All the rift traits for the garden dragon!
As promised, here’s some pictures of the adult form of Trowel, my Garden dragon -- along with two new dragons! With the end of Whitbee’s Candy bash came the release of two new Fire hybrids, the Soot and the Smolder. I was able to get both pretty quickly, and so I can show them off to you now!
Left: Here’s the Smolder! A handsome blue fellow with a heavy beard. I’ve named him Flynn after Tangled’s Flynn Rider. (”Here comes -- the smolder.”) It felt right. XD
Right: Here’s the Soot (plus Trowel)! A very pretty red and blue, the game named him Redgaze, and I ended up liking it. :)
So yeah, that’s a bunch of dragons for you! What next? Welp, they’re probably gonna do another mini-thing for Thanksgiving, which I am on board with. Right now, though, I’m just waiting for the Barite to be re-released. . .
Welp, Whitbee’s wrapping up, so it’s time to show off everything I got with my candy. And, in a shocking twist, I was able to get EVERYTHING THAT WAS AVAILABLE. I even still had candy left over! My acquisitions included:
-->That Eerie Theme I wanted so much
-->The Wailing Well and Wisp Lantern decorations
-->The four available dragon pedestals (Decay, Bog, Garden, Thicket)
-->And a second Spooky habitat!
Only thing I missed out on was the Nightbloom pedestal, and I’m not worrying too much about that -- Bring ‘Em Back’s on its way, after all. . .
Speaking of which, I have some adult dragon forms to show off as well! Seen here are the adult forms of (left, second from bottom) Ivysaur my Thicket and Jasmine (previously Curly -- anon suggested the new name) my Nightbloom, and (right, second from bottom) Rotter my Decay and Sog my Bog! They all look pretty awesome, but Jasmine’s special as a transforming dragon -- switch the skybox to a “night” one, and she unfurls her wings to their full petal glory. :) It’s pretty awesome.
But wait -- there’s one new dragon missing, isn’t there? Where’s my Garden dragon Trowel? Welp, in the next update, along with a couple of new friends. . .
Welp, Halloween is over, so Whitbee’s wrapping up -- and now that the candy is basically free for the spending, time to show off the newest dragons the Vale has gifted us! Since these are prize dragons, I only have one egg to show you -- the Thicket’s, since that was the dragon I chose as the final prize from the Hall of Hallows (most expensive of the lot that wasn’t limited). However, I have a bunch of baby forms for you:
-->Ivysaur the Thicket, that little brownish guy with a vine coming out of his top. As you might imagine, this is one of the ones who references Gardenia of the Valentine’s Day event. His name comes from the Pokemon -- I almost went with Bulbasaur, but figured Ivysaur was more appropriate.
-->Curly the Nightbloom, the other Limited foisted up on this during the final double weekend of Halloween. I tried hard to breed it, but no dice, so I had to buy it. Candy well spent, I feel -- she’s cute, and looks very soft. Name’s from the game -- I may change it, but I think it fits her.
-->Rotter the Decay, the dragon that most looks like it belongs to this event. The reason for the name should be obvious. I’m really looking forward to the adult form of this one.
-->Trowel the Garden, Gardenia’s other dragon. He’s another cutie. I decided to name him after a gardening implement, and “trowel” was the first one that came to mind.
-->Sog the Bog, which is at least plant-related stuff that can also be Halloweeny. I like his mushroom. His description is basically every word that could rhyme with his type, so I followed the pattern when naming him. Hey, you can get sogged in a bog!
Next week, the adult forms for all these folks, plus whatever other stuff I could get with my candy! I should be able to afford at least one of the new decorations. . .and my island theme. :)
Well, Whitbee’s has 99% wrapped up (as in, the island and the skybox are gone, but the visitors are still in costume and the candy counter remains as a button to take you to the prizes for another week), and I just made enough to get all four of the new dragons! With 425 candy left over too, though it’s sadly not enough to buy anything. (Except Whitbee’s Lantern, but I’ve got TWO of those.) Let’s introduce you to the latest denizens of my Vale:
Nevermore the Spectre: Basically just yet another variation on the “ghost dragon” them (to go with the Ghost and Phantom dragons), but a very cool-looking one. His description is basically a parody of Poe’s “The Raven” -- I nearly named him Raven, but then realized Nevermore would be waaay better. His egg is the blue and black one in the back of the first picture.
Puck the Trick: At first I just thought this an adorable little purple thing in line with the Berry dragon -- but then I aged it up and it got infinitely more awesome. As you can see, you’ve got “cutesy” Trick, and “toothy” Trick. I like ‘em both. XD Named him Puck after the Faerie trickster -- first thing that came to mind. His egg is the orange, green, and purple striped one on the left.
Wonka the Ortreat: Fluffy thing, isn’t he? I just want to run my fingers through that fur. Apparently this dragon is the one who helped inspire the tradition of going around asking for candy during the Candy Bash -- these guys were bred by a guy named Ortreat who only shared his best candy with them. Some kids dressed up as the dragons to get their own treat, and Ortreat decided not to be a jerk about it and gave it out. And thus punny traditions were born. . .anyway, being a Roald Dahl fan, if it’s about candy, it’s gotta be Wonka. His egg is the white and orange (like candy corn) striped one in the front.
Duran the Lycan: Well, they have vampires, ghosts, zombies, and mummies -- honestly, I’m surprised they haven’t had a werewolf before. And the nice thing about the Lycan is that it genuinely has two distinct forms, depending on the skybox you slap up with the Twilight Tower. Daytime’s the gangly bit of ugly-cute, nighttime’s the hulking fuzzy beast. First change was during the event itself when the moon went full, as someone told me -- didn’t see it for myself, though, as I was still saving up for it. As for the name -- well, the description references “Hungry Like The Wolf,” sooo. . . His egg is the blue furry-looking one to the right.
So yeah, that’s the new spooky crew! Hopefully Bring Em Back will give me a second shot at getting an appropriate habitat for them. . .for now, I’m working on Galaxy dragons. (They released TWO MORE on the 10th -- how I’m supposed to get all these through cooperative breeding is beyond me.)
