He’s a little taken off guard at suddenly being hugged. Maybe Venti had been just as worried as him about it, though for different reasons. Ambrose had almost chickened out of bringing it up, a few days spent working up the nerve to ask. He laughs nervously as he pats a hand against Venti’s back, shaking his head. “No, no, it’s okay, really— I wasn’t any better, putting it off until so last minute. I am just relieved we could meet again, though. And it seemed like a suiting day to ask… so…”
He’s also relieved to have the invitation received well! Though still a little nervous, he continues talking in an attempt not to dwell on it.
“I don’t really mind what we do, so long as where we go at least has something I can handle eating.” He really doesn’t want to get sick in the middle of dinner. “But I guess it might be hard to get a seat anywhere last minute if a lot of people are taking their partners out… oh dear.”
