Ik he only appears for 2 seconds in the show and like maybe 10 seconds in the book but I like his house and I find him cute lol. 🌊🦭🧜🏻‍♂️

Just realised that the W names among House Manderly is probably due to the letter making a trident. And the M beginning their name is also from the trident!

For today’s designs for my upcoming Clash of Kings sketch challenge we join Catelyn in the Riverlands. The frustrating part about starting this batch was it becomes abundantly clear how many characters in this book are empty suits. Most of the time, all you’re told are things like the Greatjon is huge and the Manderly brothers are fat with big mustaches. The rest of the time you’re lucky if you’re told if someone’s old, bald, or has a noticeable wart. (One assumes if someone is described in more detail is a sign Mr. Martin is about to kill them)  

Everybody else, such as Catelyn’s entourage who we meet in this chapter, are just a list of names I’m going to have to eventually make up. Of that group, I started with Perwyn Frey, because at least I had the fact that he was a Frey to work with.

For the record, Greatjon here, is not so loosely based on Brian Blessed.

Was Manderly's son at the Red Wedding actually released? I lost my books in a fire, but I seem to recall him with his mouth open and a crossbow bolt going in. Henry V notwithstanding, I don't think you walked away from that kind of wound, and I don't see the Freys providing super awesome trauma care necessary to survive, what with everything else going on, and also because Freys.

No. Wendel Manderly, the one at the Red Wedding, died, and his bones were returned along with a heaping helping of Frey lies, saying that Wendel had interposed himself between Walder Frey and the Northmen who had transformed into wolves in a noble act of sacrifice. The one who was returned was Wylis Manderly, who was captured following Roose’s intentional failure at the Green Fork.
