very funny to see hazbin hotel touted as an edgy show when it seems to run off the same core principles as the veggie-tales verse.
#hazbin hotel#won’t even show the face of god! makes efforts to avoid the uncomfortable implications of Christian hell being real by centering americans#whenever possible#in our modern era it’s doing baby blasphemy#in fact it mostly ends up doing blasphemy by decentering religion so you get a weird by works alone take on redemption#just so the show doesn’t have to grapple with ‘would the Christian’s God’s mercy extend to our merry cast of already damned murderers’#it’s honestly incredibly funny#inventing a take that would make every religious scholar pre-1800 mad at you to avoid modern audiences getting mad at you
