Description

In the shadows at the bottom of this valley, birds and wild beasts devour the army of Gog, the evil prince. The Hebrew Bible prophet Ezekiel stands above on a rocky pulpit and calls forth a divine vengeance.

When our ancestors lived in the deep, black forests of Europe and were in fear of both man and animal throughout the night, it was not a difficult leap to conflate the two. The werewolf is a compelling monster because it represents the beastial self within man. Hairy, disjointed, often a mess of blood and spit and horrifically twisted into an animal shape, the werewolf is a creature of blind hunger, wrath and lust.
