@whatasweethart liked this post for a drabble!
A shaggy head popped out of the snow, ears flapping as it shook itself briskly.
"Woo, that was an adventure!" Bones chuckled, as a smaller head popped up next to him. "Yeah! Maybe we should fly off-course more often!" Rowan joked back, brushing the snow out of their hair.
"Heh. Maybe! But let's leave that for another day, if you don't mind. I'm starting to freeze stiff."
"Oh, alright, you big baby," they teased. "We'll go home and have cocoa... Once you help me out of this snow bank!"
With a warm laugh, Bones stood up, and helped the deer monster to her feet. Picking up the sled and slinging it over his back, the dog monster walked them home. The pair hung their wet clothes by the fire to dry, while they sat in front of the fire, getting warm again with a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows. Rowan sighed contentedly. "Today was perfect," they said. "Absolutely," the larger male agreed.
"... but, Bones? I have a secret to tell you..."
"Mm?" he asked. "No, no. It's a secret." They beckoned him closer.
He leaned in with an ear to them, eyebrows rising in surprise as they kissed his cheek. "You cheeky little- C'mere, you," he said with a grin, setting aside his mug before lying on top of the giggling deer. Hours passed, and the fire slowly died down. Morning would find them asleep in each other's arms on that couch, keeping each other warm through the long, cold winter's night.
