Whumpril 2025 - Day 10 - Bandages
@whumpril | Day #10: Bandages Fight or Flight (2025)
Whumpril Day 10: [Alt] “I’m not made of glass”
Prompt List
"you silly little Whumpee, when will you realize you need to stay here with me. It's the only way for you to be safe"
Whumpril Day 10 - Migraine
Story under the cut
You know what's the funniest part? Is that I actually thought he was coming back for me. But no, he just wanted to get rid of me. And now Pope's a fugitive. Welcome to the club, bro. And we have nothing now. We lost everything and it's all my fault.
Whumpril Day 10: Migraine
Ever since Leo’s first breakdown made a memorable, messy impression at eight years old*, Raph couldn’t doubt the destructive power of a migraine. He was the one Dad enlisted to give Leo a hand with them anyway so if the first hadn’t been scary enough, seeing his brother persistently become a pale, cringing, quiet, wrung out shell of himself brought the point home. Migraines sucked.
Now crumpled in the hall, head in his hands, biting down against his gag reflex, he was discovering firsthand that was the understatement of his life.
Initially Raph dismissed the haze in his peripheral vision as a bad night’s sleep. He still hadn’t adjusted to their new sleep schedule with school and the Superfly nightmares just didn’t quit. He’d put the nausea down to his fellow students’ caustic body sprays and constant noise. Not long ago in math class, he had tried harder to blink the blur away and instead saw…fireflies? Flickering, zigzagging contrails.
That’s when he remembered Leo groaning about floaty zigzags and put two and two together, right before white-hot agony punched through his skull. He had to flee the classroom in a blind rush but through the mounting thunder of blood in his ears and his teacher hollering indignantly after him, he could sense Leo in pursuit.
At least Leo knew from experience which pressure points to target to return Raph’s many favors—and return the searing threat of vomit to the pit of his stomach—although one hand opted to brace his shuddering shell instead. O-K, he traced over and over despite the flighty nervousness of his fingers. It’s gonna be okay.
Not yet. Not even close—but inching closer as Leo squeezed his sweat-stained neck, a silent promise to say nothing of the pitiful chirp Raph emitted in response.

Whumpril Masterlist
Aurelis Masterlist
Yes this may be pretty self-indulgent, but I enjoyed writing this immensely and I hope you give it a chance!
“You can count on us, Stephen!” Spider-Man said, giving the Sorcerer Supreme a thumbs-up.
When Peter had said they were going to be house-sitting for someone, Aurelis had assumed he meant his Aunt May, or maybe one of his friends, like Harry or MJ. She did not expect to be standing inside New York City’s Sanctum Sanctorum. Apparently, evil forces of a mystical nature were planning to swallow the earth whole and plunge it into an eternal darkness from which no mortal would ever feel joy again. Typical Tuesday. Dr. Strange was going to be away for a bit while he dealt with these forces of evil, but in the meantime, someone had to watch the Sanctum.
Ache III
Part 1 Part 2 Part 4 Part 5
Warnings: head injury, unconsciousness, temporary character death
"What scanner did you need?" Supervillain asked as they stared at the wall of various tools and instruments.
Right Hand didn't look up from the medical cabinet they were at. They were piling up IV bags and gathering everything they would need to set up an IV and give Villain medication. They picked up a box of bandages, eyes flicking back to Villain before putting it back. "They don't need any bandages do they?"
"No. Not that I can see? What am I looking for?"
"There should be a scan gun. It'll look like a ray gun. It does quick diagnostics for us. Great gift we got a couple of months ago. Comes in handy."
Supervillain scanned the wall, not realizing how silent the med bay had fallen. Not realizing that neither they nor Right Hand noticed that Villain had stopped gasping for air. Not noticing that the person they were trying to save had fallen completely silent.
"Got it!" They said as they grabbed a small gun that had a hand held attached.
"Great. I've got what I need. Let's go back to Villain."
"Villain?" Supervillain said, hoping that maybe Villain would wake more easily. That whatever had affected them had passed. "Villain?" Supervillain said a little more loudly as they reached the bed they had laid Villain on.
Villain was deathly pale and still on the bed. Their mouth was slightly open and Supervillain waited for the loud wheezing gasp to come. But none came. "NO! Villain!"
Right Hand dropped what they were carrying and pressed to fingers to the pulse in Villain's neck, their face grave. "Supervillain, I'm sorry--"
"Don't say it," Supervillain hissed, their eyes never leaving Villain's slack face. "They're not. Don't you dare say it. The scanner will tell us what's wrong. It'll tell us what to do." They pointed the gun at Villain. "Come on, Villain, come on."
