seconds to address that. They just retconned it and wished we all would go along with it.

The worst thing is idk why they would do this. The only reason I can think of so far is that the Gates family was originally related to Xavier's, so with him gone, they had to erase the Gates' existence as well. Then, this one thing snowballed, forcing the writers to retcon other aspects in the show. This is just my speculation, of course, but I HATE that this has made me wish they had recast Xavier instead, because I can't stand him as a character, lol, sorry not sorry. But even if this speculation is true, I know that without recasting him, the writers could have come up with something better. They had, like, what? Two years to figure things out? But the best they could do is retcon? Really!? It pmo or whatever the youths say these days, lol.

Tyler's Hydisms

By the end of Season 2, Tyler confirms he has superhuman abilities that were triggered by his Hyde awakening by telling Isadora Capri that he can smell that she is a Werewolf.

We guessed he may have highterned senses since Season 1, when he addmitted to being able to taste fear in his victims, and due to him knowing where Agnis is in season 2 while she was invisable. While the full extent of his powers is still unknown, we do know he has an exceptional sense of smell. As an apex predator, it’s likely he also possessed heightened hearing and strength even in human form.

When you rewatch Seasons 1 closely after knowing Tyler has these abilities, you can see certain scenes where Tyler may have been using his Hyde powers right under our noses. In fact, hints of his abilities can be spotted as early as Episode 1. This post takes a closer look at those seemingly innocent Tyler moments that might have been fueled by his powers all along.

I call these effectionaly, Tyler's Hydisms.

Episode 1: Smelling out Wednesday's location when she goes missing.

Tyler was distracted, watching his father drive away after their argument, and by the time he turned back, Wednesday had gone.

We know she had noticed Weems keeping a close eye on her to make sure she didn’t run away, so headed to the nearest stall to win a teddy bear to act as her cover. See how the bumper cars are to her left and slightly forward?

In the top Tyler gif, you can see them way down on the right side as he's walking in. You can also see the wheel they were running towards at the end.

For Tyler to reach her, he’d have to walk into the fare, walk pass Weems and the food trucks, and track her down among the crowds of people.

Yet he ends up finding her rather easy - (He did come from behind — possibly a continuity error, though more likely just a staging choice as Xavier was also there.) - and at a fare this big. It’s unlikely Wednesday Addams would be trying to win a panda like a normal teen and the fare was just a cover for her to run away, so logic says Tyler might expect to find her near the entrance and not playing at a stall, yet he heads straight to her spot once inside.

He knew where she was all along. He used his nose to find her.

Episode 2: Tyler's sensative hearing being used to spy on convesations, and animalistic behavour.

Tyler’s superhearing might not be officially confirmed in canon just yet, but in Season 1 he uses it plenty of times. Most of the time, he’s eavesdropping around town for Thornhill, helping her keep her true identity and plan to resurrect Crackstone under wraps. What seems like an innocent moment where Tyler tries to start a conversation with his dad is acutally the start of Tyler’s scheme to frame somebody as the Hyde to cover his own tracks. It’s unclear whether Tyler overheard his father and Santiago talking at home, or somewhere in town after his therapy session earlier in the episode. Either way, learning that his dad and the Sherrif Station suspects a Nevermore student of being the monster gave Tyler exactly what he needed to start setting Xavier up.

Later in the same episode, Wednesday heads out into the woods to uncover proof of Rowen’s death at the hands of the monster. Sheriff Galpin and his dog Elvis are approaching near to Wednesday, but she is 'saved' by Tyler, who pulls her behind a tree to avoid the Sheriff seeing her.

The moment takes on a darker tone when it becomes clear Tyler was honest about stalking his dad, because he is.

He IS stalking him, to kill him if need be!

Wednesday actually saves Galpin's life, or at least him from coming to any harm. He is able to walk away while Tyler now has a witness in Wednesday, he's no longer able to act. Tyler’s real reason for being in the woods is to guard his cave. When the cave is later found, Thornhill burns it to destroy any evidence of the Hyde being kept there. Tyler is following his dad to make sure he doesnt get too close to his cave.

This scene does overlap with the Master Bond, in which Tyler has been ordered not to let the cave be found, though it’s also an instinctive Hyde behavior. The den is his home, filled with the bones of his beloved deers, that means Tyler likes to eat in there. He likely sleeps in there if he's out at night. It's full of claw marks, DNA. There's blood on the walls that Galpin could use to ID his own son. Tyler is fiercely protecting his cave in this scene, that's why he's stalking his dad for.

Sherrif Galpin doesn't know how lucky he is that Wednesday Addams was also out in the woods that day, because a Hyde was stalking him.

Episode 5: Earsdropping on his dad to make sure he hasn't been discovered.

In this scene, Sherrif Galpin is on the phone (Likely to Santiago again) about the cave, which since has been discovered. Thornhill may have set fire to everything, but they could be DNA still remaining. They have the Hyde claw that Wednesday give them and they are currently bagging anything they can use to identiy who the monster is. The full diologe is:

You make sure they search that cave for any sign of that creature. No stone unturned. They bag and tag everything, all right? And then follow up with the lab. I want the DNA results on that claw. We already got one kid in the ICU, a bunch of people in the morgue. I don’t want any more.

Tyler seems to be nervous, as a viewer, we are meant to think it's just his father shouting 'Son of a bitch' that makes him startle, his father was abusive to him in the original script before cuts were made. However when you know Tyler is the Hyde, this scene can be read in a different way. The sherrif department are crawling through every inch of the cave. His 'home' as been discovered and his DNA, including his blood, is up the walls. The fire may not have destoryed everything. This is further backed up a few moments later after Tyler and his father have their little argument about therapy, the sherrif gets a call.

[Galpin]"All right. Tape off the scene. I’ll be right there." [Tyler] "Dad. You okay? What’s going on?"

Its just poor Reggie - Who was likely killed by Tyler and Thornhill - but for a second you can see the panic in Tyler's eyes when he thinks they've found something in the cave. For this entire scene, Tyler had been listening into his father's conversation from across the Weathervane, moving closer on the pretense of cleaning up tables to get even closer, to listen to make sure he hadn't been discovered.

Episode 7: Tyler is once again earsdropping: Framing Xavier part 2.

Wednesday is convinced Xavier is the Hyde and Kinbott is his master. She's just talking normally, not paticularly loud and Tyler is behind the counter making coffee for her.

What Wednesday doesn't know is that Tyler is not only watching, but could have been listening in to her whole conversation. The coffee he made her was an excuse to come over for a closer look at the diary, and to confirm what Wednesday may or may not know about himself.

After the cave was discovered, I think Tyler got rather desprate to frame any Nevermore kid he could of being the Hyde. He already knew from listening in on his dad that the Sherrif Station believes it to be a Nevermore kid. Lucky for him, Wednesday just happened to name drop his least favourite Outcast.

Tyler now has to deal with Kinbott. Wednesday dropped her name too and I think Tyler always knew Kinbott was on to him, the recordings made by her about Tyler's sessions imply she was concerned about him. He know he has to kill her to stop her from talking about what she may think about him, because if she does, game over.

Now that Wednesday has mentioned her and Xavier together as Master and Hyde, Tyler knows he can frame Xavier and make it look like Xavier has killed his master.

It was a good day to have a shift in the Weathervane.

It all went down in a single day. Kinbott had an emergency appointment right after Wednesday left the Weathervane. This wasn’t part of her regular schedule, someone, and it’s pretty clear who, called needing immediate help. The person she was waiting for was most likely Tyler. Since it was an emergency, there probably wasn’t any record of his visit yet. That gave him the perfect chance to meet with Kinbott alone, kill her to protect himself, and set up Xavier, who Wednesday suspects is working with Kinbott.

And look who is right on time for his appointment! All he had to do was listen to make sure the building was empty. Tyler likely heard Wednesday and Kinbott's confrontation from down below in the street. He wouldn't have used the main enterance where he could have been seen. All he had to do was just wait for Wednesday to leave the building before he climbed up. Kinbott was just on the phone about Wednesday when she heard Tyler in the bathroom. Its likely Tyler could also have good climbing skills in his human form, if he were able to climb up two floors to enter the building through the same bathroom window Wednesday once excaped from. He couldn't have done it in his Hyde form as the Hyde is too large for the window.

This is also the episode where Tyler plants his evidence against Xavier in the painting shed once he's killed Kinbott. He comes to Nevermore’s grounds under the pretense of his date with Wednesday, which we know is also a way to get Wednesday out of her room for Thornhill to steal the diary.

Xavier ends up arrested, all thanks to Tyler. This is the Hyde’s vindictive nature in action behind the scenes. Cross a Hyde, and you’ll know it—they’re clever and artistic, but once wronged, they channel all that creativity into revenge. Tyler framed Xavier because he blamed him for being sent to boot camp. Sure, Tyler might have been the one who destroyed Xavier's painting in the first place, but to a Hyde, a small detail like that doesn't matter. Xavier wronged Tyler, so the Hyde focused entirely on framing Xavier for his crimes.

After this scene, Wednesday heads to the Weathervane to see Tyler, after Enid mentioned he was working the late shift. There’s a moment where Tyler’s Hyde slips. At first, he's very happy to see her. She throws a jab at Xavier's expense, and Tyler responds, he looks normal at first, but if you look at the second gif, you’ll notice something is really wrong with his expression.

Those eyes, they are popping. That smirk. It’s the same look we saw when Wednesday visited him in Willow Hill. Hunter is really good at shifting from sweet to unhinged in an instant, and it’s all there in Tyler’s face in that second gif.

That is the Hyde.

If you compare the gif to his Season 2 scenes in Willow Hill, you can see the eyes and smile have the same unhinged feel about them.

This is one of the rare times when the Hyde shows himself. The other time is the scene where Tyler and his dad are having a tense stand off and Tyler's eyes pop as if he were going to transform. That gif wasn't included in this post as it's already very well known.

The Hyde here is overjoyed and you can see it's not hiding from Wednesday. Hyde is slyly dancing right in front of Wednesday, dispite not being allowed to show himself. He has triumphed over Xavier, the one he’s long held a grudge against. Xavier has taken the blame for his murders, the heat - if there was any from Kinbott - has been lifted. Wednesday is here and to top off his best mood ever, she's also joining in with the Xavier Slander. A moment later they kiss.

Episode 8 isn’t part of this list because Tyler’s identity as the Hyde is already out in the open. In this episode, he doesn’t rely much on his abilities, and he got triggered by his trauma when Wednesday had him chained, later taunting her in the sheriff’s station. While the Hyde does make another appearance, it’s not exactly hidden. Tyler does mention that his victims’ fear tasted delicious to him, though he was fully in Hyde form during those moments, and this post is focusing more on the instances where Tyler, still in human form, uses his Hyde abilities.

The Stranger Things Season 5 Vol 2 and series finale was a massive, insulting slap in the face to anyone who actually understands the lore, and specifically, anyone who followed The First Shadow. While the mainstream hype machine and casual fans are blindly applauding the ending, the writers absolutely butchered one of the most tragic characters in modern television: Henry Creel.If you want to see how this type of story should have been written, look no further than Tyler Galpin in Wednesday.

A shocking number of viewers blindly label Tyler as "evil." He isn’t evil; he is a broken human being. The writers of Wednesday respected his complexity. They never excused his violent actions, but they constantly forced the audience to look at the root cause: Tyler is a victim whose psyche was shattered by severe family trauma and the forced activation of his Hyde nature.Henry Creel was exactly the same in The First Shadow. The play beautifully established that Henry was an inherently sensitive, deeply troubled little boy. He didn't invent the darkness. His mind was literally violated by a cosmic parasite - the Mind Flayer - and later systematically tortured by Dr. Brenner. But while Wednesday maintained Tyler's tragic duality, the Duffer brothers stripped Henry of his victim status in the finale. They chose the lazy way out, treating him as a cartoonish monster who wants to destroy the world just because "he was always bad."

The parallel between their abusers is undeniable. Marilyn Thornhill targeted Tyler because he was isolated and grieving his mother. She played the maternal figure, built trust, and then used chemical and psychological torture to break his will and enslave him.Henry’s torture was tenfold worse. He had the Mind Flayer poisoning his thoughts from childhood, ripping away his sanity. Then he got thrown into Hawkins Lab, where Brenner did exactly what Thornhill did—just with government funding. Brenner treated Henry (001) as a caged weapon, systematically isolated him from Patty Newby (the only person who ever truly loved and understood him), and experimented on him until his humanity was completely hollowed out.If we can collectively acknowledge that Tyler was a slave to his manipulator, why did Stranger Things act like Henry was operating on pure, unprovoked malice?

The ultimate proof of the quality gap between these two shows lies in a brilliant visual metaphor from their respective climaxes.Look at Wednesday Addams. When she stands before Tyler in his chained, she has the weapon to destroy him. But she doesn't execute him. She cuts his chains. This single motion is deeply symbolic. It acknowledges his victimhood. It shows empathy. By severing the chains, the writers give a broken character a chance at a narrative truth, rather than a cheap execution.Now look at Joyce Byers in the Stranger Things finale. She stands over a helpless, defeated Henry/Vecna. And what does she do? She takes an axe and beheads him. No emotional weight, no narrative complexity, no recognition of who he used to be. He is slaughtered like a mindless zombie in a generic B-horror movie.What makes this an absolute betrayal of the lore is that The First Shadow established that Joyce and Henry were high school classmates in Hawkins. To have Joyce brutally decapitate him without a shred of recognition, while the rest of the characters remain completely oblivious to the tragedy of Henry's real past, completely pisses on the entire foundation of the prequel.

The Duffer brothers dumbed down their own mythology to cater to the lowest common denominator and please the "hyper-accepting" side of the fandom who just wanted a clean, black-and-white, good-vs-evil happy ending.The Wednesday writers had the guts to write a messy, gray-zone character tragedy with Tyler. The Duffers got scared of the depth of their own creation and turned a tortured boy into a generic, supervillain.

Enid's entire s2 arc is literally about realizing/accepting that Wednesday is THE most important person to her after trying to find her place in the pack.

She starts off excited to finally fit in, especially when her worst fear was being alone, but ultimately comes to feel that she's unhappy when not included by Wednesday:

Inclusion with Bruno & the pack doesn't fill that void. When told she had her pack to rely on to help her through her rough moments she realizes that she is not comforted by them, that instead her strength comes from Wednesday and that Wednesday is the person Enid wants to rely on & trust with her life, Wednesday is her pack.

"I realized that our breakup wasn’t about me. You know, it’s nobody’s fault that your feelings changed."

Ajax's words here echo this arc. How things ended up with Bruno wasn't about Bruno either, Enid rushed into things thinking it was what she was supposed to be doing to belong. The way Enid avoids Ajax is similar to how she generally tries to avoid how she truly feels about Wednesday as well - that she can't truly be happy in the pack unless Wednesday is included - which Enid attempts and fails on multiple occasions since Wednesday would never. But Enid doesn't feel that she's giving up on something she wanted, she's realizing and accepting her feelings have changed.

Enid no longer fears being a "lone wolf" because she won't be in a werewolf pack, instead now that fear is about losing Wednesday because without her she feels alone.

This declaration meant a lot to Enid, and gave her the confidence to confess to Wednesday that she considered her her pack. Wednesday is up to the role - immediately looking after Enid more, hearing her make light of having to sleep in a cage and knowing to comfort her by letting her know she'll let her out first thing in the morning. It's a subtle moment of deep affection and trust.

Despite that Wednesday still finds pinky promises too cringe, you can tell Enid doesn't regret her decision to declare Wednesday her pack. This being freshly off declaring she's done chasing boys makes it obvious that Enid wants to focus on her relationship with Wednesday moving forward.

Of course, this all culminates in Enid's sacrifice:

Obviously, as a friend, Enid can't let Wednesday die when she has the power to save her. But it's also more than that: it's about that established love & trust between them, this is Enid's worst fear because losing Wednesday is losing her pack.

And so, she transforms without hesitation, because she knows as long as Wednesday is alive she won't let Enid be alone. They are packmates and will always look out for each other.

Enid Sinclair's arc in s2 was about realizing she needs Wednesday in her life and is willing do anything for her. That devotion stuns Wednesday, and now it is up to her to return it in s3.

i love both ships dearly and will not turn down a good femslash ship, but i personally am more drawn to weyler romantically and wenclair platonically.

wenclair is compelling to me as a friendship bc wednesday (and enid) have never really had a friend before

weyler is compelling to me as a romantic ship bc they're so unhinged and complement each other well

s2 has solidified for me that enid loves wednesday a ton, but i'm not actually sure they'd be compatible (right now) in a romantic relationship. they're already on top of each other so much what with rooming together and all that. i think they need the space to exist in separate spaces and like. realize halfway through college in different states that "yeah, actually, i'm in love with her and don't want to be without her"

and i love weyler bc wednesday is ready for a relationship like tyler's in a way that she isn't with enid. if she starts dating enid, then she doesn't have a best friend, and that's more important to her right now.

honestly my ideal endgame for the whole enid-wed-tyler triangle is "couple and their queerplatonic third" with enid as the third (new boytoy every six months). as @myhamartiaishubris put it, "Enid is the most important person in Wednesday's life. Tyler is her boyfriend."

Also if Wednesday ever deigns to marry, it is to Enid (as a fuck you to Enid's mom and Tyler's dad). Morticia and Gomez are a bit confused at first, but delightedly support it once they get past the initial shock at Wednesday not marrying her romantic partner.

Also the only reason Wednesday deigns to have a big show of a wedding instead of just going to the courthouse is bc enid & Tyler convinced her the social norms are even more thrown off if she marries enid and then kisses Tyler at the end of the ceremony
