Before Sam posted her designs I had this headcanon that most of LP's relationships ended because he was looking for a good balance between heroic adventures and a nice domestic family life and his exes just wanted the first part. I still think that about most of them, but the Wereduck seems so chill, it's easy to imagine them settling down with the clone and maybe adopting a couple of kids. Werepad is such a good ship.
Sorry for the late reply!!! But omg, I love this idea!!!
At the end of day, I feel like Launchpad despite being adventurous and a man of the world, he is not a person that would live his whole life traveling from place to place like a nomad. He wants a home to came back to, a place where he knows he can rest when everything else fails and although he loves traveling, he loves more being able to have a secure place with someone that shares his same expectations? You know, settle down in one place, kids and marriage.
I feel like his relationship with Wereduck was lovely and they were really in love with each other, but Wereduck IS a nomad, they don't want a house or to stay in one place, but they are different from other LP's exes. They do want kids and marriage (a pack you know) , but their ideal is that home is whenever they feel good with the people they love, they can't stay in one place and they want someone that can keep up with that forever.
So, despite loving each other deeply, LP and WD couldn't stay together as their dreams where different in that regard.
Things are different with LP2, he lives completely different experiences from LP when they separate and therefore his dreams are different from the original. He probably meets WD when they thought they had found OG!LP again. Identity shenanigans, Wereduck probably learns to understand that LP2 is not in fact LP, some interests and core traits are equal but he is essentially a different person. But WD falls in love with him all the same, and what's better, LP2 shares with him his love for traveling forever, with a family and marriage.
wereduck's voice would be either whoever did Wander from Wander over Yonder or Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life.
Jack McBrayer (Wander) as Wereduck would be so damn funny and cool! Imagine them going around the world with a banjo and singing in front of a bonfire at night with Launchpad by their side!!!!
