I’m considering putting up an “out of office” message not because I’m out of office, but because I literally cannot get shit done with everyone in this whole motherfucking community coming to me for every motherfucking thing. 

Can I set up a auto-reply that says, essentially, “Sorry, but you’re gonna have to figure that out yourself, buddy, because I have more things on my list than I can achieve in a month”?

Which of you office drones are, like me, reporting for duty today?

It’s 10:30 and I’m ready to walk out.

Mentally ill and perpetually disgruntled former board member is on the attack again;

I have 7 more events to plan and execute, soup-to-nuts, between now and July;

I have multiple requests for information, meetings, “concerns” (of the legit or trolling sort), and shitload of unfinished business coming in EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

But what I don’t have is cancer, which Professor Inventor has, so I don’t get to stop or complain to anyone in my professional circle.

I am going to break.

If one more fucking person says “It should be easy to...” about any of the trillionty krajillion things I have do as part of my job, I am going to flip the fuck out and scorch the earth with my rage.

Half-way Done

First of all, thank Bast that this is only a three-day week.

Second: UGH, it’s 2pm; can I go now?

Third: I applied for a different job here at Sister College, and even though I’m qualified and I think I’d be pretty good at it, I’m sure I won’t get it. Which is disheartening and makes me feel trapped in my current gig, which doesn’t seem like it will ever change for the better.  But at least I wrote a good cover letter and personal statement (IMO), even if I wasn’t terribly pleased with my resume. Gotta go back and work on that and apply to other things. I love SC, but I could grind out the next 10 years in this job doing more and more for much less than I’m worth.

Done, Sorta

Busted my ass pretty much all day, getting things done for the two conferences we have this month, both of which I'm attending/running.

As always, I could stay until 8 or 9 tonight and not run out of things to do.

But fuck that, I don’t make enough money, and as I keep trying to remind myself: the more I take on, the more they’ll expect, and the more they’ll put on my plate. 

So, as much as I hate to feel incompetent, I’ve got to let some things go, if only to maintain what little sanity I have left.

Something’s gotta give in 2019.
