Man, first 20 minutes I’m getting impatient with Izana’s “I’m croaking!” scene. I know he’s a kid scared out of his mind, and the great tragedy in this cutscene was that even with his beloved chocobo lying beside him in blood it didn’t give Izana comfort in the end as he dies crying and screaming was unfortunately lost to me because it got dragged on too long.

I am perfectly aware I sound like a jerkass and am prepared for the game to tell me I’m a terrible person for thinking that in a future flashback.

Camera is giving me a bit of motion sickness, but I’ve played Sonic Heroes, so that was nothing. But the combat is ridiculously fun.

Also nice nods to the FFV (each country has own magical crystal) and FFVI (the prologue gave me flashbacks how Terra, Wedge and Biggs attacked Narche with magitek armor) and FFVIII (students sent in a warzone at beginning of game) references.
