Our #BlindnessAwarenessMonth post for this Monday is for #WhiteCaneSafetyDay. This picture is of Owen's buddy Greyson, with his white cane, an awesome shirt to represent being an ONH warrior and holding the hand of his dad Jon. Greyson’s mom Jessica and I met via a Facebook group for Optic Nerve Hypoplasia several years ago. Since then we have spent time together, laughed, cried, and have both had little boss-baby girls. Greyson and Owen have the same condition but, have faced different hurdles. Optic Nerve Hypoplasia is a spectrum disorder - those affected will all meet developmental milestones at a different rate and their families will be faced with challenges both like ours and unlike ours. Just like Greyson's parents, I feel pride when Greyson surpasses expectations. He's amazing, smart, and loving to his sister Talia. His parents are dedicated to ensuring he has the opportunity to accomplish any/everything. @mrscaromile you guys rock! #October15 #OpticNerveHypoplasia #WhiteCane #VIMom https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo95NyXAMOXPEQuQu1A1ARiIihCyTLWagGUI-g0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7lfgl06ycxml
