5: Firm Kiss

Honestly, Kate has lost track of how much she’d had to drink about 5 shots ago. This was pretty typical of their “we almost died and the world almost ended but we’re still here” parties, all paid for on her father’s dime of course. The hem of her purple dress swished around her knees as she ran around the room making sure her presence was known in each group of people. There were people she didn’t recognize, and she wasn’t certain how they got here, but she truly didn’t care. She had taken one too many hits earlier, which led to her taking a few too many drinks tonight. Her head was foggy, but definitely not foggy enough to end the fun.

An energetic aura continued to follow her every where she went around the room, and when she screamed her best friend’s name, in shrill drunk girl fashion, no one batted an eye. She clumsily ran to him, and plopped down on Billy’s lap. “Billy, you know you’re my best friend, right?” She said nestling her head in his shoulder. She could tell the other’s around her were suppressing giggles, but that didn’t stop her from her fun.

“Of course I do, Katie.” he said, slightly drunk himself.

“Good!” She exclaimed. Before anyone realized what she was doing she kissed him firmly on the mouth, for just a little too long before jumping up. “More shots!” she yelled. running to the table.

Billy was in slight shock, but probably not as much as he should have been, Kate has always been an affectionate drunk. He just shook his head and followed behind Kate hoping to find some more of whatever she was drinking.
