⋆ — It’s a cooler day today, and the clouds roll easily on a breeze carried in from the ocean. With lunch finished, they were just taking a moment to relax before carrying on, and Ezreal had pulled out his notebook to sketch a bird he’d seen earlier that day. With its odd markings and the plumage of feathers on its head, he’s certain he’ll be able to learn more about it, but it’ll be easier to show a picture than to describe it when he finds the right person to ask.
It’s when he’s almost finished that he catches a glimpse of Yasuo out of the corner of his eye, sitting a short distance away with a furrow in his brow. With his dark eyes on a spot in the distance, he doesn’t realise Ezreal is watching him, and for a little while Ezreal can accept that. But, really? How long can a guy think for?
Anyway, they should get moving. That’s what Ezreal’s thinking, anyway, as he steps closer, almost silent in the grass, and settles himself down right next to Yasuo, head on his shoulder. The response is almost instant, with Yasuo’s arm wrapping around Ezreal to pull him closer, head turning to meet Ezreal’s gaze at the same time Ezreal looks up at him. “I saw a cool bird today,” Ezreal says. “Did I tell you?”
“Only about a dozen times,” is the reply as Yasuo brushes his thumb along Ezreal’s jaw before dipping his fingers into blond locks. Blue eyes close, peaceful, until——
“—Owwwh, what?” When he opens them again, Yasuo is examining a twig he’d fished out. There’s even a couple of leaves still on it. “How long has that been there?”
“Two days,” Yasuo replies, flicking it into the grass. “I’ve been watching it grow.” With his task finished, he returns his palm to Ezreal’s cheek, his brown eyes to Ezreal’s blue. “The thing seemed a bit voyeuristic, if you ask me.”
