Why is Forrester the surname for Link the Legend of Zelda fandom gravitates to?
I, personally, prefer to give him a last name that reflects the theme of the story I’m writing, but I wonder if that’s an unpopular choice? At the end of the day, it’s my story, so I can choose to do the extra work to find the perfect last name.
So, why Forrester? Because he usually lives in a village tucked away in the woods? Because of his rugged look and life in Twilight Princess (which is my #1 guess). Or simply because an author long ago chose that name, and then someone else used it, and now, after all this time, that’s become his unofficial last name?
Does anyone have an answer or is it a complete mystery? I’m fairly new to the LoZ fandom here, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. 😅
